Game 7: The Greenbay Packers.....No Joke!

JamTex

Hall Of Fame Texans Fan!
Coming up.
The Packers!
This game is no joke.
Jordan Love is a good quarterback.
The Packers have a top running game.
Our Texans go into this game with a wounded defense.
Lassiter possibly out. To'oto'o possibly out. Ward possibly out. Al-shaair possibly out. Edwards suspended. The only good point is that Autry will be back.
Who will step up on defense?
The defensive line should still be good. The line backers and secondary are where the questions will be against a potent running attack.
The offense will be without Collins but having Mixon and Pierce back should cover that loss.
Diggs and Dell are still a formidable receiver combo but Schultz needs to catch the ball.
This will be a close one on the road.
This game could go either way.
Let's see how the defense holds up.
Should the defense put up a respectable performance against Love and that running game, Stroud should take care of the rest.
Texans 27 Packers 23 in a tough game on the road.

Haven't had a chance to really look into the Packers. But my gut says the Texans should give the Pack some of their own medicine pounding the run game, then go over the top with PA. Might be the time to show some different looks on defense. Playing with an early lead would really help. The key will be to make the Pack offense one dimensional so the d-line can tee off on Love. Of course, easier said than done.

This is 1 of the games I was eyeing to go to b/c of Lambeau field and that history and atmosphere.

In seeing how the season has played out, this will be the Texans’ 1st road test in a fan atmosphere eerily similar to what they faced in Minny with all the noise. We held it together in Foxboro with the penalties. This game will be the test to see if our penalty woes are truly behind us. 2nd straight game with Pierce and Mixon back, it will also be a good test to see if our run game has stabilized too.

Jordan Love has a tendency to throw to the other team; he has thrown an int in every game this year….i need us to keep that streak going.

Offensively, CJ and the pass game will be solid as usual, but I want to see us get the run established early. They have to know with Mixon back, we’re more committed to the run game than we’ve been in some of our previous games.
I believe we should be able to do that as the packers defense isn’t anything special. Keep an eye out for the Alexander/Diggs matchups..those 2 don’t really like each other and have history.

With the LB corps and secondary banged up, this game is gonna come down to our d-line for us to win it. The Packers go 3 deep at WR and imo they can all make big plays; not 1 of them stands out as the guy tho. Gonna be another game where Pitre is chasing his WR thru all different types of pics and traffic. That’s what LaFluer likes to do.

I see us putting up about 24-27 pts. Will it be enough for us to win it? I don’t know. When Love is on, he can light it up.

I watched the packers cardinals game and Green Bay had a smothering run defense and lots of pressure in the first half, second half it opened up for the cardinals.

Love had all day to throw and picked them clean!

Cardinals are a joke. They’re right up there with the Jags. James Conner has never been a good RB.

The Packers will have a lot of whine to go with their cheese heads when they get curb stomped as they cry tears of shredded cheddar and the streets run yellowish-orange with their blood of queso dip when the Texans rip victory from their powerless hands of gouda.

This is me being a positive Pauline....

Establishing the run, defending the run, and stopping the big chunk play (wide open middle of the field zone crap). Also no dumb penalties on the road. If we can do these things we will win.

Worried about LB and secondary. Goes without saying. Not having Nico will hurt on O, but think we have enough other guys to not make it the reason we lose.

Running game? Eh...Texans won't get those huge runs on this D...I don't think. Gotta run the rock better on an every down basis and keep Love off the field.

The Pack D has been really good at turning the ball over. That's a big key for me. Play clean on O with few (if any) presnap penalties, don't turn it over and we've got a real shot. If we get very sloppy with penalties and turnovers...it could get ugly like Minny.

Considering the depth/injury issues, I'll go Packers 30 Texans 23, but hoping for a big win.

The good news is the day looks to be spectacular. Clear and sunny. Low Sun morning of about 50, and the high in the low to mid 70's. Weather will not play any role whatsoever in the outcome. Should be ideal Oct. weather, probably warmer than normal for mid-oct in Wisconsin. We dodged a bullet. Could be playing them in late Dec on the frozen tundra.

Green Bay's offense is really good, so our DL will need to bring their A+ game to establish dominance. Like many, I'm concerned about the back end of our defense keeping up. On offense, I hope Slowick calls plays that help us find a rhythm and adapts quickly if things don’t go as planned...and please please dump those end-around plays!

He also has a knack for throwing TDs. He's thrown 4 across two straight weeks and had a pristine TD:INT ratio at the end of last year

I went once a few years back for the reasons in bold among others. Worst game day experience in a NFL stadium that I have ever had. The "magic" of Lambeau field, history, etc. wasn't anything special, I have been in better CFB stadiums. The fans behind us made the game experience horrible, they called Security on me for standing up and not sitting in my seat, after this I found out one of them put their hands on one of my friends. I was the victim and Security (young kid) treated me like the guilty party. They don't even stand up for their own team. They are too busy huddled up under the blankets and harassing opposing fans. 0/10, would not recommend, and you couldn't pay me to go to another game there.

Texans are banged up but they still have enough talent to win this game. Packers defense has had a knack for making big plays. Lets see what happens when they face a team who is good at taking care of the football?

If the Texans play turnover free football they can win this game. If they turn the ball over and give the Packers a short field, the undermanned defense will get lit up by Love and company.

Win the turnover battle, don’t commit all those awful penalties and this game can be won!

Do the opposite and you get another Vikings beatdown.

I'm not thinking we will see a good result in this game. Our defense has the knack for just allowing receivers to run free for big gains. Doesn't happen often, but does seem to happen a handful of times in every game. Is it our linebackers? Is it our defensive back end? Is it playcalling? I'm not convinced Drake Maye is all that good, but he got three TDs and a handful of big gains on us last Sunday. We have a stout rush when it clicks, but everything past the rush seems suspect to me. Now sprinkle in all these injuries....going to be a tough game.

That is a very comparable stat sheet between Stroud and Maye. We all know Stroud is amazing, but stroud also has great weapons all around, whereas Maye does not. Maye should not have done this well, and this points to a suspect Texans defense.

Same exact way I feel about Cleveland. Just miserable, rotten people.

Packers lead the league in takeaways I believe. Gonna take a clean game to keep it away from them!

I’m hearing GB’s down to there 4th and 5th linebackers, and a secondary that is banged up also down a starting cb and safety.

Packers have one of the best stadiums appearance wise imo. Jordan Loves a good qb. His top weapon reed got injured last game. He’s my biggest worry. Game will be two mvp candidates competing against each other

I don’t think we lose this one despite having key injuries on defense. Pressure will be on the offense to perform. Probably a shoot out game. I trust Cj more than any qb in the league. Best qb on 3rd down and against the blitz, 5th in td passes along with Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson.

This and I I'm worried about Tucker Kraft having a big day. I remember wanting Caserio to draft him. He's a weapon with the ball in his hands.

Yikes! Good to know thanks.

That was last year. This year they haven’t really played any team with a good defense/offense/QB except Minny & they got him 3 times. That somewhat explains a lot about them right there..especially the TO’s they’ve been getting. All I’m saying is he and they very much vulnerable.

I hope he’s going to be another Rodgers but we will see.

You do know after he got 2 out of the way, he ended up going 4 for 1 right? You do also know that he was up against a top defense, a divisional rival, and the game straight after coming back from injury right? You do know he darn near led them back to a win except for a drop by Wicks right?

Almosts still count as loss buddy. And the numbers are what they are. 3 ints is not a great game for a qb. And As a guy that probably is a top 5-8 qb, you shouldn’t need to “get 2 out of the way” before you settle in.

Minny is a division rival & the packers are expected to play them better and closer than we did…plus they got to play that top defense at home, we had to go into Minny.

I would hope he could light it up against a bunch of Bad defenses with guys like Jalen Hurts,

He'll be a cross between Favre and Rodgers. Don't let people who barely watch the guy talk negatively about him.
Cmon dude. How do u know he’s barely watched? B/c we’re saying he has flaws and vulnerabilities like every other qb in the league😂?

Last week the guy threw a moonshot TD pass off his back foot where he was bailed out by his WR. You can get away with that stuff against the Jax and Ariz of the world..he was also barely if at all pressured last week. Lots of guys could sit back and have the day he had last week. We heard a lot of the same stuff about the “MVP front runner” Josh Allen 2 weeks ago too. He hadnt tossed any ints coming into the game against us and although we didn’t get him, it really didn’t matter as he went 9/30 & was constantly under pressure.

I’m not saying he sucks all I’m saying is he can be got.

This is going to be a tough game. Thankfully, it's a non-conference game at a time where the injury bug is biting hard. I hope the Texans continue to keep the penalties down and they perform better than they did against the Vikings. The NFC North is no joke. Hoping the Texans can go 3-1 against them. The Lions are even better that the Vikings. Never thought I'd ever type that.

Going to be a tough one for sure. I’m worried about the crowd noise. Those Cheese Heads will be extremely loud. The last time we played against a team whose crowd was that loud, we got our ashes stumped. That game was against the Vikings. That noise caused several false starts and quite a few were back to back in the same series.

We also need to get Mixon going because the Packers offense is solid.

I also saw somewhere showing Love is number one at getting the ball out and making defenses pay when they bring the pressure.
Therefore, we need to hit home with our front four/five.

We play solid in all three phrases, this game is winnable.

Let’s go Texans

I hope there practicing with simulated crowd noise in anticipation of a loud lambo field. I’m not sure if they made it a point of emphasis because we played the jaguars at home the following week. Demeco and slowik should have them ready to play.

Those who are worried about Lambeau being loud… stop it. It’s an open air stadium. They’ve got nothing on us.

Plus… I’ve been there… in December (the 2016 game). It’s full of nothing but old people hunkered down in blankets. They’re too cold to yell.

It’s not going to be cold like that this Sunday. And yes they can get loud down there. You just went during the wrong time.

Fair enough. It’s gonna be nice on Sunday. I was getting at the “huddled in “ as of them being old people. They were probably the oldest group of fans that I have ever seen in a stadium. Their season ticket holders are literally grandpa’s and grandma’s.

-Every- stadium “can” get loud but I have been in several different stadiums. None of them come close to domed ones when it comes to noise. I am a Deaf person, ya know? If we know when the stadium isn’t rocking. Domed ones vibrate like crazy.
