Exactly. On top of it all… SteelBTexan is trying to enjoy this right now… and I say…. Let him enjoy it along with us. He’s been here longer than most of us… and I’ve been here since day one. We’ve all gone through a lot of pain. Let’s get back to cheering the good guys on. The more guys we have on the sidelines, the merrier. SteelB’s earned it. Lay off, y’all. It’s killing the mood for the rest of us.
My vote goes to Stroud for President and to SteelBTexan for House of Representatives.

Nobody is ragging on Steel. I said he switched up his stance. So how in the world did anyone think someone was attacking him. The only issue I have with him was how he went about attacking CJ’s character. Like I said he’s onboard now.

We have all been wrong on player eval’s from time to time. I’m fine with that part. But when someone gets into character assassination that’s a horse of a different color.
Calling someone dumb and slow, talking about their father and saying due to Dad he won’t amount to anything, whining about his college, who his friends are, using racist overtones and tropes, talking about the way he speaks
personal shots like those should be called out and unacceptable on this board. Now he is slowly backtracking and that’s fine but speaking of history…all those comments and more are here for historical purposes.

Oh for F's sake can we not enjoy one day of being division champions again without playing the he said, she said game. Ultimately it doesn't matter what anyone said in the past just what is being said today and today no one anywhere on this board thinks the Texans don't have a franchise QB and a culture changing HC. Hell even Caserio is getting his flowers from the board. Lets just enjoy this playoff run however long or short it is, and save the arguing about who is prettier for the off season when we will need something to entertain us.

I know this quote is actually a reference to a medical report by Pope but it still applies. This constant rehashing of “he said/she said” is souring our Texans playoffs adrenaline high. Nobody’s been -this- excited since 19-10. Here we are… 22 years later… primed for the prime time. I’m just saying… C’mon guys… we need to be singing kumbaya together. This, and only this is the reason I stopped posting on this board. I wrote time after time that I was happy to have been wrong about Stroud. But even the smallest critique of him created spite and admonishment. So I threw it back. I shouldn't have. Human beings learn how to shame others in real life early on. What kind of self-loathing masochist would log online for more? And I know both sides try to shame the other side into submission. Had Stroud been a bust, I know full well a number of fans here would be letting the others have it. Self-aggrandizing and shaming others is the backbone of social media. Which is why I have been weening myself off of it.
I'm going to enjoy THIS Texans run with my laptop closed.

I will say it once more since there is confusion, and I only speak for me. But people’s opionons on Stroud the player, whether good, bad, or in the middle are not the subject of my ire. Not even one slightest teeny tiny bit. I’ve ragged on players or potential players many times. Hell I thought Jalen Carter would bust and I had major character concerns. Instead he is lighting it up. I was wrong.

Very few on here (ONE) questioned Stoud's character. I definitely didn't want him pre-draft. Once the Texans drafted him, I was 100% on the Stroud bandwagon. Just like I am every draft.

It was mostly a couple of guys, they know who they are…and I love both those guys. Yes that’s you Steel and Texian. I like both of these guys much and they add a lot here. But Sometimes you gotta be real and say your truth. Let’s keep our critiques above board and stay away from character assaults for guys that haven’t proven to deserve it. See Watson, DeShaun.

It's fair game, because it's an opinion about a football player, or those in the organization. And while a personal attack on a member is not allowed, attacking that member's opinion (currrent or past) is totally fair game. Like it or not.
Maybe because the critique of Stroud was totally over the top, ill-informed, and completely unwarranted. And those posts are saved for the life of this forum. Now if you don't like posters bringing back previous posts, maybe make them a little less outrageous in the future.

Personally attacking a player’s character IMO is not just an opinion. CJ’s character shouldn’t have been drugged through the shitters like that. He did nothing to warrant that. And that shouldn’t have been allowed. Now if he did stuff to warrant it, then yes it’s fair game.

The guy who masterminded the switch from the Texans forum to this existing forum many years ago once told me to let members define themselves with their posts. We know who each other are by what we say under the anonymity of the internet.

You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. Strouds choice of agents made me question his character and rightfully so after the Derrick episode. I still don't like this a bit and think there's going to be a price to be be paid in a couple of yrs. But I'm happy right now and I'm living in the moment.

Finally it’s about the team and cheering for their success. I go with the highs and lows and right now I’m riding that high wave like a mofo.
