2007 NFL Draft Day One Thread

the mob in tennessee will be calling for some heads pretty soon

I don't know that I'd pay too much attention to the fans. The Titans have been a successful organization in the past and they have a pretty knowledgeable staff. They have some good coaches that have been successful in their own right. I wouldn't write them off - like the fans here did last year, picking them the obvious worst team in the division.

It is interesting how teams rate players. Many people here labeled Brown and Ginn a reach at #10 and Brown especially went lower. Too bad it takes around three years to evaluate a draft; it'll make for some discussion fodder for a long time though.

On a nother nore, Gonzalez should fit in very nicely at Indy.

Yeah but Floyd Reese was the architect. He is no longer there.

damn, i was hoping either wright, wilson would be there for us @#73, mccauley's still could be there i guess

Jeff Fisher and his staff will get the best out of the players they have. I will take that over a team (I'm NOT talking about the Texans here) of more talented under achievers.

Damn, I went 33 for 35 :hothboy: I bet I get screwed for the last 15, I only did a top 50.

Kolb didn't make my top 50, and Eriv Wright did so I know I can;t do that well the rest of the way.

Chris Houston goes to Atlanta, and he to didn't make my top 50. My bad he did at 47.
you good!

Kolb to the Eagles makes sense. Kolb needs a couple of years on the sideline, and Reid has to have concerns regarding McNabb's ability to stay healthy.

Typical of Kiper to criticize the pick when they don't go off his board. Kolb and Beck had outperformed Stanton and Edwards all year. It was Kolb over Beck due to his upside in athleticism and age. Beck should be the next QB to go, probably to Miami or Detroit.
that Reid decides on this pick tell me he's veRry impresseD!

Your not allowd to talk about another player on another team. He was kidding but forgot about the rule and was just messing with Keysawn.

yeah but coaches do that all the time...how many times last season did you hear GK say stuff like 'we loved him coming out of college and would love to have him here' or something like that...storm in a teacup methinks

anyway mccauley's still on the board...take him or david irons in the 3rd..seems like there's better depth at wr tomorrow

A guy coming out of college is one thing but a pro-player under contract with another team is completely different.

Great pick-up by the Bears with the rb Jackson. Oppps that was GB, still a great pick-up.

Jason Hill WR Washington State
Marcus McCauley CB Fresno State
Tanard Jackson FS Syracuse
Jonathan Wade CB Tennessee
Doug Free T Northern Illinois
Josh Gattis FS Wake Forest

I like Wade in the 3rd and Sabby Piscitelli FS, Oregon State in the 4th. That would give us a very young secondary with a lot of potential in Drob -- Wade -- Piscitelli -- Earl/Brown.

I've heard a lot of clammer for a WR in the 3rd but I don't think it's nearly as big a need as the secondary.

Woops. Sabby is gone. My bad. And he wasn't even on Mel's big board.

dang, McCauley taken in front of us. I wasn't a fan, but that only leaves Hughes, Wade and T Jackson in the secondary.

It'll be WR now.

looks like we'll have plenty of wr/cb/fs options based on the last few picks (afraid a good shot of them would be taken)
