I think the downfall of recruiting for A&M has been several fold. RC used to get some good East Texas talent...LSU has encroached on that area. USC got back on its feet and RC used to pull good talent from California. OU is pulling north Texas and well....UT will usually get its pick first in Texas talent. Yeah and well..Fran hasn't helped.
I don't see the big suprise here in terms of recruiting. I missed the game as i was at work but saw the score from my phone. Wow.
If you think about it, he has an amazing track record. I've never seen anyone so consistently wrong over such a long period of time. It took Swiss watch makers hundreds of years to produce a timepiece as consistent as Kast.Uh, Kas, I don't know what kind of fan you are; however, your predictions are not worth sh%&.
They weren't scared, the defense just didn't seem to care. The offense looked a bit lost, but fear is not what they were experiencing. Jorvorskie was pissed that Fran didn't give him more playing time, though.... and I agree with him.
I say fire Fran and start Jerrod Johnson.
I bet AJ and Winston have texted Kubiak and McKinney in the last few minutes.
Finally, while it has never been confirmed, many hypothesize that Franchione was sent to A&M as a Mack Brown operative in order to bleed the tradition-rich university dry of any passion for football. The obvious benefit for Brown would be easier recruiting and an easier game on T+1. In fact, some believe the coordination is so sinister that Brown has agreed to lose to A&M whenever Fran's job is at stake so long as nothing is at stake for Texas during that season. Evidence of this came at the end of the 2006 season when Texas lost to A&M 12-7 despite A&M's reluctance to use the forward pass. Others also point to the number of Texas rejects now working under Fran at A&M as more evidence of this conspiracy. Finally, the most damaging evidence seems to be Fran himself. As many, inlcuding ESPN commentators Flutie, James, and Fowler, have noted, Fran's coaching at A&M has been woefully inept. The degree of ineptitude has been so severe that most accept Fran has to be doing this on purpose. For instance, could anyone truly think that handing the ball to Jorvorskie Lane only twice in the 2007 Miami game would work? With all of this evidence now in hand, many former so-called "sunshine pumpers" have begun to change their tune and call for the ouster of Fran. Whether this happens remains to be seen...Texas Aggies can only hope that AD Bill Byrne is not a Brown operative, too.
A little history on Fran from Wikipedia.

Well, I guess that's one way to lose a trap game. They should have known the Canes would come on strong.
A few reasons why Aggies fans are correct in blaming Fran:
1. Your offense gets all of 38 yards in the 1st half.
2. Jorvorskie Lane carries the ball only 2 times for a grand total of 2 yards.
3. You are losing by 24 points at halftime to an unranked opponent.
4. Your QB is your leading rusher with 2.4 YPC.
5. You complete only 3 passes to WRs in a whole game.
6. You are outscored by the Astros.

I have watched two Miami games including last night. I saw nothing strong from them again last night. The Aggies simply did not come to play.
I wish I could edit the wiki entry....
It would say "Dennis Franchione FIRED at halftime of the Aggies game with University of Miami, September 20, 2007"
