The Texans signed former New Orleans Saints offensive tackle Rick Leonard to a reserve-future deal.
Former defensive end, 1 full year as a tackle. He will fit in as this is in his overviewhttps://www.chron.com/sports/texans/article/Texans-sign-OT-Rick-Leonard-13518076.php
2018 4th round pick already with a 4th team.

Leonard is a potential player. Could be good in 2-3 years. Surprised the Saints spent a 4th on him. I wouldn't expect anything out of him this year or possibly next year other than a rotational guy to get reps.
The fact that he started as a defensive lineman indicates potentially he may be more athletic than the average offensive lineman.Leonard is a potential player. Could be good in 2-3 years. Our new tackle and how OB plans to scheme the offense with Watson - you try and catch/sack them!

Offensive lineman Chad Slade isn't signing a reserve-future deal with the Texans after being on their practice squad the past few seasons.

He has been with Texans for four seasons, three of them as a practice squad member (one IR). Honestly, he should out of practice squad eligibility by now. As a player, Slade could not force the Texans to carry him as an 8th OLmen when the squad was banged up and underperforming this season. I have no idea what his particular strength or weakness is, but yes he has not progressed enough to be on the active roster of a team with a near the bottom OL performance two years running. It is probably time to move on for both parties.
Why does Devlin still have a job with this team? The Richard Smith/Frank Bush “friend of HC” coach of the OB era.
The Texans have re-signed Seantrel Henderson for a 1-year contract. Looks like they are counting on him as a vet presence to compete and possibly take over the RT position........at least depth. I'm sure that this does not preclude their sights on all the Draft and/or FA options.
He has pictures AND an audio tape!
It could just be a pic with audio added. If he had been awed that it was in color....So you mean a video? Your age is showing there JB.
I've been waiting for this. Same circumstances exist as when he was first signed. Now sign Ju'Wuan James and that position ready. Draft a LT like Cajuste to beat out D or play LG. Then guy like Scharping to back up all but center. The Texans have re-signed Seantrel Henderson for a 1-year contract. 6'7" 331 who IIRC won kudos from defensive coach pre 2018 going against JJ Watt. Reasonable money for possible starterNot sure I understand giving $4.5 million to a guy who hasn't had meaningful action since 2015.

Anthony Weaver article by Mark Lane USA. Click on "likes the work ethic" to pull up statement I referred to. Took only couple minutes to find. What defensive coach?
Fits the "bigger, stronger" canard that O'Brien touts.6'7" 331 who IIRC won kudos from defensive coach pre 2018 going against JJ Watt. Reasonable money for possible starter

If they don't sign Lamm you'd think they'll bring in at least another tackle. Since Rankin is a Guard now.
With Rankin suffering a fractured foot in rookie minicamp that required surgery..........which caused him to miss all of OTAs and TC, I'm not sure that Rankin won't be re-evaluated after a full set of OTAs and TC.If they don't sign Lamm you'd think they'll bring in at least another tackle. What is a future reserve contract and how does it work?

#Texans have signed CB Lonnie Johnson Jr, 2nd round out of Kentucky. #54 overall. Signed 2nd-round pick OT Max Scharping and 7th-round pick FB Cullen Gillaspia.

Mark Berman@MarkBermanFox26 2h2 hours agoI think Mark Berman has the Texans signing Omenihu and Crawford.
Horrible news!
Per rotoworld:
Texans placed DE Duke Ejiofor (Achilles) on the reserve/injured list.
Ejiofor tore his Achilles in a recent workout and will miss the entire 2019 season. The 2018 sixth-rounder logged nine tackles and one sack over 174 snaps as a rookie.
