2013 TT Member Mock Draft Discussion

It's time to start talking about who Buffalo should be picking. Bong must have had an extended case of the munchies.

Nassib is my pick.

Competition for Barkley shouldn't be a bad thing. Nassib already knows the offense, kind like Tannehill did for the Dolphins last yr.

Don't they already have Kolb?

Anyone know what the Bills needs are? There's a couple QB's that are a good value down here and they might double up for insurance and value purposes like the Redskins did last year. Maybe some O-line help, Oday Aboushi, Alvin Bailey, Ricky Wagner etc... Secondary help? Suggestions?

Aboushi got my vote.

Kolb is a stop gap. There's nothing wrong with having 3 capable QB's on the roster, after not having one for 20+ yrs.

This is how teams like the Packers/49ers/Eagles have made a killing in draft day trades for yrs.

Not really a complaint but I would of taken Kiko. His coverage and blitzing abilities fit this defense perfectly. I like Washington but there seems to be several guys with his attributes that should still be available in the next couple of rounds. Micheal Buchanan for one. If not for a broken jaw this year he could of possibly been a first or second day pick.

Still would not be unhappy at all with this haul.

P.S. I also would have considered one of the top QB's at this spot.

I kinda saw it as there arent very many guy's with the combination of size and speed left in this draft , lots of smaller guy's with potential tho .... and some have Washington as high as the tail end of the second round. I thought this one was a value pick that filled the void left by Barwin. They only have 3 OLB's on the roster - Braman , Mercilus & Reed.

The combination of Reed , Mercilus & Washington may well be better than Reed , Barwin & Mercilus.

There are several ILB and Safety prospects still on the board .... and should be thru round 5.

QB's .... Ive thought about them at every pick , even in the first round. We all knowwe have to find Schaub's replacement .... I just dont see NFL talent in this crop of QB's. Dont like any of them ....

I said I would cry in the fetal position if this is the outcome of are draft class

Why ?!?

We've been crying for an upgrade at the NT spot since Seth Payne got hurt. We get that upgrade in this draft.

We've been begging for a playmaker opposite #80 for a few years too - We get a guy who is arguably the most talented in this draft at the end of the second round. Along with another WR at the end of the third who's measurables are just as good and may have the best hands in the draft.
Schaub needed weapons , he gets them in spades.

Washington was miscast at Georgia because of the talent around him .... he even played the nose in some packages. Versatility , great size for the position and loads of talent .... Fills a need with Barwin moving on. May go in the mid second round , we get him here at the end of the 4th.

Yep - I need an ILB but with the way this has gone , we still have the option of moving Reed inside if we cant fill the spot and they will sign at least one , probably two ILB's after the draft.

Nope , I didnt pick your guy's .... but I had a plan entering the draft and have stuck to it. I like the results so far.

Funny, when I read RNR's post the first time, I thought he would be so happy with your draft that he cried. Now I'm not sure which way to take it...

Washington is worth a chance because of his size , strength , and speed . The Steelers used to take OLBs in every draft because those are key positions and expensive to resign .

I wanted a bigger guy at the nose but that's just me .

We do need WRs bad and the elephant in the room is , when will AJ start declining and who will take his place .

I don't like the QBs that much either . I would take a flyer if one fell to the 5th .

The NY Jets select Stepfan Taylor, RB, Stanford

Senior Stan is on the clock.

2013 Kansas City Chiefs Draft Picks so far:

1. Luke Joeckel-OT, a no brainer pick.
2. No pick, this hurt but they traded for Alex Smith that should help alot.
3. Quinton Patton-WR, this was a lesser need but a very good value that I couldn't pass up.
3. Kiko Alonso-ILB, this was the teams biggest need but ILB just isn't a high 1st type of pick and can be filled much later.
4. Maliciah Goodman-DE/OLB, high quality depth and good value.

I thought about the bigger guy's up front but thought that Short really fit what Wade has asked of the defensive linemen since he came here - He's not asking them to plug holes , he's asking them to get up the field. Short can do both.

Both of the WR's I took have similar size and measurables to #80 .... That elephant in the room had a lot to do with not only the position but the type of players at the position I went with.

I think AJ will give us at least two more years ... beyond that , its possible one of these kids grows into a #1 and who better to learn from than a future HOFer ?

I'd be following the Steelers blueprint of building talent and depth at the OLB spots .... they have been able to do it for ... ever , with little drop off over the years.

QB .... we've got a "decent one" and a capable backup. We werent going to upgrade the decent one if we had the first pick in the draft. I dont believe we would upgrade the backup beyond the first two selected.

Solid draft; Goodman has all the tools, if only he can take to the coaching.

I like it a lot .... Hope I can find an OT in the next couple selections for the Texans. Thats the one hole I havent been able to work into my draft plan from the get go. Hell I almost took Armstead at 27 instead of Short .... but didnt think the DT's were deep enough for one I like to slip to me in the 3rd.

When are you going to apply for an asst GM job, Or a scouting job? You've got the time. LOL

Do you see BoB letting Gary/Wade draft Rodgers and Washington.

The Carolina Panthers select B.W. Webb CB William&Mary .

The New Orleans Saints select

Shore up that secondary and maybe the pass rush will have time to get there for the Saints D.

Haha sorry 76, should have let you know I made it back in time, thanks to volunteering event being rained out. Thanks anyway! :)

Rogers .... Man the talent is obvious. He was first team all SEC as a sophomore I think a lot depends on how he handles the interview process. Can he convince the Texans staff that his issues are behind him. Here's a video where he talks about that stuff with reporters. Doesnt come off as rehearsed.

Just watch some of the highlights some of which come against LSU and Bama ... Its almost like watching #80. (music in this one NSFW)

Im not aware of Washington having off field issues .... :kitten:

Your drafting is ok. As long as your happy with it that's all that matters.
Some of the sternest drafters are the best.
Just not my preferred choice.
Let me say there is nothing wrong and extreme logic in your 13' draft class so far.
Everyone you got IMO is just ok. No true talent to elevate the defense or offense.
The guys taken will fill holes and perform but not at a elevated level where I could say ya.... That guy is better than average.
A bunch of average guys in my opinion. Which is hard too say to be honest.
I'm not a fan of Rogers, Dobson or Washington
Short I like but gee 1st RD. I would honestly rather Jesse Williams

Jesse Williams SEC beast. Played football I believe 3 years and since he walked into Tuscaloosa he was the the best DLman they had. A former rugby player who is freaky stout and freaky strong.
Williams is a NFL player who can be above average and be a pro bowler just off talent
Short not so much.
Rogers I like potential wise but its a lot more than just potential ... Is Rogers and Dobson were the WRs we selected 1-3 RDs I would be disappointed
I would have prolly went into another direction.

That's what makes the draft so exciting.
We could look back and see who was no point and who was way off.
Look back and laugh
Post a couple of pics of crow

I'm with you on Rodgers. I would love to know how he interviewed.

Washington got a DUI .12 and speeding 92 in a 55 in Oct 2011.

The San Diego Chargers select...

Terry Hawthorne - CB, Illinois

fbWmich2011-1561.jpg

San Diego really needs help at CB after losing Antoine Cason and Quentin Jammer this offseason. Hawthorne offers great size at the position at 6'0, 195 lbs. He also ran a 4.4 at the combine and performed well at the East-West Shrine Game. He is one of the more underrated DB's coming into this draft and has been one of the better players on the Illinois defense for the past few years.

Very good pick, I think he's underrated by the so called experts. I wouldn't be surprised to see him go in the early 3rd on draft day.

No way bro .... that would cut into my fishing expeditions and that aint happening. Ive got a 3 day 2 night trip planned for June along the Colorado river outside Bastrop and a 5 day four night trip along the Devils River planned for July. Just me , the kayak , my fishing pole and the river (and my boys).

Fair enough ... thing is , I believe every one of the players I chose so far can "take over a game". In part , the upside is why I took many of them in the spots I did .... as for the overall exercise , I agree with ya.

Dobson I don't know much so I won't speak much but I would rather a different guy

Short I do like just not at 27 maybe go WR there

Rogers I do like but I just don't see him being a Texan. A lot of risk in the pick but I do see the potential

Washington... I'd rather not. All hype

No one cared about this guy until he went through the combine process and measured out well.

Out on the tape... I don't see much.

I see more Jenkins, more Ogletree and Rambo.

Jones too but I don't like Jones either.

I would not draft Washington or Jones and I have watches a lot of Georgia bulldog football.

Up next:

14 111 Miami - TexansSeminole -

15 112 Tampa Bay - Ndevine7 -
16 113 St. Louis - RT22 -
17 114 Dallas - RockNRandy -

Dobson I don't know much so I won't speak much but I would rather a different guy

Dobson has the same size and measurables as Rogers and has fly paper for hands - 0 drops. He catches everything thrown his way. Small school guy .... but the potential is limitless.

Short I do like just not at 27 maybe go WR there

I felt like I was held hostage on that pick to be honest. I knew there was value deeper in the draft at other positions of need. Just look at my next two for confirmation.

Rogers I do like but I just don't see him being a Texan. A lot of risk in the pick but I do see the potential

I doubt the Texans take a gamble on him .... but I see him as the best WR prospect in this draft class. Getting the best WR in the ass end of the 2nd felt like a steal to me. Just watch the highlight video I posted earlier .... He looks like a man among boys against elite SEC teams such as LSU and Bama.

Washington... I'd rather not. All hype

No one cared about this guy until he went through the combine process and measured out well.

Out on the tape... I don't see much.

Washington played out of position at Georgia ... I was onto him long before the combine tho his performance there confirmed what I saw before which is an elite pass rusher from the OLB position. Yes he has warts especially in containing the run .... Barwin will definately be missed but this guy has the potential to replace and upgrade Barwin if they can coach him up in holding the edge Vs the run.

I see more Jenkins, more Ogletree and Rambo.

Ogletree was gone before my first selection and had he been there would likely have been my pick .... which changes the entire draft from that point on.

Jenkins was gone at 35 and would have been my plan B had I went with another position in round 1. He wouldnt have made it to me at #57.

Had we went with the option to trade picks , I probably would have gone a different route (though I believe I would have taken Rogers at 57 regardless).

Oh well back to the drawing board.
