CJ Stroud year 2

Of course they aren't dating, it's too early, they are just banging...

She's not a porn star and she's not a massage therapist so already better that Watson. She doesn't do anything for me, don't find bald women attractive, but hey if that's what he's into. She's got a net worth of 12 million which is a far cry from Brady's ex worth of 400 million that she was making when he was playing and could afford to take less money but 12 million ain't nothing to sneeze at and CJ is still on his rookie contract so there is still time for him to find a richer one before he signs his extension. I have faith in him to do what's best for the team and find that very rich woman.

I’m sure there are plenty of websites to visit that cater to this type of discussion. Good luck with your search.

Oh yes because the personal life of a star QB has absolutely no effect at all on a team. Never in the history of football, much less the Texans, has who a QB sees and what he does off the field affected a team's future or their chances of winning. All that matters is what they do on the field and nothing else matters.

Glad we're in agreement and are sticking to football.

Actually the official rules say to just stick to the topic of the thread and since the topic is about CJ Stroud in general and not just about his on field performance you could make an argument that "gossip" about him is completely within the rules as long as its not political or religious. Though even that is a grey area considering how outspoken about his faith he is. But I digress.

I’m with Lucky. I have no idea who Amber Rose is, nor do I care. Unless something in a players personal life bleeds over to his football life I’d rather keep player threads to what happens between the lines, or items that can have an effect down the line. I don’t see Amber Rose having an impact. If he is dating…more power to him, but this isn’t People magazine or Cosmo. If you girls want to gossip like a bunch of 20 something’s getting their nails done, have at it. I’m not the thread police.

Well thank you, Mr. Helper. For further reading, try looking under the forum title.

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't CJ one of the Texan's players? Also if you are going that route then the first page of this thread talked about the validity of IQ tests, his agent and by page 2 there were posts about the 2012 Texans defense and the Astros. But I'll drop it because this is a pointless.

You think they would learn this after the last QB's perversions.

I guess that's asking to much for some posters.

You're arguing with a mod. They do whatever they want rules be damned. Surely you know this by now.

It does affect the football team and has affected the football team in the past. Things that affect the football team is football talk.

There's a huge difference between talking about a QB's dating life in a general sense, which is just idol chit-chat and gossip like a bunch of women talking about who their friends are sleeping with...and a QB facing legal challenges because he is being accused of sexual assault or, in the very best case,...being a total creeper. That does impact the team quite directly. Who CJ dates, or if he decides to just focus on football and dates nobody... who he hangs out with or doesn't...none of that affects the team directly. Again - I'm with Lucky. And I am not a mod. Just follow the rules. It's really pretty simple.

Does this post escape gossip label? It’s about people following other people on Instagram. No football talk.

Trying to figure out the line here.

From experience on other forums, this can very loosely be labeled football talk because it talks about a football player who may very well be an FA target of the team. Mind you I said very loosely

Will CJ Stroud reach the 5K passing mark next year? Will he have better than a 3:1 TD/INT ratio?
I was thinking about this last night and thought he wouldn't if we have a decent run game.
Probably about the 4,500 mark but Texans also enjoy more yards on the ground.
I can't see FO neglecting the run game this off season - we could have a scoring juggernaut with an additional stud receiver and RB.

If he does it likely means we won’t have much of a run game. Of the 15 5,000 yard passing seasons only 3 had running games crack the top 16.

It takes 295 yards a game in a 17 game season. Which is what he averaged last season. Averaging 15 more yards rushing a game puts them in the top 16.

IMO, that says Stroud doesn't need to change his passing performance for the rushing performance to be legitimate. I see it as an "and" not an "or".

Not saying it can't happen. Just giving out the history.

But for kicks and giggles, if he were to maintain his 8.2 Y/A, which was 3rd highest in the league, he'd have to attempt 609 passes to hit 5,000. Even if it drops to 7.8, which still would have been 6th best this year, that's 641 passes. The Texans had 592 pass attempts this season and a run game that was 22nd. The logic says to me that if the run game were to get better they wouldn't need to pass 35-37 times per game. In turn, if he's hitting 5,000 yards it's probably, most likely, going to be because they have to pass more because the run game isn't working.

Or lots of passes of over 20yrds which I believe he led the league in last year...or at least he did for a good while...not sure how it ended.

Not disagreeing with anything you say. I do think with a 17-game season that 5,000 seems more reachable than in the past. But in reality we only have a very small sample size with three times in the 17-game season era.

The Texans were 20th in the league in rush attempts, but 28th in YPA. They could maintain the same number of attempts but with a better average and be a top half of the league rushing offense.

Hopefully we don't need CJ to throw for 5,000 yards next season. But I do believe that they can improve the run game and make it legitimate for defenses to scheme for without taking a bunch of attempts away from the passing game. Brock Purdy threw for 4,300 yards and 31 TD's (in only 16 games) with the OPOY in the backfield and a rushing attack that averaged over 40 yards a game more than the Texans.

I don't disagree that 5,000 will be hit more often with the 17 game schedule, but so far it's been done 3 times in the 3 seasons since the increase.
Mahomes, Herbert and Brady.
Mahomes had 648 pass attempts with a run game that was 20th.
Herbert had 672 pass attempts with a run game that was 21st.
Brady had 719 pass attempts with a run game that was 26th.

So all of that is still in line with what I originally said. If CJ hits 5,000 it likely means the run game isn't giving us much.
