Divisional Round! The Kansas City Chiefs!

Am I the only one that doesn't give 5 shits what some loud mouth says on the radio or TV? I just don't care! They yap to get ratings. That's all. It's like some of the cable news yappers. The more they can piss you off, the higher the ratings go. I call it outrage TV. Same here - make you mad, you listen more. I stopped drinking the haterade a good decade ago, and it's made a huge improvement in my mental state. I can't tell y'all what to do, but you're just breathing life into that stuff. The more you listen, the more they feed you the same negative BS.

This.

Also, I'd like to add "The coaches and GM don't tell our local media everything!11!!!" to this statement. I'm not interested in knowing everything about my team, especially if that information can be used against us.

I don't know when people became so interested in making sure that everyone thinks, says and acts the same. It's really annoying. I'm not singling out the poster who Porky is responding to (austins23), but his troll tactics have already worked. Just like in advertising, the most important thing is for people to remember the commercial (or in this case, the journalist that made such a statement). This is helping his clicks, views, engagement and ratings. He knows what he's doing and he's good at it. Is he a bug-eyed dweeb? Yes. Do I care what he says? No. But he knows how to manipulate the sports-outrage machine.

Having said that--I hope the Texans win this game and shut everyone up. Including me.

Well...your 1st mistake is watching that popeye-goon looking dude in the 1st place...

if you insist on watching 1 of those hot take shows watch the one with View attachment 15124 Joy Taylor. if nothing else, she's pleasant to look at.
She's got some allegations to deal with right now. Never liked her anyway. That Popeye goon is a Chiefs homer, self admitted homer. He can't give any insight as to why the chiefs may lose Saturday.

i feel this way about a number of things. Politics, social media etc..
That's good advice, a good approach to life, and a good way to take care your mental health. 👍

But on the flipside, I just want this team to find ways to get fired up, ball out, and shock everyone however they can. And because of that, I love embracing the 3:30 PM Saturday time slot now and have always loved the the underdog role, us against the world mentality. Whatever it takes! Probably because of life experience lol.

Love how everyone thinks this is about the X's and O's, Jimmy's and Joe's. Wish I could be there with you but the NFL has created just too much shadow of doubt for me. KC is going to Nawlins.

If the Texans don’t get caught up in the moment, and just come out and play the game like they did in the last 36 minutes of last week…..they should be just fine. Okay DeMeco, it’s up to you to have your team grounded and ready to play. This is playoff game #4 for Ryan’s young team, being doe eyed at this stage shouldn’t be a concern. It’ll be a special season if they can be the first Texans team to get their arses to the AFCCG.

I think once you begin to see the game through the lens of conspiracy, it's difficult to stop. 22 players on a 120 x 53 yard field, with 7 refs, 20 something cameras, 70,000 fans, and 40 million watching on the tube. And somehow people think this can be coordinated into a preferred outcome? That's what is mind boggling to me. But people are going to see what they want to see.

0 holding penalties in 3 SB's and that's not what my lying eyes were telling me. Ask Bosa if he was held in last yrs SB.

For the love of all things football….. Texans, Demeco, Slowick…. All of you! Can we please beat this got damn team Saturday….. if not just to shut up Nick Wright!! I don’t how this guy can even talk coherently with so much of the Chiefs in his word producer!
Good Lawd I can’t stand that guy!
Ditto. I detested his whiny ass when he was here almost as much as Innis…

I have a strong feeling we will overcome all of that and come victorious on Saturday. Usually I be just throwing around my predictions hoping we we win. But for some reason I think the performance from last week will spill over into this game.

Go Texans

If they lose, I'm sure it will be Slowik's fault.

He hasn't been good this year. First half I mostly gave him the benefit of the doubt, but it's been painfully obvious that most weeks, his defensive counterpart is outcoaching him.

I do think he has a chance to be a good OC. I don't think he's one now. Average OC and that's somewhat generous. I'd rather move on, but it's somewhat unlikely, evben with a loss Sat, and no way in hell with a win.

They may tinker with some assistants downline from Bobby but right now...85% chance he stays imho, and that goes to near 100% with a win. Yes, he is riding the coattails of the Defense but it is what it is.

Replacing Strausser could allow Slow time to develop.

If Slowik can engineer a strong offensive performance against the Chiefs then he is going to attract plenty of attention.

There's probably a better chance he's gone if they win (and keep winning) because there's 0 chance he's getting fired.

I don’t knowwhy anyone would watch if they felt the outcome was pre determined

Do you think he's been out coached for the last 3-4 weeks?

This is why I don't believe the conspiracy theories.

The day I do, is the last game I watch.

I can believe they have favs, biases and teams they try to help... bit where the game is already decided.... may as well watch wrestling then
I stopped watching WWF as a child in the 80s the day I realized something was not right.

I don't believe in conspiracy theories and "scripted" games, but I believe the Chiefs get convenient holding, PI, personal fouls called against their opponents or not called against them in just the right time to extend their drive or stop their opponents' drive in a key moment in a game. Too many instances IMO for it to be just random and to ignore it...

Of course this does not take the timing of the penalty in account but in the last SB (Super Bowl LVIII) the 49ers had 6 penalties for 40 yards & the Chiefs had 6 penalties for 55 yards. No offensive holding for the Chiefs. No defensive penalties for the 49ers. So in effect the Chiefs offensive line played an almost perfect game as did the 49ers defense.

List of all accepted penalties.

49ers - False Start for 5 yards
49ers - False Start for 5 yards
49ers - False Start for 5 yards
49ers - False Start for 5 yards
49ers - Offensive Holding for 10 yards
49ers - Offensive Holding for 10 yards

Chiefs - Defensive Holding for 5 yards
Chiefs - Defensive Offside for 5 yards
Chiefs - False Start for 5 yards
Chiefs - Horse Collar Tackle for 15 yards
Chiefs - Intentional Grounding for 10 yards
Chiefs - Unnecessary Roughness for 15 yards

I don’t think there is some sort of agenda the officials have been given to make sure to rule in the favor of the Chiefs. That would be a massive conspiracy which would be impossible to keep under wraps. I agree they do qet a lot of questionable calls go in their favor but at this point, the Chiefs and Mahomes are like the Chicago Bulls and Michael Jordan during their 3 peat. So dominant for such a long time, that the offcials give them the benefit of the doubt without even realizing it. I don’t think they are consciously picking the Chiefs or have been told to do so, IMO

Yeah, basically what I think. Refs like Andy, refs like Mahomes, maybe they're even star struck to a degree, who knows. I just know what I see when I watch them play...

The frustrating thing is the Chiefs and Mahomes dont really need any help from the officials. They are already really really good.

Call the game fair and nobody would think or say they’re cheating. Stop allowing their Tackles from holding and jumping offside on darn near every passing attempt. And guess what most will not say they’re cheating.

On the very first snap against the Chargers, Tunsil left early. It wasn’t called. They give Tunsil an early start multiple times per game…every single game. Are you concerned about that?
