2:1 - Who are we taking?

Derek Carr, QB, Fresno State
Louis Nix, DT, Notre Dame
Ra'Shede Hageman, DT, Minnesota
Stephon Tuitt, DE, Notre Dame
Morgan Moses, OT, Virginia
Austin Seferian-Jenkins, TE, Washington
Cyrus Kouandjio, OT, Alabama
Jace Amaro, TE, Texas Tech
Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Eastern Illinois
Xavier Su'a-Filo, G, UCLA

I'm trading down up to ten spots and still coming away with one of these guys. And I'm real happy about it!!!!

Could be Carr if they want to get their QB.

Morgan Moses is another guy to watch out for. RT is a big need and Moses is the kind of wall that you plug in for 10 years and forget about it.

I'm liking Nix myself. A Nix/Clowney/Watt D-line would be nice. :)

Very nice indeed. I wouldn't mind this at all. I guess we'd get our new QB next draft then, which was maybe why they signed the Fitz anyway.

I want Nix, but I worry about his injury history. No doubt in my mind that he is a top 5 talent if his medical report checks out.

Going to a "true" 3-4 where you need a monster NT not a Wade style mini-NT. Better be Nix.

There are just a bunch of great guys still on the board at this spot. I'd love to trade back and get some more picks.

I'm hoping for Nix or Tuitt although I wouldn't mind if we go Hageman or Jernigan.

I wouldn't mind going Jace Amaro or Antonio Richardson.

And then 3-1... Garoppolo? Murray? McCarron? I'm cool with that.

Tuitt. We have several decent choices for NT deeper in the draft. I'm concerned about Nix's injury history. Clowney + Tuitt on the right side would dominate.

I'd be happy with any of the above. I'm glad Slick Rick didn't panic and trade back into the first round.

Post in here who you think we pick @ 2:1.

My pick is Louis Nix, NT, Notre Dame

Hard for me to believe Nix has fallen this far .... Tho its going to be awful hard to make that pick with the gaping hole at QB.

Yeah there is a wealth of talent giving this pick a lot of value & GM's get a night to think it over.

I do have a huge complaint tho. Not moving up to take a QB , letting Manziel & Bridgewater slip away.
They had to know the QB hungry teams would move ahead of them as Cleveland was obviously concerned with Houston and other QB needy teams jumping them @ 26 and moved up to thwart that.
The other issue being the difference in rookie contracts , 4 years in the second , 5 years for the first. A move to ~31 to snag Bridgewater wouldn't have cost them much and would have helped them cap wise.

Unless that is they don't think either will be quality QB's or they were content with whichever of Bridgewater , HWWNBM2 , Garappolo fell to them. Maybe they shock me and don't take a QB with their next pick.(Its really hard to get a handle on what round Garappolo will be taken (2-3)).

At this point , I'd have to go with HWWNBM2 ..... :smiliepalm:

Nix or Carr2 would be cool with me. Not sure if that's my final answer.

I would add Timmy Jernigan DT and Marquis Lee into the mix.

Nix is here (won't last long) could be much needed starting NT prospect for Texans.

Taking Nix would give them a hell of a front seven .... and they'd probably lose a buncha 10-3 / 13-6 games .... I'm really torn with this pick because Nix is there.

Wait till next year for a long term solution at QB ??? (I don't think its Mallett).

I'm hoping Nix or Hageman. I had a nightmare last week that we'd take the younger Carr, and it just might come true...

I think we can wait another round or two for a QB. My favorites are Garoppolo and Murray.

I'm hoping Nix. Been wanting a real, honest to goodness NT since Seth Payne donated his knee to the turf in the Superdome. But just another name to keep an eye on - Cyrus Kouandjio.

Lord help me I'm talking myself into Derek Carr. Sit him for a full year and pray to God. There are a lot of other good players though so taking one of them or trading down is fine with me. In no particular order:

Joel Bitonio
Louis Nix
Stephon Tuitt
Xavier Sua-Filo
Kyle Van Noy
Ra'Shede Hageman

So that's at least 7 including Carr and I'm sure there are some I can't recall right now.

Nix is perfect fit for RC D. Unless there is a medical reason, I'd take him and not look back. DC2 is an option, but QB psyche is so brittle, I'm not sure we're the best place for him to start.

Nix! Let Clowney, Watt, and Cushing get the pub. Someones gotta hold the front.

This is pretty close to my board.

Oakland will want to trade up for Carr and I think you can get one of these guys. Nix will probably be there at 38.

ASJ for me but we will trade down and still get him.

A good pass catching TE.

Don't be fooled by some of the crappy scouting reports. He has been blocking all season long under Sark's revamped up tempo offense, which help led to the decline in his stats. He is a real well rounded tight end.

He is big enough and adaptable enough to be an absolute force in he NFL.

I'm kind of worried about Nix's health issues

I can see worrying about his overall health. Hell I have no idea the extent of his meniscus injury. If we trade out of 2-1 and he's not there wherever the pick lands us, then we can always look at possibly Daquan Jones, McCullers, or Carrethers available later as our beefy NT.

I hope they snag Nix here. How many years have we all wanted a nt like Nix. Its been since the old Seth Payne days.

If the Texans pass on Carr and Jimmy Garoppolo then I think they are targeting Tom Savage as a sit and learn prospect. The 2-1 pick will be highly tradable and could be a real bounty for the Texans if the right team sees a player there they just have to have. With a day to think on it someone just might give us that bounty.

Bridgewater was the last QB that you could`ve expected to start and do something this season. Carr scares the crap out of me because of his inflated stats and his unability to live with pressure. Same goes for Garapolo (though I like him a little better).McCarron, Savage or Murrar all should be available in the 3d.

I´d either trade the pick or take bpa. That could be Nix, it could be Tuitt, it could be one of the tackles. But one thing is for sure: we can grab an impact starter here and missed out on the most promising QBs.

Meanwhile i hope its Derek Carr. Although its kind of a risky pick, because the Carr History they can spend a later pick for a guy with some injury-history like Aaron Murray or Mettenberger.

There's plenty of good talent still on the board. I agree, trade down pick up an extra 3rd and still get a quality player in the 2nd. I wonder if Rick Smith gets much sleep tonight fielding trade offers all night long. Also with only 1 of the top 4 QB's still available someone might be willing to pay dearly for #33.

I'd love to trade down with San Francisco #56 and #61 for our #33.
