Randy Moss anyone?Agreed. My first thought was Bob McNair would never approve of this signing. Absolute worst case, he is a very short term rental and he is dumped in the off-season. Best case, he becomes a model citizen, re-signs here and becomes a very solid #2 would also help Nico’s game as well.
This reminds me very much of something the BB era New England teams would do, and most often..it worked out. When it didn’t…no worries. Toss the guy out like old newspaper and move on. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Big thumbs up on this one from me.
This should be the only response. What’s being somewhat overlooked in his previous stops and behavior is the fact that He really hasnt had a qb at any of his previous stops & where he’s been placed on the depth chart. When he had Rothlisberger at the end of his career for a few years, he was reasonably productive and was a clear #2 and had a thousand yard season. but his last year there he endured Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph…Then he got unceremoniously traded to Carolina and had to deal with Young and an over-the-hill Dalton. Yeah he went to Baltimore after that and had Jackson, but was relegated to #3-4 behind Bateman….who to his credit has emerged this year…but prior to that, had done nothing close to what Johnson has done in the league.
If I’m being optimistic, the kid could be just needing and wanting the right situation..which he COULD have here with a young emerging qb in CJ and us basically having a #2 WR slot wide open just begging to be solidified. But if he comes here thinking he should be the #1 guy over Nico and pouts…yeah he can kick rocks.
We'll see how long that lasts! Is it just one game?![]()

WR Johnson waived after 2 games with Texans
The Texans on Tuesday waived wide receiver Diontae Johnson as they prepare for their divisional round playoff game Saturday against the Chiefs.www.espn.com
Got a tude with Meco (Slowik)
I was reading between the lines lolWhere does it say that? Sorry. Reading is hard.
Following the Texans' wild-card playoff victory over the Los Angeles Chargers on Saturday, Johnson was visibly upset in the locker room. He was fully dressed sitting at his locker staring in frustration because of a lack of playing time and targets. Running back Joe Mixon and linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair tried to comfort and encourage him.

Crickets? Same with my evaluation of British Brooks.CJ Stroud slides like I break dance.
I am waiting for all those folks that said I appraised Diontae Johnson incorrectly, to tell me how he did as I know they saw something I did not.
Our draft spot dropped from 19 to 25...
Slowik gets a break from me...
This week.
Howard name called some but not the rest of oline.
Patterson/Scruggs/ Fisher looked pretty darn good vs Chargers defensive 7. Much better than I dared hope for.
I do not remember any significant injuries?
Cade Stover looked good.
2nd paragraph I thinkWhere in the article did it say that?
He's going to be fine
You guys? SMH
There's nothing about him having attitude with Ryans or Slowik. It's frustration because of a lack of playing time and targets. Like, wtf does the dude expect? He's coming here late in the season during a playoff run and he has no chemistry with Stroud.2nd paragraph I think

Well he might be better than Metchie but Metchie has been here for years and that was Johnson's first game with Stroud. Dude should have had some patience before getting frustrated. He might still be on an NFL roster.I would be mad if I spent all week watching Metchie in practice and knowing I'm a better player and then we go into a game and he gets 8 targets and I get ONE. But, you have to read the room. Some players think stupidity and selfishness equals passion and competitiveness. On a couple of plays, Metchie went in motion, stopped at the LT, chipped the defender and ran an out. I was thinking that would be an easy pass and catch for Johnson but he never got that opportunity.
On the TD to Nico, he was the first to congratulate him. Initially, I thought he ran the wrong route. He was drawing a defender to Nico that made it a tight window. I'm not sure if he was running a drag or after Nico cleared the area, he was going to be the next underneath option.
After a big win like that, you cannot be complaining about your targets. It's entitled, selfish and flat stupid. It's unfortunate. I really thought he could help this team.

Some mentioned it was time to move on from the Metchie experiment. I also imagined Diante would get those Metchie snaps next game...I would be mad if I spent all week watching Metchie in practice and knowing I'm a better player and then we go into a game and he gets 8 targets and I get ONE. Stover is on IRIf some of you will bother to recall, it was agreed that the only reason why they brought him in was desperation. They needed someone other than Nico who could separate. Tank could separate. Diggs could separate. But now it’s back to Nico by himself, and guess how the Chiefs are going to deal with that? Metchie and Hutch won’t separate. Shultz used to be able to, until he got that fat contract, and Stover has hit the rookie wall.
I think the only problem that Andy Reid will have on Saturday is keeping everyone from looking ahead.
Oh, well that just changes everything, doesn’t it?Stover is on IR

Can’t wait to find out.Not sure how we’ll win now!

As I expected Diontae Johnson, after what I heard was a total meltdown over his dissatisfaction with his involvement in the offense, was waived by the Texans. He'll be looking for his 5th team in 13 months.

“With Diontae, unfortunately it didn’t work out and we’re on to the Chiefs,” Ryans said following Tuesday’s practice.
This team… and the Ravens… and the Steelers… and even the Panthers!Texans cutting him was a mistake. Funny when the Texans had there downs this season, Cj talked about players not buying in, yet those players are still on the team. Oh well, ig you can be sorry on this team but as long as you’re a good boy, your roster spot will be secured
B*tching and complaining because of lack of targets after a big team win to advance in the playoffs is what got him waived. Instead of celebrating with the team he was “all about me” attitude. ack to Baltimore: The Ravens claimed their former WR Diontae Johnson on waivers today from the Texans, per the league’s wire. This a procedural move and Johnson won’t officially be “awarded” to the Ravens until after the Super Bowl. But he qualifies as an unrestricted free agent this offseason and, if he signs with another team, he factors into Baltimore’s compensatory pick formula, potentially helping it obtain an additional draft pick in 2026.

His old team Baltimore claimed him again. I saw clips of him getting open in the game vs chargers. I don’t think anyone is above team rules but a guy like that would have been helpful against the chiefs. Opening the field with nico would be easierB*tching and complaining because of lack of targets after a big team win to advance in the playoffs is what got him waived. He could’ve grown up, acted like a professional, and understood that chemistry takes time. A good postseason with the Texans could’ve helped him in FA, but now he’ll be lucky to find a team that wants to put up with his drama.
This likely has more to do with Flowers being more injured than the Ravens are letting on.Brilliant move by Baltimore.
Got a free draft pick off him.
