Connor Cook

I'm pretty sure the guy is basing his opinion there on what Chad Reuter actually said in the article.
I'm not so sure about that, Chad said Cook may not be a first rd pick, all of the effusive praise was Caleb. Chad didn't really offer any scouting evaluations, he was basing his comments on a feeling.

Reuter said "toughness and leadership" ... "enough to pick him in the first" ... "run a pro-style offense quite effectively for years" ...

... all in an article he'd originally wrote pairing senior prospects as a good fit with particular teams.

The campus author, and the poster there, didn't just get those things out of nowhere is the point. They got them from Reuter.

“There’s nothing particularly flashy about Cook’s game, so maybe he isn’t going to earn first-round grades........ But I have a feeling at least a couple of teams will appreciate his toughness and leadership abilities .".......and now you know the rest of the story.

Yes, he said those things. He said those things as well as the things he said to inspire both the article and the post a while ago, which was the point of saying they got those things from Reuter.

If Reuter doesn't write that article then that post doesn't happen and you aren't questioning the validity of it. They got those things from Reuter.

I think Cook has somewhere above game manager and below elite written all over him ...

Of course you'd think such a nuance can't exist when listening to most people evaluate that position ...

I think Cook's ceiling is a Flacco/Eli type. Good enough to get you there if you put a great cast around him and he gets hot at the right time.

I would rather have something more, but I could work with that. We'd need a new GM though, because "great cast" isn't happening here.

Joe Flacco -Alex Smith is about where I see him as well...

Besides the interception, he did alright 22 out of 35, 318 yds and his second 4TDs game but that last TD play where the receiver was clearly out of bounds just screwed Michigan State out of a playoff spot. So let's see what he does against Ohio State in 2 weeks.

I still have no idea what he was thinking on that final play. Can't hold the ball that long and then toss a softball out of bounds.

I agree, not a good look when you're in that situation. The pocket was breaking down but you expect Cook to have understanding of the clock when the game and possibly their playoff hopes were on the line.

The play was definitely suspect, but Michigan St should have played better D on the plays leading up to that. Also on the series that the Spartans had the ball prior to Nebraska GW series, it looked as though they were just going through the motions on the running plays. They should have understood Nebraska had 2 timeouts and the momentum after just scoring.

Connor needs to have monster game vs Maryland for me and he cannot do that standing by coach on sidelines

Nope. They've trotted this backup out here or there before as a duel threat changeup. Now they've got him actually playing a little bit of actual QB.

Wow, Mich St took possession of the ball 6 times in Maryland territory and only scored a 1 FG. Cook injured his shoulder on his 2nd possession but continued to play the rest opf the first half. One thing I noticed about Cook that I haven't seen before is when pressured he gets rattled and short arms the ball. Accuracy has not been good This may well have been Cook's worst half football he's played at Mich St. 6 of 20 for 30 YDs 1 INT 30% comp.

Cook hasn't played in the 2nd half.

Cook likely suffered a posterior dislocation/subluxation with potential labral damage and rotator cuff tear, according to Dr. CND.

They might try to play him. Might not work out. May require arthroscopy.

Potential bad news for QB needy teams who either 1) wanted Cook to push better prospects down the board or 2) interested in drafting Cook.

Cook said what a player is supposed to say. Now let's hope they act on good medical advice rather than playing unlicensed Doctor.

the final stats for Connor Cook in this game was 19 out of 26 passes, 3TDs, 248 yds all in all, a good day. the shoulder didn't hinder any of his throws but now he has a big game to impress everybody in the Big 10 Championship like throw 5TDs over 350 yds not a team in the NFL even the Texans wouldn't dare try to pass him up

If he can win in Lucas Oil, then we need to draft him.

Joking.

Kinda.

A 22-play 9:04 82 yard game winning drive. He was the MVP of the game when he didn't play at his best 16/32 191 yds and 1 INT. if the Texans do not draft this kid then, Bill O'Brien and Rick Smith need to be fired immediately after the draft
