The NFL has turned to crap under God'ell's watch. Heck you cant even tackle the QB anymore. The game has turned into a flag fest, why? it's rigged. That's why Snyder Is untouchable, The NFL is a Cabal.
Bad leadership.nfl was always a cabal, the only difference under Gooddell as opposed to Tags is that the curtain is permanently pulled back.
As if the outcome was gonna be any better for him without this article, With it, He has effectively signed his death warrant if he plans on trying to blackmail other owners.
this wont end well for him…especially if he goes at Jerry.
Bad leadership.
Lol, Goodell’s not that incompetent…he’s just the guy who got the gig at the wrong time where social media and TMZ have the ability to pierce that veil & can keep that curtain pulled back on all the crap that happens that we don’t know about…..& he’s not leading ****. He’s doing what the owners want him to do..b/c he is paid to be the shield against people flinging poo at NFL owners…IOW’s he’s just doing his job…..& whomever inherits the gig after him will be used in the same way by the owners. If you blame anyone, blame the owners who as a whole are by far the most conservative of all league owners of the 4 major sports and who have always been slow to change with the times….bunch of old 70+ year old men…
Snyder has learned from his likely idol in trying to smear everyone around him to try to get what he wants…Its just the world we live in these days and the one all of us on the outside of that 1% uber rich bubble have all always suspected.
The rich don’t play by the same rules as we are expected to….but they’re still flawed like us.

Tags was about the game 1st then the money. Think about the Star caps and Bounty gate.
Yep. It is getting to the point of being boring and I'm slowly losing interest as a fan. Then, add the drive to water down the overall product more with expansion teams, and this league is going to devolve into over-officiated bad, bland football that promotes arena league style play to cater to the ever shortening attention spans of the TikTok generations.
Disagree. Tagliabue was just another Consigliere for these football mafia billionaires. Remember he was actively involved in the coverup of clear evidence of CTE and brain trauma many years before it became public knowledge.
He was also part of the on-going scam to convince cities that sports venues were more important infrastructure investments than roads, bridges, schools, fire/police salaries, and many other critical components of public concern.
The NFL is nothing but an entertainment business whose primary goal is to make more money for their billionaire owners. It has been that way since before the merger, which is why the AFL owners wanted a piece of that pie.
The NFL's overpaid mouth-pieces - i.e. commissioners - are nothing but but cover that they can hide behind to avoid too much public scrutiny.
The O vs D strategic fans certainly are no longer catered too.

You can't be serious. Have you ever been on a sideline of a nfl or even a college game? I don't know what you're talking about with the flag football. Even in high school, I'm willing to bet you can't survive even those hits. You're underestimating that physicality of the game. You act like Tags and Rozzelle didn't have all kinds of problems when they were commissioner. Of course they all have dirt on each other except for the new guys into the club. Thats why they didn't want their books opened in a Watson lawsuit. The NFL has turned to crap under God'ell's watch. Heck you cant even tackle the QB anymore. I'm saying defenseless players on the football field shouldn't be a thing, but I understand. That penalty against Falcons and the one against KC were straight trash. Under the old rules, you wouldn't see smallish wr's consistently going over the middle, but I understand. Even with all the extra rules to protect the players, its still the most physical sport you can play that harms the body. I find it contradictory that they claim player safety, but the add a game and play on Thursdays. Football will never be safe, but they have to do things to make it safer than in the past. No different than iron workers or underwater weldings. If you say so
Are you saying that tackling the QB without getting a penalty isn't a crapshoot. Or that the defenseless receiver hasn't made WR's nbers make a huge jump? If so, I disagree.

No they dont have to make it safer. People who play know the risks. They've done about all they can to make the game safer. Doing this they've made the game a glorified AFL game. Can you even play defense anymore? Used to WR's were judged by their toughness and willingness to go over the middle.
There's a reason Brady is able to still play at age 45 is because of the QB hands off policy.
It's almost unwatchable. The reason I still like NFL football is because I love high school and college football and I like to see how the guys progress in the NFL. Plus I enjoy talking football with you guys. I really enjoy talking football with you because we have totally different visions of how the Texans should be rebuilt. Respect
I think you guys are glorifying and interjecting some nostalgia into old football. Sure some of the hits draw flags, but there are still plenty of big-time hits that are clean and do not get penalized. Bad calls have always been a part of sports, there is nothing new with that. What's new is the ability to whine all the time on the internet about it.
You do realize Cooper kubb is the size of Andre Johnson, right. Now wes welker and Julian Edleman are different, but why are we acting like the 3 amigos were big guys or the fun bunch or the wr with earnest givens and company?Man no. No way in hell a little shrimp like Cooper Kupp would feel comfy as he does coming across the middle on a slant if he knew there was a consistently threat of having his block knocked off by say a Bobby Wagner. These WR's have no fear and the NFL has done its best to allow for arena football style scoring to become the norm. There are just so many rules against offenses that are not enforced or rarely called that should be...& OC's take advantage of that.
So Iron workers knew the risk of their job, but they shouldn't have invented safety tie points and harnesses? We know the risk of HIV, but we should't provide condoms either huh? No matter your occupation, and nfl football is an occupation, it should be made safer like any other occupation. Whether its assembly lines or text tile mills, they should be made safer. Coal miners know the risks, that doesn't mean they should show up to work and expect the mine to collapse on their head.No they dont have to make it safer. People who play know the risks. They've done about all they can to make the game safer. Doing this they've made the game a glorified AFL game. Can you even play defense anymore? Yep. They didn't change the rule of going low on qb's when Trent Green got taken out, they called it the Brady rule after Brady got taken out game 1The NFL made a concerted effort to change the rules to benefit offenses, and as a result those changes ultimately watered down defenses. That's not even debatable. The stats themselves reveal a massive explosion in offensive production, to the point that 5,000+ yard passing seasons are no longer rare.
Even Tom Brady talked about it last season:
Tom Brady says QBs are being rewarded for dumb plays, reveals what he'd change about NFL rules
The future Pro Football Hall of Famer said that quarterbacking is not being taught the right way anymore because signal-callers used to have to throw the ball into very specific areas to protect their wide receivers from getting blind-sided.
"A quarterback should only throw the ball to certain places, because your receiver is in danger of getting hit," Brady said.
Brady brought up how, when he played against legendary Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis, he wouldn't throw to the middle of the field because Lewis would knock players out of the game.
"And now, every hard hit is a penalty on the defense," Brady said. "So I feel like they penalize defensive players for offensive mistakes."
Brady isn't just speaking on penalties in the passing game. He also has a problem with how quarterbacks -- like himself -- are protected even when they fail to protect themselves. Brady spoke about how if the offensive line makes a mistake in blocking or a quarterback fails to register an approaching blitzer coming in like a missile, that eventual big hit could be flagged.
"If you're a quarterback you gotta protect yourself and your players," Brady said. "It shouldn't be the responsibility of your opponent to protect you. It creates really bad habits for players because you feel like 'I can basically do anything. I can run and not slide, I can throw my receiver into any coverage and not have any repercussion for it.' The only thing they're gonna do is they're actually going to blame the defensive player for making a good solid hit, and now the defensive player is going to feel like, 'Oh I can't do that,' even though I feel like it was an offensive mistake.
"In the end, I think it's a disservice to the sport because the sport isn't being played at a high level like I believe that it once was. It actually deteriorates because you're not teaching the players the reasons and the fundamentals of what the sport should be."

Very difficult, but teams with good defense find a way. They mostly wrap tackle or gator roll guys.-you cant hit qb’s low
-You cant “fall” on qbs with all your body weight
- you’re discouraged from hitting them high for fear of any helmet to helmet contact that will cause a penalty..& your own health..
- cant grab a guy by the inside of tgeir shoulder pads (horse collar)
& There’s an unwritten agreement amongst players that you don’t go at a guys knees if you can help it.
how in the hell are you supposed to tackle anyone?
I have no problem with any of those rules. "It's football" is a silly statement. It’s not trying to put a player out of a career. Football is a game of skills and competitiveness. It is not the MMA.-you cant hit qb’s low

The NFL owners are no different than you and I except for the amount of money in their bank. That money affords them to do crimes and get it swept under rug. They all keep tabs on each other for an occasion such as this.
This is what the NFL is turning into. It's the new way to rig games-you cant hit qb’s low

I am a defensive guy but realizeNFL football is now a game where 300+ lb. dudes moving extremely fast are supposed to break the laws of basic physics to conform to rules that cater to offensive production.
Put flags on QBs if they are not supposed to be hit. Wrap them in bubble wrap. Give them four extra linemen. If the point of the new rules is to avoid violent collisions, then the very fundamental nature of the sport is being challenged.
There is nothing skillful about expecting big dudes to turn into Neo in the Matrix while midair to avoid a ducking offensive player. The rules changes are illogical. At some point we just have to accept that it is a dangerous sport by nature.
I am a defensive guy but realize
Most fans want offense. NFL recognizes this plus the scarcity and expense of QB leads to a more hands off approach. However it is not as bad as some posters here make it to be. Every NFL game that I have watched I thought some late hits on a quarterback were not called. The skill I am referring to is not expecting any player to stop in midair as you state but in maneuvering an offensive player around so the defensive beast can get to the quarterback. Every season we see NFL quarterbacks go down from legitimate hits so I don't think quarterbacks are overprotected but rather the issue is how referees call the game.

Football is not about knocking your opponent on his azz or handling getting knocked on yours. It is about leverage, quickness; strength applied at the right place at the right time to defeat an opponent. Hip swivel or anchor, lateral movement and balance.
Fat guys seem to prefer Sumo type football. I prefer a JJ Watt body type going against that of former Cowboy Tyron Smith.

I agree with you. However, at the same time you have to realize that some of the things that trigger a flag now. They are due to new knowledge on safety and health.
Free advice to Dan Snyder:
1. Forbes has your team valued at 5.6B. Sell while the getting is good. That's a whole hellava of lot of money to enjoy the rest of your life on.
2. You could easily add to your pot of gold by announcing a "tell all" book based on the inside knowledge of the, "NFL Owners Club". This announcement would have every reputable publisher in the industry bringing blank checks to your doorstep.
3. Laugh your arse all the way to the bank, give Goodell the finger, then jet off to your own private island.
I think most of the owners want the prestige more than anything.Money isn't a motivator for these guys once they reach a certain level..& he can do #1 at any point...even if he loses and the other owners force him to sell. This is about power and being able to throw your weight around to get what you want. Gotta believe he's got enough money stashed away to do #3 already. This is about him getting to keep his beloved team.
