Bears could sign Trey Smith and trade for Tunsil. Their quarterback cannot leave the NFL in sacks again.

The Chicago Bears have big plans in mind for their offense this spring, and it starts with likely changes up front.www.sportsmockery.com
Teams can begin applying the franchise tag on February 18 and have until March 4 to do so. Impending free agents can be legally contacted on March 10, and the market will officially open at 4 p.m. ET on March 12.
Beware of another Mahomes restructureI am hearing rumblings that Bolton will return to Kansas City for a 4-year 56 million dollar contract. This will impact trey Smith who many are hoping will come to Houston.
Cap hit for the 30 year old for 2025 is ~67 m. His 17 million base could be bonused out but part of that would also hit this season. It definitely could be used to extend but it won't help much.Beware of another Mahomes restructure
What would you realistically want back for Tunsil?Bears could sign Trey Smith and trade for Tunsil. Their quarterback cannot leave the NFL in sacks again.

He is better than any left tackle in the draft and in my opinion than in free agency that I am aware of. I would expect the level of 1.10 + 2.39 and 2.41 from the Bears. Cleveland would be another team that would want him but cannot afford him under their salary cap in my opinion and do not see them giving up what I would want this year. I looked at 33, 67 + round 1 in 2026 but probably not. What would you realistically want back for Tunsil?

Wills had a grade 3 MCL with a strain of his ACL. He underwent an MCL repair the end to 2023 at which time was discovered to have meniscus damage. He didn't return to practice until Aug 2024. He was gimpy in 2024 and hyperextending his same knee last Nov............anticipation is that he will require further surgery on the knee sometime during 2025, probably sooner than later. Knee hyperextension, especially with his previous injuries, can lead to further damage to the MCL and/or the PCL and/or the ACL and/or the meniscus.............lots to be concerned about.A good list. There are other very good FA WR's out there that aren't listed in FA.
Hufanga would be a nice additionAnyone interested in a safety? I see several that would bolster that group.
I’d love for Reid to come back. I hated losing him.Anyone interested in a safety? I see several that would bolster that group.
That's who I'm betting that they bring in.Hufanga would be a nice addition
Would be a perfect fit and complement to Bullock. Would also have the coaches who made him an all pro when healthy (DeMeco and Undlin).Hufanga would be a nice addition
Buy low candidate.Hufanga has only played 17 of the last 34 games due to injuries. He was a beast in 2022 but since then he has suffered a torn ACL, an ankle injury, a wrist injury and a concussion. I'd be extremely conservative in making an offer to him.
I’d love for Reid to come back. I hated losing him.
I think getting benched by Culley/Lovie for speaking up in a meeting is what left him sour on Houston.I’d like him back here too, but Reid left on bad terms and in permanent residence in BOB’s dog house. I was fully on Reid’s side and I’m sure he understands BOB and his sidekick are long gone but I also imagine it left a bad taste in his mouth. Small chance but highly unlikely imho.
I think after seeing KC franchise of Smith at $23 plus IMO sets an extension of ~ same APY, Fries is giggling thinking his agent just bumped his asking. Will Fries
Holland, Kyzir White, and Bolton are top of food chain in coverage.A good list. If healthy somebody is going to get a steal in Willis.

It may be misguided, but I've got faith in Harris.Holland, Kyzir White, and Bolton are top of food chain in coverage.
I like Harris especially at the end of the year 23. He was an elite player. My issue is ToTo, Al Shiir, and Pitre are terrible in coverage. That's the middle of the field, ie te/slot. Guess where they struggled? Te/slot. They could really use a safety and or a lb who can cover. It may be misguided, but I've got faith in Harris.
Mukuba would solve a lot of issues. Kevin Winston in the 3rd would be a really good pick also IMHO.I like Harris especially at the end of the year 23. He was an elite player. Newer studies reveal that in the 1st to 2nd year post repair, performance tends to be blunted. After that, performance tends to be close to pre-injury. Although performance level returns, longevity of career as a whole has been shown to decrease.Hey @CloakNNNdagger any concerns of James Daniels from Steelers injury?
Right, but what would make him think he would be able to do that at Chiefs?I think getting benched by Culley/Lovie for speaking up in a meeting is what left him sour on Houston.
@leebigeztx .................... I should have qualified the above by saying that it refers to the 80% of players that are able to return to play. Furthermore linemen as opposed to skill positions are more likely return and return to pre-injury level since they are less likely to require explosive speed, agility, and quick changes of direction.Newer studies reveal that in the 1st to 2nd year post repair, performance tends to be blunted. Obviously have to know the context. But successful teams collaborate players and coaches. Not uncommon for players to suggest things to coaches, especially veteran players. Successful coaches encourage that collaboration.Right, but what would make him think he would be able to do that at Chiefs?
Or any other team for that matter?
Atwell gets 1 year 10 million. Not sure why Rams wouldn’t work to use that money to keep Kupp.
