I’d look long and hard at the Giants. I see them at a crossroads with QB, Daniel Jones being that 2023 will be Jones’ 5th year option and 2024 his FA season.
Overall, Jones just hasn’t produced through his first 3 seasons. He’s looked a little better this season but has it been enough For the Giants to give Jones a big contract to lock him up long term?
The Giants could be in a prime position to draft one of the slightly overrated CFB QB’s early in RD1….but that could easily put them into situation where they hit rewind on the Jones years only to relive them for another 3-5 years.
If Watson is good to go before the draft, the Giants could ask themselves if there’s ever going to be in a better opportunity to get a true “Franchise QB1” like Watson with a package of (3) RD1, (1) RD2, and (2) RD3 again. They have the draft capital (5 picks RD1-RD3 and 5 more picks RD4-RD7) this season to make it happen…..give up 2022 (2) RD1 and 2022 (1) RD3 / 2023 (1) RD1, (1) RD2, and (1) RD3.
I think Watson could come around to the idea of suiting up for the Giants mostly b/c of the market that comes with the signing.
