Ehh, no one was saying that when they were 0-2. Tonite is the 1st game they’ve looked like the team to beat in the AFC.

Just goes to show u how much the outlook of a teams’ future can change once everyone gets on the same page. That’s why I’m not too worried about the Texans right now. How a team looks right now doesn’t matter as much. Just string together wins and adjust as best you can throughout the season.

It would be one thing if we had no clue on what this team needs to do to get better…or if we just flat out lacked the personnel to do it. But we do. Get the penalties under control, & this team looks light years better. That’s the main thing they need to do & concentrate on.

For the season, I see the Chiefs called for 21 penalties for 190 yards. Their opponents have 30 penalties for 238 yards. An advantage, but not a huge advantage that would explain away the Chiefs wins.

1 call and 1 non-call in back to back games significantly increased KC chances of winning those 2 games. PI call against the Bengals in week 2 and an obvious PI non-call against KC in week 3 vs the Falcons.

I know those plays you are referring to. The PI call in the Bengals game was the correct call. In the Falcon game, that should have been called PI. So, one crew got it right and one got it wrong. Par for the course for officiating crews these days.

I would appreciate it if you would cease & desist from this line of action. It is a lot easier for me to get through my day, alcohol or not, believing the NFL is cheating for the Chiefs than to believe Kermit the frog is actually good at football.

Agree, not a big enough difference. But you know that Mahomes leads the league (last two years) in INTs (17 or 18 I think) that were not INTs because of a defensive penalty. And I know that can skewed because of Hail Marys and the like, but more often than not I bet those calls had a big impact on the game

And in 3 SB’s Chiefs offensive line has been flagged for holding ONE time.

That alone makes a football fan go “hmmmm?”

I'm not saying there's an organized pro-Chiefs conspiracy among the refs. I just think they all like Mahomes, like Andy Reid, and when the time comes to make a call, they tend to err on the side of the Chiefs. I mentioned those 2 instances because they were so obvious. Same infraction, called differently in back to back games, and it just so happens, benefited the Chiefs both times. Far from being the only 2 calls that go their way at a key moment.

I know there have been controversial calls that have gone the Chiefs way. Super Bowl LVII came down to a 3rd & 8 play where the Eagles were called for a defensive holding. The Chiefs were able to run down the clock, kick the FG, and the Eagles lost. But..it was a hold. Right in front of the side judge. If the refs don't call that, the narrative is that they're biased against the Chiefs.

Same with a play late in the AFC Championship game. Tie game and Mahomes is scrambling to the side for a 1st down. And a Bengal hits Mahomes out of bounds and gets the flag. The 15 yards makes the FG attempt very makeable, and the Chiefs move on. It was a late shove. He didn't have to do it. But he did and it made it easier for the Chiefs.

My take is, stop helping the Chiefs. These aren't phantom calls. Everyone saw them. Want to beat the Chiefs? Make them beat you and don't beat yourself.
 
Dolphins make their own huge mistake as Tyreek drops a backward pass and then doesn't go after it. Titans ball!

When I was stationed in Michigan, I became really good friends with this guy who was born and raised in Detroit and was a lifelong Lions fan. I realized we had the same exact fan experience so the Lions have become my adoptive NFC team, it's really refreshing seeing a talented Lions team. You had the Sanders teams and now this team and that's about it.

I still have the trump card though.. He was a huge Andre Johnson fan when he was coming out and wanted no parts of Charles Rodgers (Michigan/Michigan State hate) So anytime I need to knock him down I simply bring that up. 😆

We started the same way last year, predictable running downs, keeping to the script, but last year when that failed they let CJ loose. Hopefully they are having those discussions now.. because the CJ I saw on the last drive is the CJ I saw last year on those huge comebacks. (Which reminds me I need to update his one score win/loss record) We shouldn't put him in those situations, a lot of these games should already be in hand, but at least we know in a one score game, Stroud has ice in his veins.
 
Big run by Pollard, gets them to the 5ish yard line. Wildcat, sort of. Spears walks in for a TD.
