Thanks for your support!

Are you guys still on board with hiring Nick Caserio as GM?

Yes, of course lets get Caserio, because hiring folks from New England has worked so well in the past. :smiliepalm:

Unfinished business from 2020. Josh McDaniels could also be on the way.

All we can hope for is if McDaniels is on the way is that his offense will be creative enough to play to Watson’s strengths and do more than run up the middle for little no gain on every first down of the series.

Honestly don't know why, but the Caserio thing made sense to me the first time we went after him. I've never been a fan of the Patriots drafts, so I know that wasn't it & I think their draft reflects Belichick more than any one.

I have no objection to Caserio, but do wonder why the window dressing.

I wonder what the Texans see in Caserio? I’m reading up on him and have yet to find anything on him that wows me. The Patriots just had a losing season without the GOAT. Besides Gilmore, and the RBs being serviceable, the Patriots’ roster is compiled of trash. I’d rather be trying to copy the Chiefs or Bills instead of the Patriots, as they ain’t sh1t without TB12.
What say you?

It’s OK if Caserio can’t draft. We don’t have any draft picks.

Lol.

McDaniels ain't leaving New England

The one thing Caserio has is deep connections throughout the league. He’s been around a long time...with the Patriots when they couldn’t make a bad trade. Almost always coming out on the winning end of a deal. If he’s really good at hiring player personnel people it might not be as bad as some think.

It will not change much at all, O'Brien and McDaniels ran the same system, they used the same notebook, Bill Belichick's Offense.

No. McDaniels offense is created around short quick throws. OB wanted to run run run and then throw deep. There are ample interviews and sound bites not to mention the play on the field to support that.

there is a huge misconception of OB and his skill set. He was OC in New England for a brief time.His identity wasn’t formed until he landed here. And by then it was too late to see it.

I hope you're right
Me too but I have a bad feeling about JM. He had one foot out of the door and in Tennessee just a few years ago. That was with TB still with him. The HC gig in New England, including the waiting for it to become available probably isn’t as attractive as it once was. Now it looks like Caserio is here and he’d be working with one of the best young QB’s in the game. It’s adding up.

McDaniels isn't leaving New England,

Still, it wasn't the system, it was the implementation. I think McDaniels can reproduce it with a smart (Watson) QB with good feet.

Maybe not Brady good, as good as Watson was this year with tweedle dee & tweedle dum teaching him the offense.

Heck, all he'd have to do is bring an OL coach that does his job.

Two names to watch out for as potential head coaches, should Caserio join the Texans, are Patriots inside linebackers coach Jerod Mayo and Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll, who have both worked with Caserio in New England.

He's not my number one, but that would be sweet.

Caserio, Daboll.. probably keep Tim Kelly & Romeo... resign Will Fuller restructure Cooks (he's in the Easterby family)

Bring Patricia in for DC.

Reboot.

Don’t see what all the bitching is about. Caserio was their guy from the get go and the whole NE angle...look whomever we hired we were going to be the south version of it..

Borgonzi =..KC South
Khan = Pitt South
Dorsey = Cleveland South

I like the hire simply b/c he’s a legit GM who has done the job..just hadn’t had the title...not a guy who hasn’t done it (Gaine) and not an unqualified guy (BoB, Easterby).

I won’t be pleased with the Daboll hire if indeed that’s where we go though. I don’t wanna see Watson getting wrecked and our season with it with Daboll trying to run him like Kaep/Josh Allen.

So are we changing the team's name to the Houston Patriots? Not feeling Caserio at this moment. Looking back at this season of NE and Tampa Bay. Maybe, just maybe, it was Tom Brady all along and not Caserio/Bellichek that made NE so sucessful. They seemed to have completely collapsed this year without Tom Brady. How about we hire someone who comes up with a completely new system for us and we stop trying to copy other successful teams all the time?

So apparently I fell for the dog and pony show interviews and the Texans knew who their man was all along.
This appears to be the most diverse and thorough search that the Texans have made each position, much less together. If it is the best chance for getting it right then not finishing the process until March is fine with me.
Chances of getting it right, please, since when did ownership get anything right? Wait until March only decreases the talent pool. They better have a damn good idea right now who the right fit is and be prepared to fight for him.
So far just a list of names. We haven’t had any more actual interviews yet than we’ve had in the past.
