Texans vs Chargers AAR

I am so proud of this team.
Right. And what I'm most proud of is the pride they showed in themselves. No one comments on this pregame stuff. But they saw that nobody was picking them to win. That the Chargers had a bye (more like a bye bye). Then the game didn't start out well. They could have mailed it in, proven their critics were right. Nah, let's just beat the crap out of these guys in puke yellow and baby blue and party in the locker room instead. Hey, Jimmy! This ain't the Big 10.

The Texans became the fifth team to record four interceptions, an interception return for a touchdown and four sacks in a playoff game since sacks were first tracked in 1963, according to ESPN Research.

The last three teams to accomplish that feat in the playoffs were the 2002 Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 2000 Baltimore Ravens and 1989 San Francisco 49ers, who all went on to win the Super Bowl.

Finally watched the 2nd half. Great game by the Texans. Kind of glad we struggled in the 1st qtr. Hopefully that gives them confidence if that happens against kc. Pray the bills win. I rather face kc than Baltimore and let the bills and ravens beat the crap out of each other. Idk what to expect next game. Are the refs going rig the game for the chiefs like they’ve done all season? Let the guys rest up. We’re going need everyone on defense to beat the Kansas City refs

I can’t wait for someone like Seth Payne to put out an all 22 video on the Texans front 7 this week. The preseason starting front 7 played their first game together and it was glorious!

We had been thinking that you couldn’t find a better front 7 all offseason and seeing them out there yesterday… you’d be hard-pressed to find a more dominating front.

With Pitre/Ward out i’m glad they went more 4-3 and had To’o To’o out there. With Harris/Azeez’s sideline to sideline range they are able to matchup with a physical offense like the Chargers while still not allowing holes in coverage. They made a Greg Roman offense one dimensional by punching the bully in the face.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, he stunted to the inside and was just too quick for anyone to meet him
It was a different play, he lined up as a wide 9 and literally nobody on the Chargers line blocked (or looked) at him. I was afraid he was going to light up Herbert and draw a flag, but he tackled him properly.

There is not a universe or parallel universe that exists where Metchie should have the same or more targets than Nico. Even though Metchie still had as many targets (8) as Nico. I was glad that they stopped trying to force the ball to him.

It was nice to see Slowik incorporate the quick passing game to not only get the ball out of Stroud's hands and give the OL less time to block but to also get him in rhythm. I would still like to see Johnson getting more targets but overall, a good game plan by Slowik.

It's the playoffs, I get it. Every play counts. But Metchie is sooooo close & I think the Texans see that. This was his opportunity to land that spot.

He didn't. I doubt he'll have as many snaps next week. But next season he'll be an excellent depth piece with an opportunity to make a name.

Hopefully not, I'm hoping they bring back Dionte and draft either Harris or Savion Williams. If they dont do this then I hope they sign Bo Melton in FA. Mtchie/Hutch/Woods are basically the same guy. This is why they brought in Dionte, he's a different kind of WR than the other guys listed. Dionte can separate, the others not so much.

They better start incorporating Dionte in the next game if they want to win. They can’t go back to Metchie again and expect different results.

I'm thinking Dionte takes Diggs' place. Metchie will be the new Woods & your rookie(s) take Hutch & Metcies old place.

Depends on how good a guy like Harris is, I'm thinking he's close to this yrs BTJ and if that's the case then he will be WR2 and Dionte will be WR3. The other guys will be Jags.

After reading the KC Swifties board I hope the players and coaches are as overly confident as they are.

I get it, if Mahomes is upright the game ain't over.

Thats why I hope our defense hurts him and hurts him some more. (Hurt him, not cause injury) Difference being, make him not want to get up.... not render him incapable of it.

It seems some believe that we are afraid of playing KC. IF there is any team I truly "fear" us playing from the AFC its the Ravens.

This KC Swifts team has to be the least intimidating two loss team in history.

That's not to say I believe we win... going into Swiftie territory and walking away with a win won't be easy.

But man would it feel good to know it was a long drive home for KC fans after a loss they never saw coming.
