A split second decides the outcome of the play? Stupid rule. I know the Rams got penalized and all that, it’s just a stupid rule in the 8,000 pages of the nfl rule book.
And I’m not on the Tommy bandwagon, so no sour grapes here.

The hit happened after the ball hit the ground. It had no impact on the play.

Thanks to the Texans giving him that contract, his 26 million cap hit for 2022 makes that highly unlikely. I’m sure they would rather use both of those picks and take a chance at getting a starter at far less. If they don’t get a starter, they made it this far with a crap o-line. I think they take their chances.

It's a consistent rule that applies to all types of these situations and was applied correctly. How would you like to change it?

A QB gets “grazed” on the helmet. Persona foul, defense. Automatic 1st down for the offense.
A debatable DPI call, offense gets an automatic 1st down spot foul.
A WR gets clocked in the head on a pass play. A legit persona foul. Yes, the ball hit the ground before the hit, but by a blink of the eye. Defense keeps the ball. It’s just a bad rule.
Enforce it from the LOS. 15 yards. It was 4th and 14 at the time. And I think the spot foul for DPI is stupid too. It should be 15 yds from LOS.

I know the rule and understand the call. Just think it is wrong and should be changed.That’s all
