What about 7 step drops? When you have a bad o-line you probably shouldn't also be near the top of the league in 5 step drops. That's on Slowik.
They’re waiting for Tony Romo to become available lolThey are going to roll the dice on Peyton Manning........![]()

It's a good job if it opens up. But I have confidence in DeMeco if he really wants Kelly. What if Chip Kelly has his eyes on a potential opening in Buffalo?
What if Ryans really wants Kelly's boss.. or both? Heck, I want Frye the line coach included. It's a good job if it opens up. But I have confidence in DeMeco if he really wants Kelly.
Somebody that can make CJ understand that he doesn't know as much about ball as he thinks he does. Also Chip Kelly's offense is the OSU offense CJ ran at OSU so maybe Kelly will be somebody CJ will listen too, since Kelly is Day's mentor. I really cant think of another OC candidate offhand that I think CJ will be willing to listen and learn from, since apparently CJ thinks he knows more about ball than anybody but Ryan Day.Everybody writing Josh McCown off because reports say he’s unlikely to leave Minnesota?
Where have you heard this?Anyone else hearing chip Kelly will be the new OC?
No. At least nothing besides talking heads saying he’d be a great signing by the Texans. Where or who did you hear say he’s going to be the new OC? I’d be happy with Chip Kelly signing to be the new OC, by the way.Anyone else hearing chip Kelly will be the new OC?
No we are writing him off because we don’t want him.Everybody writing Josh McCown off because reports say he’s unlikely to leave Minnesota?
Dont want him with CJ.No we are writing him off because we don’t want him.

I still wouldn’t mind Klint Kubiak provided the Saints allow him to interview.

Buffalo would be nucking futs to fire McDermott. That's like OSU fans wanting Day fired for losing to Michigan. What if Chip Kelly has his eyes on a potential opening in Buffalo?
Zierlien said this a few posts upthread when talking to Granato. Is this your new narrative or did you get this from someone else?

This is what I was wanting to hear about Chip Kelly and his offense and how well CJ might adapt to.Somebody that can make CJ understand that he doesn't know as much about ball as he thinks he does. He seems to “fit the mold” of the type of guy DeMeco wants on this team player or coach. And he’s experienced. But i’d like more marquee achievements on his resume.![]()
Meet Syracuse OC Jeff Nixon: Coach to NFL superstars, someone who's quickly 'elevated' the Orange
Jeff Nixon's worked with everyone from Reggie Bush to Christian McCaffreywww.cbssports.com
He's gotta flow like water. He has to be water. His fundamental should be solid & his team needs to be solid. And OC that can install and call an efficient offense is critical. It's really important for our next OC to have really analyzed our issues this season and truly know where to make corrections. Whether it is scheme, protections, concepts, personnel, etc. For me that means a candidate that has had some experience and success in the past as an OC.
This, a thousand times this. He's gotta flow like water. He has to be water. His fundamental should be solid & his team needs to be solid.
But, imo, he has to be able to recognize what defenses are doing to him, know what weaknesses are available & exploit that weekness.
Same could be said for StroudThis, a thousand times this.
Really got the feeling the Slowick had no ability to self-scout or adapt on the fly, once a D had him figured out he was cooked.
Are we talking about the same thing?Same could be said for Stroud
Once the defenses figured out Stroud HE could not adjust either in regards to picking up the blitzAre we talking about the same thing?
I was referencing things like formation sequences, plays out of certain formations, route combos and the like; or things that are beyond CJ's control.
I believe Stroud can absolutely learn from this season. I want an OC that can identify Stroud's issues and coach him up. Create a scheme that works with him and better utilizes our current and future weapons. Yes, our O line as a unit was subpar and needs to be addressed. But I agree that some of the sacks were on Stroud. It just became a jumbled mess that our offense couldn't escape this season. Hopefully we can change that.Once the defenses figured out Stroud HE could not adjust either in regards to picking up the blitz

If we are forced to hire Jerrod Johnson it will be pretty telling.I’m a bit concerned about the talk around Stroud in all of this.
Rumours that he wouldn’t listen to his OC in college.
Recurring images of him pouting on the sideline after bad plays while Bobby is trying to work stuff out.
I mean, right or wrong, you’ve got to play the play as called or else nothing works.
If the OC doesn’t get it right then of course we move on before questioning or top of the draft QB. But there is a worrying pattern there.
And best case scenario if this all comes to be successful with Ryans and Stroud, those OCs are going to get hired away pretty damn quick, so it will be a limiting factor now or soon either way.
Defence seemed good enough to win it all this season. I guess the one question mark is that the top 3 on the depth chart for the role of covering Kelce (Pitre, Ward, Harris) all got injured, maybe due to that misfortune you could say the D didn’t quite match up this time around. But hey, got to hope for better luck than that in future.
Can CJ work with the best OC the Texans can provide him without some firewall being built? I guess we will find out over the next 12 months-3 years.
Everybody writing Josh McCown off because reports say he’s unlikely to leave Minnesota?
What was he asked to do that he did not?Stroud has to be willing to be coached.
Apparently run the play that was called. What was he asked to do that he did not?
The accusation is that in college he refused to speak to his OC at all. The rest is speculation I believe, coming from Lance Zeirlein. Take that for what it’s worth. What was he asked to do that he did not?
