2016 NFL Draft

I'm a firm believer in you build from the inside out. The 3 positions on the Texans DL has 2 question marks. The 5 positions on the Texans OL had 5 question marks and since yesterday now has 4 question marks.....just saying.

NFL comparison Akeem Hunt. Where have I heard that name before? Oh yeh!!! WTF!!!!!!
Ervin was one of them. This is a skill set pick. He's a passing down specialist. Can catch the ball, can block, and dangerous in the open field. He can return kicks too.
I know who he is and all about him. Just seems redundant and unneccesary considering we have Hunt, Miller(rb) and now another player Miller (WR) that could fill that role? Meanwhile Wilfor is another year older and most likely gone after this year and we have NO decent replacement plan for him. But hey we needed that little 4th RB that can be a specialist and play 5 or 6 plays a game. I get it!!! No I don't. Theve lost there effen minds.

RB - Miller, Ervin, Blue, Grimes

WR - Hopkins, Fuller, Strong, Miller, Mumphery

I imagine they could keep Shorts and cut Mump but they just drafted the guy.

How do you count 5 on the OL? XSF is our LG. Jeff Allen is our RG. Those aren't questions.

LT... the Texans feel comfortable with Chris Clark for 2016, whether DBrown76 can play or not.

Maybe not answers we want to hear, but those are not questions.

Center... we got Martin. RT... I can see that as a question. Surely we're not doing Newton again. I hope we get someone to take that spot. If not, maybe they feel good about Kendall Lamm, maybe Jeff Adam, maybe Quessenbery.

Depth wise... Oday Aboushi, Tony Bergstrum, & Derek Newton don't look bad.

We were protecting our QB, we were churning out 100 yard games.

We didn't have 5 question marks on OL.

If we're going to get a year from him, if we expect one good year from him, why waste a pick on his replacement who might or might not make it in the NFL? Why not get through the season, then draft a guy next draft who will replace him in the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd round?

But is the 2017 draft better for DTs than this one?

I think our OL is better than fans try to make it out to be. The real question there is what is the plan post-Brown. The interior seems set with XSF, Martin, Allen. RT is still awful with Newton but they've been tossing that out there for 5 years. That ain't changing.

The bigger issue is DL. We've lacked depth there for years and we're at the cusp of that becoming a real problem.

Interior OL looks fine to me after the Martin pick. I like all three starters and we have multiple solid depth guys.

OT is the question.

That makes sense. I wouldn't argue had he said we came into this draft with three questions & now have two.

But sooner or later we're going to have to come to terms with the Texans being optimistic about DBrown76's return & Chris Clark filling that need in the interim.

Doesn't have to be if we target Wilfork's replacement in the first three rounds.

This "deep" draft is saying we can get a third round talent in the 4th, maybe 5th round.

Theoretically we can draft a guy with one of our 5th round picks, maybe use both to move up... & get a guy you'd normally expect in the third.

That wasn't the case for WR in this draft. If you wanted a good one, you'd better take him early. & we did.

Because DL generally take a year to develop.

Because at Wilfork age hes going to have to have rotation help

Because If an old over weight Wilfork gets injured we have NO ONE that fits the role.

Couldn't have said it better. And did we really need TWO WRs in the first three rounds??

Have you seen Devon Still?

That's over my head. Not trying to be snarky, I really would appreciate it if you could break this down for me.

Happy to oblige, from my perspective, even if Brown can return I don't forsee him being the player he is was. Clark is just a guy, there is a reason the Texans are paying him so little, he's a backup and besides he's really a RT. It's time for XSF to come in to his own, so far he's been a disappointment. Will he be able to come in to his own or will he be another Newton? As we can see and have learned from Brown and XSF it took them two years to learn their pro trade and XSF is still learning. Their first two years they were not very good and I think we should expect similar for Nick Martin who has an even a higher learning curve. Jeff Allen should be fine and do well but there is a lingering question about his move from ZBS to the Texans Power run game. Newton seems to be getting worse not better and the Texans are playing a tougher schedule and better defenses.

I think it's DL at the next one.

Wouldn't complain if we traded back a round with the last pick. Would like to get a pick back for next year since we traded one away earlier.

There are still quite a few talented Safeties still out there

K.J. Dillon
Jayron Kearse
Jeremy Cash
DeAndre Houston-Carson
