CJ Stroud year 2

Maybe because the critique of Stroud was totally over the top, ill-informed, and completely unwarranted. And those posts are saved for the life of this forum. Now if you don't like posters bringing back previous posts, maybe make them a little less outrageous in the future.
I really could care less, bring them back if you wish. Enjoy living in the past, I'm choosing to live in the future. Others opinions of me don't affect my life a bit.

Waste all of the time you wish with their lives. How they choose to spend their time on earth is their choice. I'll just choose to laugh at people like this.

It's not a fact, is it? That makes it an opinion. And since this is a forum and not a internet blog, we treat opinions for what they are worth. Which is zip, nada, nothing. Be it yours, mine, or anyone else's.

The guy who masterminded the switch from the Texans forum to this existing forum many years ago once told me to let members define themselves with their posts. We know who each other are by what we say under the anonymity of the internet.
Yeah. He was right… up until about 10 years ago. Not so much these days. I agree with the aspect that one needs to be more careful with what they say but we aren’t anonymous anymore. That simply isn’t true. No I don’t know your name in real life but I -have- seen you. I believe you were with Gwaillia at a UH game. I’m just saying that as time goes… the more -real-life- connections I get from folks all around. Six degrees of separation I guess. How we manage ourselves online is a process that changes over the years… especially the more we get to know each other. We learn to taper and manage our emotions better. Kinda like how we do when we actually interact in person. Human nature type of stuff… right?

:)

It's the year 2029 and CJ Stroud just led the Texans to their third Super Bowl victory in the last 5 years, earning his third SB MVP award.

SteelB: Man, it is amazing what this guy has done for our team. He has surpassed AJ and JJ as the all-time face of the franchise. First ballot HOFer!

TTMB: No no no! We have receipts from 2023 when you said mean things about him. We will never get over it!!!

For one I don’t live in no glass house and I most definitely don’t act like I’m perfect. Second of all I wasn’t even talking about you. I never seen you piss on players like certain members do to only a select few of players or a certain GM.
Finally it’s about the team and cheering for their success. I go with the highs and lows and right now I’m riding that high wave like a mofo.

Again a player shouldn’t be talked about in that manner. And throwing his mother in it is very whack to me.
I know.

It’s like this… when I hear SteelB discuss Mulghetta or CnD discuss Watson… I bring a half-cocked smile to my face and then I eyeroll… and I simply keep reading. I don’t feed the trolls for months and months and months. They’ll either shut up about it or they’ll change their minds. Just keep chuckling and scrolling… and maybe y’all be able to move out of that glass house you don’t live in.

FYI… I am not talking about a -specific- person with the glass house reference. I mean “yall” in the loosest sense of the word.

It’s a sensitivity issue. People are still butt hurt that their hero was talked bad about. Several months ago. Which is over a few years ago in internet time.

It just interrupts the flow of football talk to keep bringing up the past.

I purposely don’t kick up dirt on other posters because I know what it will eventually become and I have too much appreciation for you mods to have to deal with it.

It goes back to the crazy uncle analogy. Do you ask your crazy uncle any questions? No - because he is going to say something crazy. Maybe discriminatory or offensive. You just don’t travel down that road unless you’re bored.

The reality is that if someone is offended by what a poster says on this board then they have options to deal with that. If it breaks the rules then report it and the mods will deal with it, if it offends you personally this forum has a fantastic ignore function that basically makes it so from your point of view that person doesn't exist. If you go with neither of these options and choose to engage them yourself you are basically giving up your right to be offended because you are choosing to engage them on their level and on their choice of battle ground. Its like bringing a knife to a gun fight then getting mad when you get shot.

That being said users also have the right to bring up what someone said even years ago if they so choose. The fact is they did say it, though we had several cases were a person didn't actually say something but it was spread so much people thought they did, and this forum is a semi-permanent record. They may walk it back and say they were wrong and that's great but it doesn't mean it just goes away and is forever forgotten. The person that has their old posts brought up also gives up their right to be offended as they have the same two options to allow them to not have to engage with someone digging up the past. We had a poster on here for a long time that literally had over half of the regular posters on ignore. While that isn't for me, because frankly it would be boring to open a thread and see only like two posts, I do give them credit for using the system as it was intended and not trying to argue about it.

This just in:

CJ Stroud doesn’t care about the naysayers. We should get over our hurt feelings.

Why do all those guy's video's switch to a silent art class before they're done
Lol I was wondering the same thing. And didn’t use to be like that.

So they don't get a youtube copy right strike. If you just post the clip by itself ESPN can strike it down for copy right infringement and possibly sue, but if you add custom content to it, such as an art class, then it falls under fair use. Youtube may still take it down, since they are a private company and can ban or allow content as they please, but you can't be sued.

Except that guy is cutting off the content he is supposedly marketing. Cutting the videos so short that they're basically worthless

Didn't say they were doing a good job just explaining why they are doing it. Also as far as money on youtube goes remember all that matters is that you get a click. Even if someone thumbs down a video that is still considered interaction and is a net positive for your channel. The only thing that thumbs downing something really does is adjusts the algorithm so that the viewer is less lightly to see that subject/channel in the future.

Historical purposes? LMFAOOOOOO. Open your eyes… Content here gets -routinely- edited and deleted to fit narratives. We are all being gas lit and you don’t even know it.

SMH.

I’ll tell you what… if you and steel can let y’all’s grudges go… You can sit next to me. SteelB can sit on the other side of me. I’ll buy you -both- a beer -while- Watson gives me a massage. For clarity… I wasn’t literally offering tickets. Just the beer.

Let’s effin’ gooooo, Texans!

Had a few beers with SteelB in Chicago 2012. We had a good time.

Really? I've been on here for awhile and I've met exactly 1 person in real life.

Besides SteelB I have met one or two at tailgates and several in Baltimore 2011 night before party. My wife is allergic to fun so in our dozen or so years of being ticketholders we only went to 2 tailgates.

WTH.

I was at that game, too. I didn't know y'all were there.

I thought it was the Denver game?

My mind isn't as sharp as it used to be though.

Oh for F's sake can we not enjoy one day of being division champions again without playing the he said, she said game. Ultimately it doesn't matter what anyone said in the past just what is being said today and today no one anywhere on this board thinks the Texans don't have a franchise QB and a culture changing HC. Hell even Caserio is getting his flowers from the board. Lets just enjoy this playoff run however long or short it is, and save the arguing about who is prettier for the off season when we will need something to entertain us.
Evidently Cary doesn't want to enjoy the season...

It's fair game, because it's an opinion about a football player, or those in the organization. And while a personal attack on a member is not allowed, attacking that member's opinion (currrent or past) is totally fair game. Like it or not.
probably just me, but I do not think it should be fair game to assassinate a player, owner, coach/team staff etc character. Rules should be same for them as members. Criticize all you want but profanity, shaming, insulting, etc should have no place on board. Trash talking can be done without that.

I agree. I even quoted SteelB when he recanted and said now we can move on but people still can’t.

People like to climb in their ivory towers, look down on the peasants and preach a holier than though sermon.

This actual reporter interview is scary, dude turned into a friggin demon on camera…..

Has any player in any sport ever completely trashed something like this?

Kevin Garnett and standardized test scores like the SAT/ACT. From what I recall he had trouble with it. I can’t remember the whole story. Something that he was going to go to college but couldn’t pass the test so he went pro.

That does ring a bell. Thanks

"The song we were playing when we walked in was that 'Get Back a Motherf---er,'" Texans tight end Brevin Jordan told ESPN. "We didn't have C.J. Stroud [in Week 16], and when we went back and watched the film, there was always a guy or two not on the correct targets or assignments. It is just one of those games where we corrected it, and we took that game personally."

But seriously, this guy has far exceeded my expectations on the field and after having observed him for an entire season i wish id have taken more time pre draft to learn about him as a person.

CJ has already accomplished so much and he could easily have let it go to his head some but he appears to be the same humble, genuine and focused guy that he has always been.

I saw where he played on Snoop's little league team and he said CJ is pretty much the same guy now that he was as a kid. Level headed, humble, focused and driven.

Im glad i didnt get my way in the draft and things turned out how they did.
