Breaking news:Gary Kubiak will be named head coach

Nobody isn't giving Shanahan his credit, hes a very good coach. The moves he made during the offseason raised alot of eyebrows and he was deeply ridiculed. Who would make trades to pick up the entire Cleveland Browns Dline, but it worked out. Denver is arguably the most consistent team in the NFL, it seems they always put a good product on the field. Its just that good coaches have good people working behind them and Kubiak is a big piece to the puzzle in denver. He is great at developing QBs and I can't wait to see what he does with this team. To me this is the perfect hire, if we can steal a little of Denvers Oline magic it will work wonders for this team. That is why Denver has been so successful they do three things great: They have great QB coaching and are excellent at developing players (Developing players to me has been the texans BIGGEST weakness). Also they always put out a top tier Oline, which is the biggest reason I like the hire. The texans biggest weaknesses have been QB develpment, player develpment and the Oline, that is why I think Kubiak was the perfect hire.

Pay attention to the next two days Chronicle. I know McClain is iffy but he is doing many reports like the one today with Rod Smith. He said Rod spent 45 minutes explaining how Kubes was the man and how he has made their team what it is. That story was today. Starting tomorrow or Sunday they will have transcripts of all of the Broncos they have interviewed about the guy to show how well he is respected. People who think this is a bad hire because of some random slight are pure and simply morons. I don't see how anyone can claim to know so much when the team has never won anything. Some people just aren't happy unless they are surly.

If Elway has any role, I see it as one that is similar to when Jim Mora Jr. had Steve Young come in and work with Michael Vick and help him with the west coast offense.

I really can't see John Elway having that big of a position on the team. I think he has too many other obligations to prevent him from putting in the work to be a full time coach in Houston.

That's exactly how I have heard it. Seems he and Kubiak are close and he MIGHT come as a consultant for a bit to get things off to a good rolling start. Primarily to work with the QB I think.

I really hope that the Broncos win & keep winning :redtowel:

Congratulations to the Broncos & the next Houston Texans Head Coach Gary Kubiac for beating those Chowder Head Patriots, next stop Indy or HOPEFULLY back in Denver to battle the Steal Curtain :redtowel:

just let me know WHEN its irresponsible journelism for major news tabloids to announce factual content just to grab headlines and be the first ones with the scoop when a team is still in the playoffs in contention for a Championship. now they got some serious Jungle Kharma :stirpot:

Is Shanahan the GM and coach? Coaches have little input.

Shanahan's official title is Executive Vice President of Football Operations/Head Coach. Seems top me like he does his job better than anybody other Head Coach/GM.

Yeah, I've watched football lately. And lately I haven't seen the Broncs do very much in the NFL, despite having some really good personnel. I remember the Broncs getting to a couple of SBs with Elway at the helm -- but who wouldn't be able to do that? What did he do after Elway left? Yes, the Broncs at times did get into the playoffs -- only to be knocked out in the first round and by embarrassing margins at that.

Kubiak has had a lot to work with in Denver over the years and when you take that into account, his accomplishments are marginal. If he comes here, he won't have near the personnel he has in Denver. He simply isn't a guy who can take something from scratch and make it happen.

The more you discuss this, the more Kubiak worries me. Heck, this guy isn't even on the same field as the defensive coaches! Since he has no experience in the NFL as a head coach and doesn't even interact with them as he focuses solely on offense -- well, this isn't good. I see another Norv Turner manifesting himself in Houston. Well, I guess you'll say that 4-12 is an improvement ...
Ummm, just how many SB's did Elway win without Kubiak? Gary has won 3 SB, working on number 4. He made Elway's career, not the other way aaround...

OMG this is the worst post ever. Let's not get goofy here trying to turn Kubiak into some God. John Elway was a special talent, and so was HOF QB Steve Young (his other SB ring). Kubiak and Reeves also thought Tommy Maddux was the man but couldn't turn chicken blank into chicken salad. Great talent makes coaches look great.

You have your opinion and you are entitled to it.
