DW4 Traded to Cleveland

This may be Caserio not wanting DW4 playing in the AFC. If so it's a dumb move and not in the best interest of the Texans. Jets could offer the Texans the best package and the most value for DW4.

I think Watson is looking at the competitive landscape and doesn’t want to be in the AFC. He wants the easy path and not to have to play against the more talented AFC QBs. Rodgers is close to retirement and so is Brady. Not too many top tier QBs after that.

We already know that Watson is a quitter.

Now, let's throw in a little conspiracy. A comment was haphazardly thrown out on 610 today, but not discussed, that there were indications that Watson's discontent with the Texans began prior to his signing the new contract. I think that this gives Watson some smarts he doesn't seem to have. But...?

Watson doesn’t have the smarts but his agent probably did.

I would hope that Nick has a list of teams on his desk that DW4 agrees to waive his NTC.

I also think that interested teams would contact DW4's agent before moving forward.

Not sure Nick is the one who would know. I would hope Watson would give him the teams he would go to. But, I have a feeling that he 1- Is not coming forward with this information AND/OR 2- He is waiting to see if who he would want to play for even comes up. If not, then give a list. Meaning we heard Miami was pretty much all...when they ducked out. He hasn't said much about anyone else. Maybe a little talk of NY but that's about it. He may have to go to a backup list, play here or sit out 4 more years under contract (won't happen).

This guy doesn’t have many followers. Take with a grain of salt. The Deshaun trade rumor thread could be coming to an end soon: so why not, right?
I thought it was reported that Burns was the one player that was untouchable. This would be a good trade. The equivalent of 4 1st round picks. Burns has 2 years left on his rookie contract. Chinn was a 2nd round pick and also has 2 years left. Would be nice for a some extra picks, but a quality FS and DE would really upgrade the defense.

? What I've been reading is he has agreed to waive NTC for Saints and Panthers and is meeting with them again later this week after dep . My thoughts would be that both teams have offers that Caserio is contemplating maybe tweaking if DW's next meetings go well. Those are as I understand to nail down his role, the offense and how each team sees the future of their team. New Orleans more his life style/brand but Carolina home and Clemson where he gets much love.

Not to mention that number six pick. That’s the perfect trade back spot for a QB hungry team. I could see someone moving up to 6 for Malik Willis.

I can’t see Watson picking Carolina over New Orleans. There are shady places all over New Orleans go get anal gaped..,I mean messaged.

Really? Why? He asked for and received control over future destinations in any trade regardless of whom was initiating the trade. The TC does not say that he cannot be traded. It does not say that he cannot ask to be traded so what's the big deal? He was smart enough to ask for it and the GM at the time was silly enough to give it to him. To be fair no one at the time thought that he would be going anywhere and that he would be the starting quarterback for the Texans for the length of that contract.

The team and Watson agreed in writing that either side can request a trade, Watson has right to negate or agree to it. If any of us were in his shoes at the moment of the signing of the agreement we would have signed it also. Why blame DW for doing what he thinks is best for him. It's the nature of the business right?

Think the McNair's will ever put a NTC in a contract again?

Yeah but.. and let's not debate this all over again but as Texian says just above this is all at the feet of Cal who apologized for allowing DW and/or his camp to believe that McNair was going to allow that. I DO NOT want any player choosing HC or GM. Having that said if I were that QB and thought I would be given the opportunity, I would take advantage. Wouldn't you?

Yes, but I wouldn't have gotten butthrt when ownership decided to go in a different direction than what I wanted. Why? Because they just paid me $156 mil.

I can see Ahmad Gardner at 3 trade 6 to Seattle for 9 {QB} and we go Cross at 9. That's if Giants go inside as I could see them going Okwonu 5 and Cross 7; if that happens we have no net if Howard flubs. Lots of chess.

I'm happy with this. Looking like Edge and S may be off the table for 1st round. OT & CB at #3 & #6.
Ekwonu and Sauce Gardener Would be amazing start to the draft. I hope we still go after one more OL in the draft. Package a pick with Tunsil and move up to get OT Penning or CB McDuffie. I have a feeling one of OG Green C Linderbaum DE Karlofthis could be available in the second round. Ekwonu and Penning on the same line? Talk about culture change.

It very well may be. Also says “could be”. Why not finalize tonight? Because deposition tomorrow.
Most definitely, they want Chinn since Reid bounced to KC. We’ll find out here soon. The Panthers desperately want Watson that badly. Dude even told him he can pick his own HC. So he might not give to craps about the lawsuits. He knows Watson will be suspended a good portion of the season. They will hire Eric Beinimy ( however you spell his last name). Therefore the 2022 season might be a throwaway season for them lol

Dont get cute, just take the best players. If I was going to trade down I would from #3 and still get one of the OL I like.

Deshaun Watson trade suitors now focused on his next deposition and possible NFL suspension

NFL teams preparing for a potential trade pursuit of Deshaun Watson are now focusing on two key aspects of his future, following Friday’s decision by a grand jury to pass on indicting the Houston Texans quarterback on sexual assault allegations.

First, multiple teams considering a trade for Watson told Yahoo Sports that Tuesday’s deposition in the quarterback’s civil litigation will be a pivotal moment, because Watson is expected to give it without invoking his Fifth Amendment right to refuse to testify against himself. In his previous deposition, which was taken on Friday, Watson’s attorney Rusty Hardin advised him to decline answering questions by invoking the Fifth. Watson is currently facing 22 civil suits alleging a range of sexual misconduct or sexual assault.

Hardin previously told Yahoo Sports that Watson would continue to invoke his Fifth Amendment right in depositions until grand jury proceedings — which were tied to criminal complaints against the quarterback — had been settled. Now that the grand jury process has been completed without an indictment, teams expect Watson to answer questions under oath for the first time on Tuesday. That deposition won’t be public, but NFL teams and league investigators will attempt to gather information on Watson’s testimony as franchises consider a trade pursuit and the NFL continues its investigation into the allegations.

“We want to know what he’s going to say,” one team official told Yahoo Sports. “That’s going to be important for us and I assume probably anyone else who gets involved [in trade talks].”

Of the teams that are vying for a meeting with Watson, the New Orleans Saints and Carolina Panthers are expected to meet with him by the end of this week. Other franchises could still express interest in meeting with Watson in the coming days, including the Seattle Seahawks, Philadelphia Eagles, Atlanta Falcons and Cleveland Browns, among others.
THE REST OF THE STORY

Colts were told no also. It seems Caserio doesn't want to do what his boss did back in the gap. According to some, he doesn't want to play against a 1 read qb . lmao

Yeah, but as long as the two teams still in it are divisional rivals the bidding war will still stay hot. At this point They're not only bidding for his service, they're also bidding for who doesn't have to face him 2x a year or have him potentially block their playoff chances for the foreseeable future.
That should be the last thing on their mind considering they don't really even have a qb. Take the best deal regardless of who gives it to you.

That's the point..
What do the Colts have to offer?..

They don't have anything close to offer (already spent it on Wentz) that these other teams have to offer. I wouldn't of entertained a trade from them either, especially being a divisional rival.

The Colts could be the last team in the division next year though,

The Texans have the ultimate no trade clause.

The arrogance of Watson is just bizarre. He demands a trade just months after signing a huge deal and now gets to act like a free agent in picking his next team. I don't believe in karma, but if I did, I'd hope he endures many losing seasons in the years ahead. He is the worst kind of selfish, entitled entertainer.

It's asinine and football is in a bad spot indulging this scumbag.

The way I see this playing out is Caserio will take the approved offers and lay them out on the Kirby Boardroom table. Lovie will decide what will be the best option for his roster. For example, Lovie picks Carolina because Evan Neal at #3 and Jordan Davis at #6 will best improve the team. Cal then rubber stamps his approval.

John Ellis on Twitter: "I’ve said this for several days: if Watson approves Carolina, I truly believe they find a way to walk out of Houston with their brand new quarterback. They have pursued him longer than any team, and they offer him whatever it takes, if seems. If not, OK. It’ll be allrght." / Twitter

Someone tweeted that Carolina has made a deal with Texans and should be done by this evening.
Deal includes (according to tweeter) 3 firsts, Jeremy Chin and Brian Burns.
Tweeter has no blue check mark so take it with a grain of salt.

Wilson says everything is in the beginning stage. It would behoove Watson to get a deal done quick he isn’t going to want this to linger and give Buzbee a chance to muddle it up.
