2016 NFL Draft

WTF .... this guy isn't a 4.4 guy .
Maybe around the training table.

This draft says a lot about what the staff thought of Crick.

We obviously didn't lose much there.
Yeah, but someone has to play the position. And backup the position.

Covington > Crick
Maybe, but I haven't seen it on the field yet.

We have to remember there will be vets that are cut after the draft and after June 1st. Still time to pickup a DE that can help.

Love the Reader pick. He is a 2 down NT, and their value is on the 3rd day. That was my point last year when everyone wanted to go with Shelton in the 1st. I just thought Billings had potential as an interior rusher, as well, and would have been a good pick from the 2nd round on. Guess we'll see.

Guess I gotta Start watching the Vikings... Böhringer is the First German to Play a skill Position in the NFL, really excited to See him play. Nice Touch that the Vikings drafted him, after he keeps on calling AP as his Inspiration to pick up a Football...

Dayum, never heard of this guy the Jags just drafted, Tyrone Holmes but he is quite a stud, some BIG time stats.

Nope, but I wasnt upset to see him go.

I was pissed. If the choice is between Jacoby Jones & Kevin Walter, I'm taking Jacoby 9 out of 9 times.

In my mind, the field got a lot smaller when we picked KDub & our ST has yet to get any better.

But I'm in the minority.

For some reason I feel like you'll be gloating when the Jags beat us this year.

Watch him when Fuller drops a ball.

Texian gloat due to a Texans' loss?
Surely not!
:)

It's not gloating, it's the math. 8' hands will drop and fumble more footballs than 9 1/2"-10" hands. So when this happens, it won't be gloating, it will be I tried to explain this to you but you refused to listen or didn't want to hear it. Although with each dropped pass and fumble I will curse and say I knew it and there is a reason you don't draft WR or RB with 8' hands. And you know what? You will too.

Just like when the Texans (McNair) made the decision to enter salary cap hell, I said then that it was a recipe for disaster and mediocrity. When that happened I wasn't gloating I was trying to explain why it happened (100s of post on the subject), why the Texans were shorting themselves and playing at more of a disadvantage with each passing year in salary cap hell. Except no one wanted to hear or believe, everyone wanted to make excuses.

When I tell you Boib McNair is creature of habit and is prone to over react and panic. So it was with Ed Reed, so it will be with Brock Osweiller. A rush to judgement and an irresponsible allocation of funds to sign a QB who's scouting report says, only sees half the field and his accuracy is not good enough to target a 16" catching radius. Now when this happens and Osweiller is not the $72 million man and Fuller turns out to be in the pros, what he was in college, a leader in dropped passes, it won't be gloating. It will be the math, the physics, the analytics and sports science. You see in the pros the ball has a bigger circumference, arrives at more MPH with more RPM, as result sport science says to expect more drops in the pros than in college from 8" hands. When the Texans finish close to 8-8, it won't be gloating, it will be mediocre management. They don't understand that their way of doing things is a history of mediocrity. They have dug this big hole of mediocrity and they don't know how to get out. Few understand this today, more will understand this later.

My hands are big, and I still look super size

Yours are small and yours look like 2 fries!

I don't recall anyone saying that Fuller wouldn't drop balls. Ony hope for improvement. Even if he doesn't improve in that area, if he can fulfill his promise as a weapon and draw coverage from Hops he will be worth it.

Perhaps if you didn't come across so arrogant and condescending people would enjoy talking to you a little more. You obviously know your stuff, but you don't need to hit everyone over the head with it. I just hope you are wrong this time about the draft class, and I hope you do too

You know when I am attacked as gloating, a hater and a troll I have to defend myself, yes I know that can be seen presumptuous, arrogant and condescending but I don't know how else to defend the attacks with this crowd. All to often the attacks and conversations here are on a Junior High School level. Example

My hands are big, and I still look super size

Yours are small and yours look like 2 fries!

And yes at times I will respond to Jerk and Snark with Jerk and Snark, presumption, arrogance and condescension. Also, presumption, arrogance and condescension can be mistaken for negative truths about the Texans people just don't want to hear or admit. From my perspective, it's like the insurance company commercial, I've seen a lot so I know a lot. In my case I have read a lot, watched a lot and seen a lot so I know a lot and I'm not going to apologize for it. Again this may sound presumptuous, arrogant and condescending but I have no doubt that I have read more articles and watched more videos about the Texans than most who post here. Often I'm accused of making stuff up and I immediately know well they didn't read the article, see the information or watch the video or do the research so they don't think it happened or have a clue. And no listening to talk radio 12 hours a day doesn't count. There are those folks who will get up and read the paper everyday and be very well informed and then there are those folks who don't.

Their draft sucked.

Worst 1st round ever.

Thanks Ben Dover Kraft.

Personally, I think the Pats have bummed out and none of their picks so far will contribute. Oh, and we're going to be in Charlotte for Thanksgiving this year. One of Mrs Cat's friends emigrated with her family (husband is originally from near Atlanta), so it will be traditional and family based.

Typical Belichick draft. We'll have to till after its over and see how the UDFA picks turn out to save this team. :coffee:

That's about the worst of it. The rest are in the "In BB we trust" mode.

It must suck being a fan of Belichick's team while he has the GOAT at QB. Kinda hard to be critical when things always just work out. Even stuff you know we're just dumb, year after year after year.

To be fair to Pats fans, Belichick's drafts over recent years haven't been all that great. I can understand them being a bit out of sorts over the draft but, once the team gets on the field, it rarely matters. They end up riding Brady/Gronk and a bunch of nobodies to the AFCCG every year anyway.

There is nothing fantastic about that list. Not a single player on that list would start at our vacant DE position. Reader may get a small rotation bid behind Wilfork. Yay!!

Kamalu Looks better for us thn anyone on that list and hes just a run stopper with no pass rushing ability. I doubt he would beat out Pegan or Stills.

Kamalu is just a body. Looks good on paper, doesn't make plays on the field. Coley had 10 sacks over last 2 years on the interior. Vaeoa had 12 TFL run stops last year. Wujciak has 18 TFL over last 2 years. Zettel has 28 TFL and 12 sacks over last 2 years. Shittu had 15 TFL last year.

Well we picked up Kamalu and gave him a signing bonus so I guess they like him. I think he can be a good backup.

It will be interesting. He was not effective at Miami whatsoever but they have wasted boatloads of talent over the last few years and physically he checks the boxes. They've averaged something like 6-7 wins a year over the last 6 years yet had 30+ players drafted over that span. They waste more talent than anyone else in the country.

FWIW all those guys I listed got picked up as well.
