Broncos - Texans Game Thread

positives: defense look good against the run. 1st team offense looked pretty good. carr was sharp. nice TD by murphy. DD, wells and hollings have been running alright. babin sack.

negatives. Pbuch got beat. 4 times on the goalline and no TD. let their backup QB run for about 25. swinton dropped a couple of passes.

What's positive so far???????????????????

What's bad so far????????????????????

Defense was solid on the run and offense moved the ball. TJ looked good. Hollings ran well. DHog did "OK" except when Denver was showing Blitz, then he jumped the gun. Just over ancsouse (sp).

Seems like our backups are not all NFL quality. Big drop off when in.

Question? Are we seeing what they said Palmer would be doing with the play book. From what I'm reading and hearing it looks like last year all over again. I know its preseason and they're evaluating personnel, but it has the same old same old look. Am I wrong...............

Looks like we will be VERY run oriented, but the quick toss is in. Not running many slants yet.

Seems like a quick ball control game to me. I'm wondering how much they are really getting in the way of information. I would think they would show some of what they are trying to do. Makes me kind of suspicious about the season.

Have a right to be? But, I'm really being serious. If we have made as many changes as David said we have and its really all different, then you would think we would notice it.

You wouldn't see it in the preseason. This is the time to look at the kids and run the most vanilla offense you can. But like you I'm questioning the changes, but I'll wait till the first regualr season game to pass judgement.

i didn't see carr get pressured or sacked. thats a difference. but really, this is the first preseason game and i doubt they're gonna pull the whole playbook out. carr and DD played one series and we really didn't get to see much.

This is the preseseason. There's no game planning.

Texans:
6 for 11 for 77 yards passing.
17 carries for 58 yards rushing.

Denver:
10 for 16 for 115 yards passing.
13 carries for 77 yards rushing.

Denver ran a more balanced attack than we did with the same number of plays and had 192 yards vs our 145 yards.

one thing I have noticed by following the game on NFL.com, is that our run defense is looking really good.

and denver played plummer for 3 series. we played carr and DD for one series. plus they got lucky with that 25 yard scramble by their backup QB.

Actually, I think it was 40 yards by the QB. We have been stout against the run. Also, they played their first team much longer than we did.

funny thing is that is how the coaches taught me how to tackle.. put your head into the numbers

thats how i was taught too. i guess you can't do that to QBs these days.
