The bolded part is where we (and pretty much everyone else here) meet.
I see Fitz doing things he should know better than to do. I see Keenum doing a lot of those same things I admit but I've also seen him look better this year. I'm saying the main difference between them is how long each one has been doing stupid **** that kills drives and I think it's likely easier to break the guy who's been doing it for a year than it will be to break the guy who has been doing it for 12 years.
But in the long run I'm just hoping that whatever the Texans choose to do works and (as always) that they put the best guy on the field. That's something we haven't always seen out of this team in the past. I think every team plays guys from time to time knowing that they aren't necessarily the best guy they have available. Probably mostly it's about starting a high draft pick and hoping he'll get it. Sometimes it's a coach starting a favorite over someone that everyone else seems to think is better. Maybe it's starting a big salary over a little one to justify the cost. It happens.
I'm really hopeful about this regime. They don't seem to be all that set on any of that stuff. Maybe they just haven't had time to make mistakes they need to cover up or maybe they haven't found their favorites yet but I don't think so. I think OB just wants the guy who can get it done and doesn't really care how we get there. It's putting a smile on my face thinking that might be the case. I think it's a good year to be a Texans fan despite all the question marks.
Like I've said all along. If Case Keenum can't push Ftizpatrick to the bench then he's not...
