I usually sent a PM with my "big board" selection of 5 picks or so if I was going to be out for a while.

Yes, I realize that posting that I have a "big board" for a message board mock draft qualifies me as a total loser. That's OK. I'll own it.

I believe there are seven teams left. The Falcons, Saints and Raiders are still available, though they don't have a first round pick.

That's right, but the Raiders only have a 5th and 6th, so I suggest we make them a group pick, or just allow the owner of the Falcons to take them. The Falcons have the 2nd fewest picks with 5.

I'm that guy that does like 10 mock fantasy football drafts on espn. Or that guy that does fantasy drafts on Madden and then doesn't even get through a season before I start over and draft again. So yeah, I'm eager.

Thanks to SM for pledging to run this thing again. And thanks ahead to all of those who don't rush others to pick.

Are we waiting for the combine to be over to start the draft?
 
I vote we wait until after the combine. It's going to make a big difference in where players go and will help our entire draft be more accurate compared to the actual draft in April.
 
they also do the coin flips (tie breakers) during combine week that determine the official draft slots for each team, if we're interested in accuracy?
 
Just a suggestion but why don't we start at 7:00am 2 days after the Combine is over? That will give all us GM's a chance to see the new player rankings and for all the prospect sites to update their lists. The Combine goes from Feb. 22nd - Feb. 28, but this is a leap year and there will be a Feb.29th. Why don't we start on Mar. 1st at 7:00 am?

I guess I'll take the cardinals, I'm not as prepared for them as the Dolphins though (Friend asked me to mock the dolphins to see how their draft might play out)

If we do it at this date should we assume all teams resign thier own FA's? That way it is an even playing field instead of a guessing game whether for example V.Jackson stays in SD or Mario in HOU.

That's what I'm going to do, but it's for each GM to decide for themselves if they want to take possible FA's into account while drafting for their team.

Sweet list! No owners are doubled up with teams. Hopefully everyone can keep this thing on track and be there when it's their pick.

What are we going to do with the rest of the teams? I say we make a team of members to pick for each of them. I'm nominating Norg and Houstonsportswriter(aka slatonisabeast). Let's have some grammatical fun with it. Or we could always get Dex and Carrbombed to team up for obvious reasons.

That is fine with me. I will be on a camping trip from Thursday March 1st through the Sunday. We can start the 29th, but someone else will need to take the reigns until I am back to work on Monday the 5th.

Texans 4 ever helped last yr and did a great job so he may be willing to moderate again.

Are we going to have a separate discussion thread? That worked well last yr.
 
Friday the 2nd of March at 7am I am getting cortizone injections in my back. I should be home between 11 to 12. Has a date and time been worked out 100% yet?

I know it's late but you can have my team the Pittsburgh Steelers. A recent death in the family has changed my priorities and available time so you'd be doing me a favor by taking the Steelers off my hands. Their 3 biggest needs are OG, ILB, and NT, then some more O-line depth, and CB depth.

Cool. I will take it. I watch a lot of steelers games so I kinda know some of their needs.

Was this directed at me? Cause I'm not a mod of any sort. SM has mod rights for this part of the board, so he was the one making the threads for selections and draft order. I wouldn't mind doing it, but I don't have the power necessary to keep things in order.

I have made the correction.

This existing thread will be for mock draft discussion and to make your selection. I will post draft results in the sticky thread called 2012 TexansTalk Mock Draft Results.

Y'all can go ahead and start whenever. I doubt we will get too far by the end of this weekend. Then when I get back on Monday I can post the draft selections that have been made.
