Looks like something I scratch up.I like this list
All I want is the best OL in the draft at either LT or IOL. How they get there doesn't matter to me.Yeah we have been talking about that for over a week now. What are your thoughts?
Dad gum Nick! I was looking forward to that fifth round pick in 2027!
Nah.. he has that point chart on his lap and using all ten fingers for trades.Right now, it looks like Caserio hates rounds 4 and 5.
Where is the draft tracker thread? Is it in the Texans forum?Which thread are we using for comments, picks and overall draft talk tonight. This one, or the new draft tracker thread. I’m not bouncing between the two so someone make an executive decision!
I suggest the draft tracker thread for general draft talk, this thread for texans specific draft talk, and the threads that will be created throughout the draft for talk about each shiny new pick specifically.Which thread are we using for comments, picks and overall draft talk tonight. The next good OL Nick drafts will be the first good OL Nick drafts.I prefer an offensive lineman but if the top guys are gone and Egbuka is there...I have zero issues. His floor is very high imho. Worst case, he's a solid if somewhat unspectacular slot receiver. A mild disappointment in that case, but not a true bust. Still a valuable piece. Upside is above and beyond JSN...who made the pro-bowl last year. He's also swarmy as hell for a receiver and has a lot of intangibles that are plusses.
He's got a chance to be a better version of Kirk, and can replace him next year. And next year...add a true burner/outside receiver. Now you've got 3 guys that can all burn you.
Heck...I'm not even opposed to doubling up and getting a guy in the 3rd round that can be that guy.

I said that once and got blastedToo many threads! Time to get the show on the road when Goddell rides in a
On a bike.
If you like CJ you should hope for Jackson.I'm more than good with that result. I like Jackson a lot. Very unsexy pick, but a foundational piece for the o-line rebuild.
Awesome, load up on picks.
Quoted for truth. The next good OL Nick drafts will be the first good OL Nick drafts.
What player did you mock? The only mock I did I had us trading back so I'm not mad about this.
Detroit just took Williams
Probably the moment booker and Banks were picked
What you would expect him to say. I believe he also said that a player they had on their board for 25 is still on the board. We have 5 picks tomorrow so it's good the coaching staff is still positive about their plan going into the draft.
Booker was picked at 12, Zabel at 18, and Egbuka at 19. No other linemen or receivers were picked during the teens. That tells me they weren't interested in Golden at 25, so no regrets there.
I have come to appreciate how Caserio picks a strategy and drafts with intent.
RB's too.Lots of good DBs available day 2. Gives me pause regarding the Pitre extension. But they wanted to secure a position and focus on other areas. Tons of luxury picks to choose from. One thing is for sure… Texans will test that BPA saying. Because if i’m looking on the BPA board i’m seeing it littered with DBs and edge rushers after round 1.
RB's too.
This is the kind of GM I wanted instead of RS, BOBThese pressers remind me how Texans fans should thank whatever power they believe in that we now have Nick after years and years of whatever brain trust we had prior. Intentionality. Conviction. A PLAN. Top 5 GM in the league and he’s not 4 or 5 IMO.

And it’s funny how some here initially didn’t want him b/c of his ties to Easterby and BoB.These pressers remind me how Texans fans should thank whatever power they believe in that we now have Nick after years and years of whatever brain trust we had prior. I forgive any and all bad attitudes/poor assessments/etc.. as long as they were born from Easterby disdain!.. and so should all.And it’s funny how some here initially didn’t want him b/c of his ties to Easterby and BoB.

They made phone calls around the league Thursday and engaged with teams about potential trades up and trades down. It’s unclear how high the Texans were willing to move up but two sources indicated one of the teams they tried to trade with was the Dallas Cowboys to move up to No. 12.
“I don’t want to say we talked to the whole league, but we probably talked to the whole league at every different level,” Caserio said, adding he was probably more active Thursday than he has been in any of his five years leading the draft. “If teams aren’t interested, they aren’t interested. Nothing we can do about it.”
“We think we’re going to get some pretty good football players tomorrow,” Caserio said. “We felt like the value of the draft was basically in the middle, so we’ll try to take advantage of our opportunities here tomorrow.
“We put ourselves in a pretty good position for next year as well.”
“We have more flexibility tomorrow than we did today,” Caserio said. “There’s still a number of good players out there that we really like. We’re probably not going to get everybody, but there’s probably going to be some players that we feel good about that we feel are going to be an asset to our program.”
The Texans liked Texas offensive tackle Kelvin Banks Jr., a league source said, but after conferring with agents, realized he was going much earlier than where many mock drafts had him going.
The Texans also liked Alabama guard Tyler Booker, who went 12th to the Cowboys; Emeka Egbuka, who was drafted No. 19 by the Buccaneers; and guard Donovan Jackson, who went to the Vikings at No. 24, one pick ahead of Houston, though it’s unclear if the Texans would have taken him there. The Texans liked him, but also thought they could get him later.
To be fair, we were all tired of trying to copy the Pats and Easterby only got Caserio to save his own ass because the Texans were going to hire Omar KhanAnd it’s funny how some here initially didn’t want him b/c of his ties to Easterby and BoB.
