2:1 - Who are we taking?

I love it! First two picks and we see them building the foundation on both sides of the ball. Not sexy in the eyes of many fans, but for me, this speaks volumes about long term plans.

As a veteran of 40 career starts, Su'a is the most pro-ready player on UCLA's talented offensive line. He is powerfully-built to handle bull rushes but has lateral agility and balance as a pass blocker. His mad work ethic was obvious early in life when he became an Eagle Scout and he has already completed his two-year Mormon missionary work.
Su'a-Filo lined up at left guard and left tackle this past season for the Bruins and played consistently well for the Bruins productive offense. He gets himself in trouble when he overextends himself, but he is an easy bender with a strong base to engage at the point of attack.

Strengths: Strong upper body with a well-proportioned frame. Nimble enough to get to the second level and looks natural pulling. Smooth body control and flexible hips to seal. Natural bend, balance and base with a strong anchor to generate power in the run game, can squat an elephant. Good anticipation and engages well at the point of attack.

Smart, savvy blocker with natural blocking instincts. Quick learner played left guard and left tackle. Durable and started every game in his three seasons at UCLA (40 starts; 20 at left tackle, 20 left guard).

WEAKNESSES: Inconsistent body positioning and takes poor angles. Caught lunging and struggles to recover. Not patient and lacks timing. Needs to develop a more deadly punch to jolt rushers at first contact and redirect their momentum. Lacks a mean streak and will take some plays off. Poor pad level leads to inconsistent leverage at the point. Needs to refine fundamentals. Older prospect for an underclassman (will be a 23-year-old rookie) after serving a two-year Mormon mission.

Awesome pick. This kid is a 1st rounder in my eyes. That fixes LG.

I love the pick. I wanted the best OT in the first &/or the best OG in the second.

This, imo, puts Quessenberry into the tackle conversation, which I think is where he should be.

I actually liked, really liked Newton as a rookie, but after he got hurt in 2012, he hasn't been the same since. I can't imagine him being on the team in 2014, unless Brennan start to experience issues with his knee.

Actually, Su'a Filo might be in the conversation for RT.

I want to see how Newton does in TC when 100% healthy. Q was a OT in college so he is not moving back to anything.

Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota
Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame
Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech
Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA

I'm trading down up to ten spots and still coming away with one of these guys. And I'm real happy about it!!!!

Well no trade down but got one of them. Hell yeh!!!!

Yeh he was so bad that people forget that he wasn't 100%. I don't think most care anymore. He's still on the team so why not? Lets see what hes got..
