I'll throw in $500.00
300.00 for the fighting dog and 100.00 for the throw down dog and 100.00 for Vick to teach Stroud how to get Strouds dog to fight, if this means this ignorant bleep is suspended for a couple of years.
I'm almost afraid to ask. Who is this ignorant bleep in this nonsensical narrative?
I honestly think that the joint practices are where CJ is really going to grow. I’m not too worried right now. There are always growing pains.
Probably nerves. If it continues then yes it could be a problem but Bill Belichick welcomed Stroud to the NFL with open arms. It’s strange to me that his footwork was so off. From what I remember pre draft footwork and the mechanical stuff was a big plus of his

At 3When does Carolina play?
This depends on if you think you can make the playoffs or not. If you think you can then you play the QB that you think can win the most games instead of worrying about developing Stroud. If not then you lose more games and hopefully Stoud learns from his mistakes. This really comes down to which philosophy the McNair's want the team to have. I'm betting they want Stroud out there as soon as possible for marketing reasons, winning be damned. He's a rookie QB who is going to struggle in his rookie season because that's what a vast majority of rookie QBs do. You don't learn all the tricks of the trade and become an All Pro playing parts of 3 preseason games. This will be an ongoing season long thing. What you're looking for is growth over the course of the season because the mistakes and bad games are going to happen.
And it would be nice if this OL they've invested heavily in can stay heathly and give the young man some help so that he doesn't get Carr'd.
This team is likely to win 5-7 games this year and that's with not really knowing what to expect from the division. Hell, they might end up going 4-2 there, so not saying they can't win more, or that they can't win less, but that's where I've got them, and Vegas does too for that matter. And sorry, but having Mills start isn't going to make things any better. That's only going to waste time and prolong Stroud's development.
Deculus didn't look as bad as I thought when I watched the game. I still think his run blocking is strong, his pass pro, after watching this, is almost good. He had one bad, really bad, play. but the rest he looked... almost good. I'd say he's an upgrade over caveman most fans loved a while back. Luckily, he's not expected to start. But he can very well develop into a starter in this league.
hmmm....we will just have to agree to disagree..."RE-deculus" got smoked on almost every snap that Stroud took...he did play better after Stroud went out and the pats changed out some of their dline.Deculus didn't look as bad as I thought when I watched the game. Scruggs looks good.
Dieter looks like a smart capable guard.
26... has absolutely no conception of pass pro. None.
Is 5 games in 2 seasons the "most games" you think the Texans can win? You think the development is over for the guy with the 5-19-1 record and 83.3 QB rating? This depends on if you think you can make the playoffs or not. I'm only talking about the plays posted in the QB school video I quoted. If you can point to the poor Deculus plays in that video I'd love to rewatch them & discuss.hmmm....we will just have to agree to disagree..."RE-deculus" got smoked on almost every snap that Stroud took...he did play better after Stroud went out and the pats changed out some of their dline.
Juice held his own and not sure on the one bad play he had if there was a miscommunication and he was handing off the defender to someone else or the other person was supposed to pick him up due to protection called...
and yes 26 looked a little lost and def way too soft when chipping to help out.
I actually think they could win 10 games with Keenum and possibly win 10 games with Mills. I don't think they win 10 games with Stroud. With this defense they really only need solid mistake free QB play and I think they win 10 games. This is unlikely to happen with a rookie QB.Is 5 games in 2 seasons the "most games" you think the Texans can win? I think the Texans could win 10 games with Mills. It would probably take 3 seasons, but it could be done.possibly win 10 games with Mills
Deculus got beat soundly 3 times and got beat late on another play (where CJ rolled to the left).I'm only talking about the plays posted in the QB school video I quoted. If you can point to the poor Deculus plays in that video I'd love to rewatch them & discuss.

We had several chances to pull out a couple of more wins last year with a less talented team and a very bad defense....given our improvement on both sides of the ball as well as the improvement on the sidelines...I would say we have a reasonable chance given all this AND a weak schedule.I don't care who the QB is, the Texans aren't winning 10 games this year. The roster just isn't good enough. Maybe next year.
The Texans are still a crummy team, but hopefully will be an improved crummy team this year. These pie in the sky predictions are only setting up some folks for disappointment. Of course, disappointment is what we're used to anyway.
I think DeMeco will change all this. But not in his first year.

But then again thats just me looking at it thru my cool polarized Texans Homer Glasses! LOL
Totally disagree with you on this.I think the Texans could win 10 games with Mills. It would probably take 3 seasons, but it could be done.
Sorry to say that your record on QB evaluation is very hit and miss.Totally disagree with you on this.
Mills is much better than some around here think he is. With that said it was time to move on, just not to Stroud.
I've hit on Jimmy G and Mahomes.Sorry to say that your record on QB evaluation is very hit and miss.
GoffI've hit on Jimmy G and Mahomes.
Who have I missed on?
Lets talk about your QB evals.
Was Goff really a miss? He lead a team to a SB and played very well last yr. I thought he could lead a franchise like he has. I never thought he was on the Elway/Manning type generational type guys. The McNair's will be lucky if Stroud turns out to be as good as Goff.Goff

I dont remember saying that. But it's quite possible that I did. He's certainly upped his game last yr. Holmes knew what he had.You were saying Goff was a bust when he got traded
You like Peterman, Kelly, Kaaya, Tannehill,I've hit on Jimmy G and Mahomes.

Tell us more about your evals, starting in the last 10 yrs.You like Peterman, Kelly, Kaaya, Tannehill,
You thought Lawrence and Fields were trash.
.......
Me, I've been quite consistent since I joined the board since 2006.
I always said that I would put my QB evaluation record against any professional.
I like watching Case play, but safe & mistake free isn't in his wheel house. He's a baller, piss poor decisions-be-damned.With this defense they really only need solid mistake free QB play and I think they win 10 games.
JimmyGI've hit on Jimmy G and Mahomes.

I'll give you credit. You got Mahomes right. Jimmy G is overrated. However, you wanted to spend a 2nd round pick on Peterman. You missed on Jameis Winston and Trubisky. There might be others, but those jump out. Especially Nate Peterman.I've hit on Jimmy G and Mahomes.

In the real NFL draft you draft if you want Howard/Peterman then draft Howard and trade to the top of the 2nd and pick Peterman.
We Texans fans dont want to admit this, but Peterman has looked better than Watson this preseason.
Nah we good. Richardson was alright for a raw qb. AS for whether him or Minshew starts remains to be seenRichardson threw his first interception in his first series. Bet yall Colts fans are losing it. Lol
First off, I was a Julius Peppers guy.Tell us more about your evals, starting in the last 10 yrs.
The guys you listed I didn't have as 1st rd picks. Kinda like this yrs class. I would've picked a QB but not in the 1st rd. Actually I would've signed Minshew to a 2 yr deal.
I still dont think Lawrence or fields are all that. Lawrence is Clemson trash though. He's very lucky Perderson got hooked up with him.
Links?First off, I was a Julius Peppers guy.
Avoiding Carr would have been big for the franchise.
Palmer in 2003 was a no brainer though I don't recall people calling him the generational type.
The next year, I was quite busy so I didn't know Eli from Rivers or Big Ben.
I didn't watch Schaub either.
The Texans were stuck with Carr anyway.
Same goes for 2005, I didn't watch much college football, and I didn't know either Smith or Rodgers.
I got back to the scene for the 2006 draft, joining the TT board.
Said no to both VY and Bush.
I'd take Mario. Another disaster avoided.
In 2007, I said no to Russell, Quinn and Kolb (an UH guy; I'm not a homer).
For that reason, I looked for FA, and I thought Schaub can fit the offense, like how an old Elway.
For me and TexansMike to be wanting Schaub should tell you that I was not a fan of that QB class.
In 2008, I said yes to Matt Ryan. Talked about him on the draft forum.
Also, ThreeToePete and I were the only two who said Flacco can be a late first rounder.
How many people dared to make that call?
We certainly didn't get any buyer.
In 2009, I said yes to Stafford (he improved every year in college) and said no to Sanchez and Freeman.
I said Sanchez is a product of a good USC offense (same as Barkley).
In 2010, I said Iike Bradford, but I'm concerned with his injury.
Said no to both Tebow and Clausen.
Tebow was a tremendous college QB, but I just didn't think his game will translate at the next level.
In 2011, I said yes to Newton.
That he's more than just a big powerful QB.
It's just a matter if he can take the next step as a true QB.
But he was a pretty good prospect.
He did throw for 400 yards plus in his first two games as a rookie, right?
Too bad he remained a bit too inconsistent in the passing game.
In that same year, I said no to Locker, Gabbert, and Ponder. All went in the first round.
I said I'd take Dalton instead; he's a smart QB.
That was another great call; I need to pat myself on the back yet again.
I can't remember the SN of the poster who was as against Gabbert as I was, but yes, we did think he will be a bust.
I watched Karpernick some, and I mentioned that he's worth to take a flier on. I even talked about his unorthodox release and more.
Said no to Ryan Mallett in any round.
Yates, a good prospect in the fifth round, ran an almost-exact copy cat system as Kubiak's.
(Yates said so).
No illusion here, but he was worth a 5th rd pick for the Texans.
I'll pick it up later.
Will be more of the same???
