Yeah, this board is anti-QB and anti-RB. I think, as drafters even when drafting for other teams, we have a tendency to focus more on whatever weaknesses we perceive in the Texans and slant our draft that way. So more Safeties and Corners and DL have been picked than I'd expect in the real draft so far. And that's come at the expense of the QB, RB, and probably TE positions.
It's still fun.

I really like Pianalto from North Carolina. He'll go later than those other two but he will be a good pro.
He is a less talented version of Gronkowski from last year.
He isn't exactly great at anything, but he can do everything.

Not too many have. He isn't one of those guys that shines, he is just really solid. Kinda like Dreesen I guess. A guy that just takes care of business.
I really have to agree with you though. This TE class is underwhelming at best.

That's for sure. I can see the 1st round being unfriendly to those two positions, but I reckon they'll be flying off the board in rounds 2-3, especially RBs.

his stock has sky rocketed since his pro day, created quite a buzz among scouts. I thought 5th rd. grade was fair before, now I'm not really sure? this is the type of pick you want here. someone who fits your system (3-4 ILB prospect) he should have a high ceiling, be a position of need & team must have patience developing him without setting him back confidence wise. To bridge the gap as I mentioned he is unblockable on special teams, not sure how the rule changes will impact that facet of the game but a valuable tool to have regardless.

As a GM I don't generally value RBs very highly as there shelf life is generally short and a good scheme and blocking can make a run game.
Prospects come out of nowhere (Arian Foster) and gems can be found in many rounds.
However with the Dolphins run game in limbo with Williams and Brown likely not to be here next year the Dolphins have decided to add a back.
With their selection the Miami Dolphins select Jordan Todman, RB, Conneticut.

he would like to run 3-4 more often. this may give some indication where they go with 1st pick. Fairley could play 3-4 DE & Dareus nose tackle but still fit 4-3 scheme inside. unless they went QB of course?

I'm really torn on Hagg. Watching games he makes plays and looks the goods but he doesn't test well for an NFL player.
Hopefully he is athletic enough to transfer his skills to the NFL, if he is then you got a good player at about the right place.

^ My rationale for taking Hagg is based on his athletic ability. He has decent size and can recover quickly when covering players (he can cover TEs and slot receivers with relative ease for the most part).
He's a better tackler IMO than some of the safeties that have been taken before him. Wraps up well and takes good angles. Hagg can also blitz effectively and make plays at crucial moments.
The one problem that I see with him is that he can be easily run over and doesn't explode into the ball carrier. He also needs to work on disengaging from blocks and using his hands better when in position to make plays.

Positives: Has above-average size for the position, good bulk for his frame... Has good pop in his pads, is big enough to jar the ball loose and punish opposing ball carriers... Durability not an issue, has not missed any substantial time due to injury... Is a versatile defensive back, can line up at either strong safety or free safety... Has decent range and pretty good fluidity for his size... Instincts are solid, flows well with the play and generally knows where he is supposed to be, is smart and heady... Will make a good teammate and character guy at the next level.
Negatives: Did not really impress at the Senior Bowl, looked slow and a bit out of place... Did not run well at the combine... Not much of a playmaker, did record five interceptions in 2010, but did not have much of a statistical impact before that season... Needs to do a better job of locating the football, ball skills are just adequate at best... Not very quick, change-of-direction skills and agility are lacking... Doesn’t seem like a center-field safety, will not have the range in the NFL to cover the whole deep portion of the field.
And you really need a picture of him...

He probably should have. I think if you get him in a situation where he didn't have to do it all by himself he could be a very good #1 back.
