College Football Recruiting

As everyone here knows I am a huge Notre Dame fan. I follow college recruiting a great deal and have posted a site that I frequent before. I was wondering if anyone else follows college recruiting and what schools they follow.

This is the site I goto now for following of Notre Dame and the upcoming recruiting class.

Just curious if anyone else does.

You're putting together a very good class, Seminole. Some think that Manuel will be better than Terrelle Pryor. I was disappointed that you got Nick Moody, too. But it looks like you might be losing A.J. Alexander.

Good pickup in McCarthy, Specnatz.

I never really thought ND was that high on Alexanders list. He was committed to FSU and the docommitted now is looking and ND is no where in his top five.

i'm not that big into recruiting but i do follow's UT's a bit. I can tell you they got another great class this year and the top of the order was linemen and CB's. Which is what they'll need next year with i Guess Dockery is all that remains from one of the best UT lines we've seen(and that we got a piece of!). Also considering they lost pretty mcuh their secondary this year they'll need some guys to step up.

The only thing that has bothered me is QB's Perriloux at the last minute decedied to go with LSU...and this guy could've really followed Vince well from all counts that i've heard. I think Flynn will get the nod this year though. They lost another QB this year at the last minutes to Florida. I do think McCoy has that role sewn up for a few years barring something bad happening. But Remember the name John Chiles. Might Redshirt him this year but this kid will be the kind that you can't keep off the field.

yeah, I read that we put together another good draft class, but of course that is all on paper, whats important is performance on the field. I was also dissapointed when Periloux decided to go t o LSU, but I am happy with Colt. I think he is the real deal and will be great for us. I am not familair with Chiles. If Colt has another good year, I could see him on a Heismen push campaign ina couple of years(and maybe throwing in Chiles when we run up the score) and get him a little work. Then if Colt has a great season in 2 years, he might go pro and we are ready to go with Chiles.

Texas recruit class per rivals .... wow I am shocked no QB.
Currently ranked No. 3 behind UCLA, who is behind and at number 1 in the country Notre Dame. Then again NLI is not until Feb.

Spec we had one of the better prospects in the nation comitted for the fall but like Perriloux ended up changing his mind and deceided to stay in state. Except Brantley is from Florida and uped with Meyer.

I'm a fan of football at all levels and watch recruiting closely - from the bottom up -- meaning where the Texas HS kids end up.

This year 26 former Texas HS football players were selected in the NFL draft.

176 Texas HS players signed with 49 different Div. I-A schools outside Texas this year. 16 Texas kids went to OSU alone. (and 13 to Tulsa)

Football factory LaMarque (4A) has 19 players that signed D-I scholarships in the past 4 years (that included 9 guys off their '04 team)

Here's a random guy for everyone to watch this year: DE Bruce Davis, UCLA, 6-3 237, second team All-Pac 10 last year, graduate of Clear Creek HS, and son of former Raider and Oiler lineman Bruce Davis.

Dave Campbell's Texas Football
is worth every bit of $9.95 so I highly recommend picking one up off the news stand.

16 players (out of 24) on Campbell's 2006 Super Team stayed in Texas this fall (13 at Texas).

Looking ahead to next year, 5 of the 12 players on Campbell's Super Team Offense are from the Houston area: Andrew Luck, Sam McGuffie, Darryl Stonum (Dulles), J.B. Shugarts (Klein), and Daniel Campbell (Aldine).

Two of my friends were featured in the magazine. One is the premiere long snapper in Texas...though I don't know what that could really get him.

Specialized skills can sometimes pay dividends. Ask Bryan Pittman. 5th year in the NFL and that's pretty much all he does. Does (or will) your friend have 'football size' by the time he's a senior?

The premiere pole vaulter (of all things) in Texas HS last year got an athletic scholarship to UT for Fall '07. He didn't play any other sports and only pole vaulted for a couple of years. You just never know...

He's around 6'1. He's going to a snapping camp in Wisconsin next week. He's at school every single day working on his craft.
