The Seattle Seahawks select:
Mo Alexander - SS, Utah St, 6-1 220
Alexander is a very athletic SS who would be rated higher if he didn't have a history as a knucklehead. Forced to go the JUCO route out of high school, he eventually ended up at Utah St but was kicked off the team after sucker punching a teammate. After sitting out the year he came back as a senior and had a very good season. 79 tackles, 9 TFL, 3.5 sacks, 1 INT, and 1 FF.
Tested well at the combine. 4.54 forty, 38 inch vertical, 10-3 broad jump, and 11.82 in the 60 yard shuttle. All very good numbers for his size and position.
Under Carroll's direction, Seattle feels confident that Alexander's past is behind him. I like him as a backup to Kam Chancellor. They have a similar style of play. Alexander is a former LB and plays like one. Will also be very useful on special teams.
