A&M & Miami

I think the downfall of recruiting for A&M has been several fold. RC used to get some good East Texas talent...LSU has encroached on that area. USC got back on its feet and RC used to pull good talent from California. OU is pulling north Texas and well....UT will usually get its pick first in Texas talent. Yeah and well..Fran hasn't helped.

I don't see the big suprise here in terms of recruiting. I missed the game as i was at work but saw the score from my phone. Wow.

You didnt miss much. Unless you're a Miami fan in that case you missed a great game.

Uh, Kas, I don't know what kind of fan you are; however, your predictions are not worth sh%&.
If you think about it, he has an amazing track record. I've never seen anyone so consistently wrong over such a long period of time. It took Swiss watch makers hundreds of years to produce a timepiece as consistent as Kast.

They weren't scared, the defense just didn't seem to care. The offense looked a bit lost, but fear is not what they were experiencing. Jorvorskie was pissed that Fran didn't give him more playing time, though.... and I agree with him.

I say fire Fran and start Jerrod Johnson.

They were scared. Flat footed tackling while waiting for the offensive player to make a move, cheap shots on the field and a pure lack for showing up to a nationally televised statement game.

Jorvorskie looked like a big baby on the sidelines. If he wants to play in a game where the team is behind by double digits he may want to lose some pounds or learn to play another position. He got a taste of what Sundays will feel like next year, except he will be crying from the couch and knocking cheezy poofs out of the server's hands.

I was embarrased for the Big 12 last night, that was awful. Fran needs to be let go immediately. Unfortunately for this UT fan, Fran will run out of time and not be back next year.

I bet AJ and Winston have texted Kubiak and McKinney in the last few minutes.

lol....I resemble that remark.

Kinda funny nowadays that you don't have to leave a trash-talking message on someone's answering machine anymore because they're too pissed off to pick up the phone. I left countless "How about them Cowboys" messages during the 19-10 game.

You send 'em a text and they get the message for sure. And then the local newspaper takes a picture of them in the stands looking destitute....

Pathetic, pathetic, pathetic!!!!

Fire Fran........... NOW!!!!!!

Nice play calling... Let's confuse them by not letting Lane touch the ball until the 3rd quarter. Let's continue to try to run the ball up the gut...... Whatever!!

Fran, you and your staff need to start packing your bags!!

Go Coogs Go!!!!

A few reasons why Aggies fans are correct in blaming Fran:

1. Your offense gets all of 38 yards in the 1st half.
2. Jorvorskie Lane carries the ball only 2 times for a grand total of 2 yards.
3. You are losing by 24 points at halftime to an unranked opponent.
4. Your QB is your leading rusher with 2.4 YPC.
5. You complete only 3 passes to WRs in a whole game.
6. You are outscored by the Astros.

A little history on Fran from Wikipedia.

Finally, while it has never been confirmed, many hypothesize that Franchione was sent to A&M as a Mack Brown operative in order to bleed the tradition-rich university dry of any passion for football. The obvious benefit for Brown would be easier recruiting and an easier game on T+1. In fact, some believe the coordination is so sinister that Brown has agreed to lose to A&M whenever Fran's job is at stake so long as nothing is at stake for Texas during that season. Evidence of this came at the end of the 2006 season when Texas lost to A&M 12-7 despite A&M's reluctance to use the forward pass. Others also point to the number of Texas rejects now working under Fran at A&M as more evidence of this conspiracy. Finally, the most damaging evidence seems to be Fran himself. As many, inlcuding ESPN commentators Flutie, James, and Fowler, have noted, Fran's coaching at A&M has been woefully inept. The degree of ineptitude has been so severe that most accept Fran has to be doing this on purpose. For instance, could anyone truly think that handing the ball to Jorvorskie Lane only twice in the 2007 Miami game would work? With all of this evidence now in hand, many former so-called "sunshine pumpers" have begun to change their tune and call for the ouster of Fran. Whether this happens remains to be seen...Texas Aggies can only hope that AD Bill Byrne is not a Brown operative, too.

Now that is funny.

To those who think that A&M is still recruiting well, Fran has signed 1 blue chip prospect during his tenure at A&M (Martellus Bennett, 05).

Many years ago, every Aggie had a bumper sticker that said "KEEP FRED!". If I was a entrepreneur and lived in Austin, I'd be printing a bunch of "KEEP FRANCIS!" stickers about now ;) I've said it since Francis's hiring, but it's fallen on deaf ears. This guy is a loser. He left Alabama in a mess, and I respect no coach that would do that. RC may have been a slow talking, non-offensive minded coach, but at least he had class. Fire this bum, and lets bring back RC, at least we'll lose with dignity.

I tell you what Fran's biggest problem is....he had LT and a top D coordinator at TCU....Patterson. People saw pre-TCU and then TCU and thought the guy was magic. In reality Patterson is a better coach right now and has done more with TCU nationally than Fran has at A&M...with a massively smaller budget. Fran lost his guys and now he can't find any consistency. He deserves it after showing up the the Heisman ceremony for LT wearing his Alabama tie. The guy is scum.

According to rivals.com:

Texas A&M has finished #27 & #43 in recruiting the last 2 years.

That would be 6th & 8th, respectively, in the Big 12. Not very good at all.

YUP!!! That's pretty much it - in a nut shell.

Wow now that is just a low blow.

7. Baylor now looks like a tough oppopnent.

All we need is a SH rant to seal this thread.

I have watched two Miami games including last night. I saw nothing strong from them again last night. The Aggies simply did not come to play.

I stand corrected. I only saw some highlights and the final score. In the highlights I saw, the Miami passing game looked like it was moving with relative ease. I assumed it was because Miami brought the heavy on their final Thursday night game in the Orange Bowl. I guess I was wrong. A&M really is that bad.

I wish I could edit the wiki entry....

It would say "Dennis Franchione FIRED at halftime of the Aggies game with University of Miami, September 20, 2007"

Remember when there was the "Sinbad Died" rumors and it was Wikipedia. Seriously, I editted it one time that day to say, "he is still alive but his career is dead." It was there for like a hour and I couldn't stop laughing..and then they took away his entry and stopped edits. Shame

i went to sleep on that garbage last night. Fran's gotta know that the writing is on the wall & he should be scheduling that Mayflower truck to come & move all his things around 11/24/07 b/c i have little doubt he's out of aggieland.

Everyone knew they couldn't pass, Miami just exposed it real time in front of millions last night. Expect everyone else from here on out to load the box & watch the aggies football season go down the crapper..

I bet they wished they hired Gary Kubiak as head coach now.....
