Fast Mock Draft 2.0

Which means I can be on the clock 11am tomorrow at the latest with the Lions.

There is a bevy of talented players just waiting to become Detroit Lions.

The Lions would be up at 1PM at the latest.

Current Pick is 3PM-9PM 6 hours
Rams 7AM-1PM
Lions 1PM-7PM

I thought the clock stopped at 11pm, my bad.

For a team with a lot of needs the options are almost endless with the 34th pick.

With the 32nd overall pick, the Saints select...

Brandon Graham, DE

I didn't want to reach on positions of need so I went BPA and I'm not sure if Graham can fit the Saints style of defense but he has the work ethic and dedication needed to be successful and Sean Payton can turn him into a stud. With a non-stop motor, he can replace Charles Grant as a much more quicker and athletic DE.

I was really hoping he would fall to 34.

The Lions could do with some pass rush....

Oh well, plenty more fish in the sea.

The St. Louis Rams with the 33rd pick of the 2010 NFL Draft select - Maurkice Pouncey, OC/OG Florida
PounceyMaurkice_091024_9397_TCasey.jpg

Adding the top interior offensive lineman in the draft to develop chemistry with top overall pick & franchise QB Sam Bradford is not only bpa but unexpected break to get this caliber of Center with big game experience in shotgun/spread (Tebow) formations opening the box & creating better running lanes for Mr. Steven Jackson. Current center Jason Brown could move back to LG where he started in Baltimore before drafting Grubbs. Pouncey grades out on the Rams board as a mid 1st rd. selection so value is a plus & he meets Spagnuolo's four pillars strategy: Faith. Character. Core Values. Team First. The Rams already have their young tackles set with 08 2nd overall pick Jason Smith & another 1st rounder back in 05 Alex Barron, who along with guards Bell & Goldberg will help accelerate improved line play & giving Sam long term continuirty with which to grow. http://multimedia.foxsports.com/m/video/30081602/draft-preview-maurkice-pouncey.htm

34.) Detroit Lions - kiwitexansfan - 7AM THURS

35.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - beerLover

36.) Kansas City Cheifs - Kaiser Toro

37.) Philadelphia Eagles - Shaft75

38.) Cleveland Browns - Honoring Earl 34

This is a great spot for Pouncey. I think he is a slight reach in mid round 1. So the top of round 2 is good value for the position. Good Pick.

The Lions had the worst pass defense in the NFL last year, strange for a team who was behind a lot and should have been getting ground into the dirt by opposition running games.

Suh helped that with the first pick of the draft, the Lions continue to address that issue here in the second.

The Lions select Kareem Jackson, CB, Alabama.

Suh helps the front end, Jackson helps the back end. The Lions traded for Houston but if getting Dunta is considered an upgrade over him he can't be good.

Guys if you know your pick is coming up soon please PM it to me so we can keep this mock moving quickly.

Not trying to be a pick nazi, just wanted to complete the rounds before the actual draft arrives in 12 days.

I agree , it's easy when your two picks away to know the three players you want . Of course until you've been in a Little League draft , you may not have done this .

With the 35th pick the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select - Jerry Hughes, DE/OLB TCU
6136448.jpg

Raheem Morris is a defensive coach who needs to address his teams lack of pass rush. Hughes is a premier, first round talent who brings to the Bucs outstanding pass rushing skills (speed/quickness/agility) very happy to get him here providing huge upgrade over RDE's Stylez White & Michael Bennett. http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4654413&categoryid=null

Great pick

I wouldn't have taken him. But if he can stay healthy Lee and Weatherspoon are the 2 best LB's in this draft. IMHO

Good job guys. Here are the next 5. Be ready or PM your selection.

39.) Oakland Raiders - RMartin65 12PM Thurs

40.) San Diego Chargers - steelbtexan - PM'ed me his picks.

41.) Buffalo Bills - kiwitexansfan

42.) Tampa Bay Buccaneers - beerLover

43.) Miami Dolphins - The Pencil Neck - PM'ed me his picks.

The Oakland Raiders select TCU OLB Daryl Washington

One of the big buzzwords around the Raiders D is "playmaker". Well, that is what I am getting here, I playmaker. Washington will solidify the the Raiders LB corp, making it one of the best in the league.

steelbtexan PM'ed me his pick for the Chargers - Rodger Saffold, Guard, Indiana.

With their preferred pick of Saffold gone, and no faith in this years QB class, the Bills look to add a weapon to support whomever emerges from the pupu platter of QBs.

The Bills select Demaryius Thomas, WR, Georgia Tech.

44.) New England Patriots - Kaiser Toro

45.) Denver Broncos - Ole Miss Texan

46.) New York Giants - kiwitexansfan

48.) Carolina Panthers - The Pencil Neck

With the 42nd pick in the 2010 NFL Draft the Tampa Bay Buccaneers select - Patrick Robinson, CB FSU
fsu_robinson2009_01.jpg

Patrick Robinson reminds the Bucs war room of Indiana CB Tracy Porter who went on to be pretty good with the New Orleans Saints (#40). lacked physical game, considered soft but his playmaking ability, guick feet & athletic ability in & out of breaks is what makes or breaks NFL CB's. Patrick has these gifts which will serve him well as Ronde Barbers understudy making a dynamic secondary duo with Aqib Talib for this suddenly young & dynamic defense.

I understand that there are some glaring needs that I have not addressed on defense, but there is a need for playmakers and I do have eyes to some need players in this round and the 4th.

The Denver Broncos select Tyson Alualu, DL from California.

TysonAlualu.jpg

Alualu amazes me each time I watch him. As the Colts GM last mock, I selected him at the end of the 2nd rd at pick #63. Now as the Broncos GM, I'm taking him at #45. I think this guy just has it all and is the perfect fit for a 3-4 defense. His athleticism, instincts, work ethic and ability to beat the double teams will allow him to be an instant success along our DL at a NT and DE. His versatility will also allow him to stay on the field when we show 4-3 fronts as well. Denver's front 7 is being built with studly players.

Tyson Alualu

The Giants once had the most threatening defensive front in football, last year it was closer to offensive than a force. To address that need, the Giants pick up a penetrative DT whose stock is sliding a little but still has the protential to generate sacks and pressure.

The Giants select Brian Price, DT, UCLA

"Thats right Sanchize, I'm coming to the big apple too... you gonna be crying again soon...."

IDK about you kiwi but Brian Price looks MUCH bigger then 300-lbs, he look's like he's 315-325-lbs in that pic.

really solid pick for the G-Men in the 2nd.

I was worried you might get him before I did. I think Alualu is a much better fit for the 3-4 though.

I had Price, Houston and Alualu targetted so I'm glad I got my pick of the bunch.

Now hurry up everyone, the Lion's GM is wanting to get back to work :wild:

Dang you! You keep taking my guys!

I literally had my pick of Saffold typed and ready to go.

Back to the drawing board.

Sorry abou that Kiwi.

Saffold has as much ability as any OL in this draft. He probably will end up being better than 3-4 OT's that will be taken ahead of him.

Saffold has quick feet and could be a great OG if a team chooses to put him there.
