9-7 with the Texans getting the ball first in the second half. Texans get through an ugly half with the lead…..really can’t ask for more than that. Certainly wouldn’t have been like this in the past.

Agreed. Texans were the underdogs coming into this game and have the lead while also getting the ball to start the half. Things could be much much worse.

Their secondary is respectable. Just need to find a way to throw them off balance, which is the strength of this WCO scheme.
Most teams can stop the run if they load the box. Just need to start making them pay for it.

K-Man didn’t kick 70+ YD FG’s….the offense did put him in a position to have some easy shots. Biggest point, K-Man getting the job done.
This what the NFL looks like. The Texans have been on the right side of a couple of big wins the past two weeks. But most games look like this.

I don’t see it. One thing that I’m experiencing is the slow realization that whatever bad can happen won’t necessarily happen. Old habits die hard but I’m getting there. The drop by Woods was frustrating and the DL jumping like that is always maddening but it’s just halftime. They come out and drive for a TD and the “Sky’s the limit” future is back on track.

My take on how that half played out is that ATL reached deep into their bag of tricks to keep our D off balance early which made their O look better than it was, DeMeco quietly got a handle on it and began to shut them down as the half wore on.
On O it stumbled a little but the scoreboard shows that we did enough to consistently get into FG range. I’d say the game clock defended the TD at the end of the half there because I trust Stroud to get the 6 in that situation with 4 downs and goal to go.
Lots of room for improvement on O in the second half, and we’ve seen a few times that lesser teams have been able to come out and run on us to start the second half too, so we need to be wary of that because Bijan is better than anyone we’ve faced yet this season.

Beginning of season I thought the recipe for success was running the ball and keep Stroud at 30 pass attempts.
Now it’s keep Stroud throwing and only run when you want to take a break from having a productive offense…
