nah, he will play safety but they should go after LB in second round..some mocks had them going LB in first so they will probably end up with good players for these spots anyway.I wonder if the Steelers think Terrell Edmunds can play LB?
The damn Jags are loading up on Defense. Added a good player up front to an already nasty Dline

If Brian O’Neil and Branden Smith are both on the board at 3/68, who do we take?
Smith can play RT but would be best fitted at RG. He also excelled against SEC talent and is more ready to start/contribute as a rookie. I have both graded at 80. Behind these two I have Wyatt Teller (OG) with a grade of 75 and Martina’s Rankin (OT ) with a grade of 80 and Branden Parker (OT) with a grade of 75.
I like Smith. O’neill is more athlete than football player.
Bryan is a workout wonder that didn't put a single positive game on tape in college. There are flashes, sure. He'll explode off the ball, burst through the shoulder of his blocker, and disrupt a play. Then he'll get pancaked three of the next four plays. He's gonna get put at 4 or 5 tech because of his size but his play strength is weak. He's basically an edge guy with no pass rushing moves. Freak athlete but let the Jags have him.
O'neill was Delaware state player of the year his senior year playing defensive end and tight end, he is a football player. He has only played on the O-Line for 3 years and the NFL is loaded with athletic left tackles who started out playing other positions and made switches in college. They come out a little more raw but are an athletic moldable piece of clay. It is an advantage that they don't have years of bad habits that result from simply being at a huge size advantage to those they played across from in their formidable years. The OT prospects I knock off my list are the top high school prospects who still have technique issues when they come out, as they never get any better. If O'neill drops to us at 68 and we pass it will be a huge mistake, IMO.
Hurst was red-flagged at the Combine for a cardiac irregularity. He was worked up by his own doctors and cleared to play Pro Day. The hesitancy in the Draft comes from two factors. One...........this is apparently a RECURRENT problem in that he suffered similar episodes in his freshman year at Michigan. Two............there are no reports being released as to what specific cardiac condition is causing the irregular heart beat............some can be easily controlled and others not..........with some requiring surgery. The teams will have been supplied with the relevant available information..........however, some conditions can be unpredictable as to their long-term implications. I believe that there lies the quandary of a Draft "approach/avoidance" as to when or if a team feels comfortable with picking him.@CloakNNNdagger , Do you have any thoughts on how far Maurice Hurst is going to fall? Is it likely he never plays in the NFL because of the heart condition they discovered? On film he was the most dominate defensive player in this draft, seems like teams would roll the dice if it was a low probability of effecting his career.

That's the best answer I can give at this time.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport made it clear this week theNew Orleans Saintswere a candidate to move up in the 2018NFL Draft.
Ultimately, Mr. RapSheet was correct.
TheSaintson Thursday night swung a trade with thePackers-- rising from No. 27 to No. 14 overall -- to grab edge rusherMarcus Davenport. To complete the deal, New Orleans agreed to give up this year's fifth-rounder (No. 147) and next year's first-round selection.
Many expected theSaintsto grab quarterbackLamar Jackson, giving the team a promising heir toDrew Brees, but coach Sean Payton and friends had different plans.
"This is an exciting, young edge rusher. He's very raw but his upside is off the charts," NFL Network draft guru Mike Mayock said of Davenport. "When you're talking about an edge rusher, he's raw but gifted, I love his motor and body type. Reminds me a lot of Ziggy Ansah."http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...s-trade-up-to-no-14-to-draft-marcus-davenport
The 6-foot-5, 263-pound pass-rusher out of University of Texas-San Antonio is viewed as a promising whirlwind in need of some fine-tuning.

This is without question IMO one of the most dubious moves/trades of the NFL Draft in years !
Two first round picks for this rookie edge player, I don't get it ?! Are you kidding me ! You don't do this unless it's a QB.
I watched this kid in the Senior Bowl a couple months ago and yea he's a good prospect, but not worth what the Saints and Peyton gave up for him.
They really should stay with their draft board and not reach for an OT just because he's an OT. Building an o-line basically from scratch takes a few years.
Who then?I want to agree. But right now Davenport and Henderson are slated to protect our quarterback coming off a major injury.
Let's not "carr" Watson.
If the talent margin on our board is even close we have to get ol help. Especially with the run on ol we're watching right now.
Who then?
Online online online, that’s all you guys talk about. Which Oline guy that’s going to be available in the third round this year that will start?
I wasnt calling you out Powda. I was just sayin, whos left that could start? Im passing up whats left if some of the big names are still there at RB, TE, CB and DL.You'll notice my post was about need vs. talent margin. Not names
