OK, so if Johnson is cut prior to week 1...he "only" gets $4.25 million. Which is $2 million more than he would have if cut.He keeps saying 2 million b/c only 4 of his 6 is GTD which is obviously 2 million over what he would've recieved if he'd been cut.
But follow me here for a moment. If Johnson is on the roster week 1...his entire salary is guaranteed. That's $6 million. $4 million more than he would have made had he been cut ($6 million - $2 million = $4 million).
However, you're suggesting that maybe Johnson doesn't get the entire $6 million. That the Texans might cut him prior to week one, and "only" gets $4.25 million from the Texans. For nothing. As opposed to $2.1 million from the Texans if cut now.
