I don't think so at all. Hollings will make this team this year and contribute.TexanWolverine said:I guess I just dont like seeing the coaching staff basically say that we wasted a second round pick last year on Hollings.
Maybe the bust pick was Wells. Then again, DD is the only really productive back our YOUNG franchise has drafted. I can see the coaches making this pick.TexanWolverine said:I guess I just dont like seeing the coaching staff basically say that we wasted a second round pick last year on Hollings.
well someone in that group is not doing it. If DD is our starter, Hollings is the backup, then Morency will be wasting in the wind.Vinny said:I don't think so at all. Hollings will make this team this year and contribute.
Travis Johnson isn't too shabby.TexanFan881 said:If we have a good 2nd day I will feel better, but if they don't get a decent DE or OL I sure hope they are looking at some free agents.
MorKnolle said:I agree with Cadahnic, Morency is a good RB and I thought he did well at OSU, but he is very much the same type of RB as Davis and we have Wells as our big back and Hollings as the speedster so I'm not sure why we would pick a RB when we have some other needs to address.
Nothing shocking here. The consensus was they were going OL, WR, or RB in the 3rd. Remember that this OL class kinda sucks, and next years is supposed to be awesome.

D. J. doesn't fit our system...enough said.coachdent said:![]()
I am less than thrilled about the first day of the draft. We had a shot to land Derrick Johnson from Texas to address our linebacker woes. We trade one spot too low to land him. Then we have a golden opportunity to get a PRO BOWL player in David Pollack from Georgia and we go with a guy with some issues in Travis Johnson. He's a good guy, but how can you pass on Pollack?
If the ridiculous theory that getting a running back with the third round pick is susbstantiated by the misguided rationale that Davis got hurt and so did Hollings and Wells is just ok, then why isn't Pollack a logical pick where you have a need at defensive end? Sears is not an every down end and neither is Peek. Pollack could have been a wonderful bookend to Babin....
SESupergenius said:All of the sudden Derrick Johnson doesn't fit our 3-4 system?? Wow, before the draft he was a superstar, and now he's not good enough to fit our 3-4 system. The guy is 6-3, 243 pounds and ran a 4.65 at the combine. Lifted 21 times in his individual workout. Scored a 21 on the wonderlic. Sounds like an ILB to me.
