Yes, I need to double check the roster with everything going on, but I know for sure we need TE, OT, LB, SS, DT, DE

offer sent, thank you, you are our third human linebacker, still could use more.

done...thanks

I think we have the makings of a good team.

Is there any other spots you guys need? I still have some flex points available.

Need immediately:

DT,TE, LB, DE

Need good depth at those above and:

C, G, OT, WR, SS, FS, QB

I can't stress enough that the "starters" will see about the same playing time as the back-ups. We need good depth all the way around, with peopl working hard to up there guys levels, boost when you can, and train hard.

We are well on our way to having a very tough team. Thanks to all the people who have joined, you guys are making the difference.

when does the season start????

Probably Saturday.

**Everyone needs to buy equipment and make sure you equip it. As we start to win, and develope our players the money will come. Right now we are putting together the building blocks for a playoff team. Please stay focused on developing your guys.

To all the newbies, I suggest reading up on a couple of threads or asking anyone on here some questions.

I've noticed that most everyone is planning on boosting 3 levels immediately once the season starts, but I think it would be wise to hold off until later in the season. The lower your level, the more experience you get for games and training. Which means you will level up faster. If we make the playoffs without boosting, it will make us so much tougher when we use all of our boosts at playoff time.

Well you can look at it like this. Do you boost early and help your team sooner, or boost later and help your team later. Some people opt to boost later because they plan on only staying with the team for 1 year and it will be easier to get on a higher ranked team that way, those that boost and stay with their teams are doing so in preperation for the next season.

How much time does this game take up? Would you have to be present at your pc for games at certain times of the week? How long does a season last?

The games are simulated (simm'd) every time there is a game at gametime. After which you can go in and watch play by play replays and see how your player performs at your leisure.

You only need a few minutes every day or every other day to set your training and attend to your player. However if you want to watch your unit's plays, check on what needs improved, and discuss tatics/strategy you can spin much more time. All in all, hopefully everyone is involved a few minutes a day to help develope their player. Good communication is key, with the DC, OC, and Owner about the scheme and what we are trying to do.

I can not stress enough that OL and DL need to build strenght, stamina, and level up. It all starts up front as they say.

I agree with Brandon, since we are in it for the long haul we have time to level up through XP points, but we want to start of strong and we should stay ahead of the pack. JMHO.

As far as training, I would pick a few key PHYSICAL attributes to most of the time increase on with skill points and train for the less important ones.

Like for a WR, spend your skill points on receiving ability, speed, stamina, hands. Train on the other stuff, etc. hope that make sense. If not check out this link, it provides a good idea of how to go about it:

There is still time for everyone to boost now before season 2 starts. Once season 2 starts, you can boost 3 more times for that season. The problem with using all of your boosts early, is that you won't be able to boost if needed later. It's your player, so you can do what you want. All I am saying is that I think we are going to be very competitive early, and if we are, we will be better off if we save our boosts until they are needed. If we use all of our boosts early, we may start out better than other teams, but if they save their boosts, they can level up naturally and actually pass us by at the end of the season. Like I said, it's your player. I'm just giving suggestions and my opinion. Do with it what you wish.

Well, with looking at the other teams in the league, I think we are going to start off much better than them anyway.

I really don't mind spending some time on it. Hell, I have been on it for hours already. It would just be hard for me to Know what time of which days I can be on. But it looks like a lot of fun and I can't wait for the Houston Toros to start ripping it up.

It seems pretty obvious to me that the best long term strategy would be the one you are advocating. I have never played before but just looking at the numbers, it seems quite clear that it is advantageous to wait on your boosts.

But that only works if we are sure we can compete and get into the playoffs without leveling up our players.

They way I understand it, if you boost now it counts as a season 2 boost. In other words I think we only get to boost 3 times between now and the end of season 2 not 6 times total. Just the way I understand it.

No...Season 2 doesn't start until tomorrow, so all boosts done today are credited to season one. After today, they will go towards season 2

i dont think so, boosting seems to still be going on for season 1 and the resets are coming sometime tonight or tomorrow when they reactivate training and paychecks. also, if you have any plans on stadium upgrades you have to do it before the resets or just wait until next offseason.

I boosted 3 times in Season 1 with a TE I have on a different team. And then I boosted him again during the offseason and it said I only have a total of 3 until the end of Season 2.

Okay, disregard that. My TE from season 1, I can not do anything to. But the CB created during the offseason was allowed to boost during this offseason. We will find out tomorrow when the season starts whether I can boost him, but I suspect since he was created after season 1 his boosting will count against season 2.

I boosted my FS all three times in season one, and I can't boost again until season 2 starts.

Same with my TE from season 1. So either players created AFTER season 1 or being boosted (such as my CB) and counted as Season 1 or their boosting will count against the total of 3 we are allowed during season 2.

as long as the boosting is done today or prior, it counts towards season one. It doesn't matter when you created your player. I've created a few in the past couple days, and boosted them all to lvl 4. Once the new season starts tomorrow, I will have 3 boosts I can use. I might use one boost early, but will most likely save the others until closer to the end of the season depending on how the season goes.

I think I have leveled up as much as possible. Is there anyway I may not know of to level up quickly?

Prolly not. You can only level up by boosting 3 teams during the season. The rest you have to earn by XP points which only are given for playing time or off days between games when the season is active. Every time you get to 1000 points you level up and get 5 more skill points.

you still have two more boosts that you can do before tomorrow. To boost your player up to lvl 4, you will need 400 flex points. If you don't have the flex points needed, you will have to buy them or just let your player level up naturally.

Does anyone want to take on the role of DC? We will need someone who will be active, check on the Defense players devlopement, make suggestions to fit the scheme, etc. Basically, need to be very active.

Let me know if you are interested.

I'm willing to give it a shot.

I'm not sure how the DC's role works in this game, but if you don't find someone else, I guess I could try it.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I'm still interested in making a WR or DE for the TT team.

Because of this issue with my dog, it basically has left all of our credit/debit cards empty and it's pretty hard to buy the flex necessary for such. All cards should be fine tomorrow, so I'll make one when I get home from school then. :)

do you have paypal? If you can get your player set up before they switch over to season 2, you will be able to boost him to level 4 and then have 3 more boosts available tomorrow.

benjiels is now a level 4 free safety..and ready to ROCK! lets go gang...i want to see some great team play.

Okay, I tried making a WR. But it's crazy expensive to boost him. I hope it's alright if I make a DE instead. :O

Alright. I managed to use my bank account for this. Thank God it worked. lol

Don't forget to post a link to your player here. If you want use your season one boosts, you have to do it before they reset everything for season 2. Once the new season starts, all boosts will be charged against season 2, but you will have all season to use those.

the team does need WR's, but it also needs a DE or two, so that's fine. Just post the player link here and make sure to make it viewable for all to see.

You are going to need to focus his daily training on agility, strength and confidence. Agility is pretty important for a FS. Strength is also important, so you don't miss tackles. Confidence is important for everyone, because it effects your players morale. The lower your confidence level the faster your morale will go down. As your morale goes down, your player plays worse and worse.

Don't worry too much about the special abilities yet, because until the higher levels, they really don't effect your play too much. The next time you level up, focus on your physical abilities.

looks like a pretty good build. Focus your daily training on vision and confidence to start with, but you will also need to improve your agility eventually.

Have you bought equipment yet?

Yes. And thanks.

When I boost next I'll put some toward those two. I can see that those are blaring holes now. lol

The best way to increase your confidence is with daily training. Use the skill points you receive from leveling up on your vision and other physical abilities. You don't need to boost if you don't want to, but if you do boost tomorrow, only boost once. Save your other two boosts for later when we might need them.

Just remember, everything I'm telling you is my opinion of what you should do based on what I have read and learned so far from playing this game. It is your player, so you still need to do what you feel is best. If you want my opinion, just ask and I will tell you what I think.

i'd actually train vision. mario needs to turn on his stats as a comparison, but tony-wan looks to be more of a RDE ... i'd keep working on his physical stats when you level up (speed, agility, tackling). unless our team just really sucks (i highly doubt it) and you're missing tackles left and right (again i doubt it), you really dont have to worry too much about confidence.

i'll throw my hat in the DC ring also, it's what i did with my last team. whoever ends up in that spot needs to remember that team tactics are only a small part of it - you have to make sure that everyone is setting up their players to match what the team's trying to do. for example - DE's in pass rush, cornerbacks in man coverage tight and aggressive, lb's focusing on run, etc. scouting opponents is also crucial.
