Pick #230 of the 2023 NFL draft was the most traded pick of the draft.

It was traded 5 times and owned by 5 different teams. The Texans owned the pick twice.

Ultimately the Bills had the pick and turned it in to select offensive lineman Nick Broeker.

Nick was then cut when rosters were getting trimmed down to 53 and the Texans claimed him off waivers.

Maybe it was meant to be? The Texans and him seem fated to be together.

But the afternoon show just doesn't do it for me. I know Stoerner played in the NFL so maybe I should respect his opinions more than I do but I've generally really not agreed with their opinions and don't find them particularly entertaining.

I took that channel off my hotbutton cause I hate them so much.

Stoerner's takes are stupid.

I wish they would send Stoerner back to Dallas and that other clown .... anywhere but here.

Wish they would've built the team out then added their QB.

On another note the stadium experience must be wonderful with Texans fans fighting each other.

Quitoriano made a nice YAC play in the Ravens game but has been horrible otherwise. The guy cannot block. I believe he got CJ sacked one play and I noticed two running plays where his missed block blew up the play. Run blocking across the board has been pretty miserable

The TE has gotta be able to set the edge in a WCO. The Texans dont currently have a TE that can do this consistently.

Why spend all that money on tickets, food and beer just to go to jail. You can do it much cheaper elsewhere. You better believe it NRG is going to find those people.

This is the crowd they've started marketing too.

It is what it is and it's one reason I chose not to renew.

The only numbers I care about (other than Scorigami) is...
Texans 0-2
Browns 1-0 with the Steelers on their schedule tonight.

The ONLY stat that matters at the end of the day is found in the W/L column. This year for the Texans, that column could have significant ramifications for the 2024 draft. I hate the thought of Watson shoving it in our noses again. The Texans better get their **** together or we'll be smelling it for at least another year.

Watson **** the bed against the Steelers on MNF. 3 turnovers and a completion % in the 50s. So the Browns are 1-1.
 
Am I going to the be the first to say what everyone is thinking? Ok. I will say it:

That was a horrific injury to Chubb. Potentially career ending. I hope it isn’t as bad as it looks and we never want to see a player injured.

But - with Chubb out and Watson playing like he was playing I see us having a really good chance at having the 1st to 3rd pick from the Browns in next years draft.

I disagree that the win/ loss is the only stat that is important.

I've stated my POV often that the sport is why I watch. Certainly, play to win but slop with a W isn't for me. Texans, i watched last 3 seasons wanting to see improvement. No one here thinks Texans going deep in POs and we look for improvements or lack of such.

One way that's measured is statistics as you know. If W/L was all that mattered, why watch?

Stroud dropped back more than 50 times for the second straight week and produced mixed results. He looked solid from a clean pocket but folded under pressure again. Stroud is currently ranked 12th in the NFL with a 79.3 clean-pocket passing grade. His 31.0 passing grade under pressure ranks second worst, though. Stroud will have to improve under duress and take care of the football as the season wears on.
 
Here are some stats comparing Stroud with Richardson, taken from ESPN:

Richardson...6/10 passing...56 yds...5.6 avg....0 td....0 int...long 15yds...QBR 91.4

Stroud...30/47 passing...384 yds...8.2 avg...2 td...0 int...long 32yds...QBR 49.1

Notice the difference in QBR, then note that Stroud's stats are superior to Richardson's.

Just seems a bit weird that a qb's rushing stats carry more emphasis than his passing stats.

And I'll mention, Stroud's 6 sacks likely had a negative impact on the rating.

But still, that's a huge difference in the two ratings. A pocket passer seemingly will be at a disadvantage to a mobile qb.

Look at Derrick's QBR rating last night as an example of why the QBR is a joke.

Those QBRs on Pro Football Reference are not correct.

Watson has a 29.3 QBR for the season and CJ has a 35.9 QBR.

small sample size. don't go by your lying eyes. nothing's wrong.
 
After three seasons Stroud, WA, Scruggs , and Tank as well as Stingley, Tunsil, Howard, Pierce and Pitre could be asking for high dollar extensions.

Texans need to draft more poorly because it sucks to accumulate good players. Why even try to get better. It just means one worry after another. Let’s all get together behind Eric Murray, Josh Jones and others like them and really enjoy football again.
