True, but I'm not in the I told you so crowd. I'm in the it's sad that the McNair's are repeating history crowd. Apparently it's a crowd of one around these parts. I guess that's to be expected when you're not on board with everything the McNair's do.

I don't take this nonsense into account. Because it's utter nonsense. Just like I don't take the race of someone into account. Or their religion. Or sexual orientation. Or anything else that is extraneous to football. Here are some legitimate concerns for QB prospects:

Can't make all of the passes required in an NFL offense.
Doesn't read defenses in a timely manner.
Can't make off schedule plays.
Doesn't stand and deliver in the pocket in the face of a pass rush.
Lack of leadership.
Things related to playing QB.

Childhood background is not among those things I've listed as legitimate concerns. Nor should it be.

Forgiveness and using a high draft choice are two separate things. Carter should have his shot. I just wouldn't risk that kind of draft capital on a player that never owned up to his part of the tragedy and never asked for forgiveness.

Bet on the talent, you have to be able to not only forgive, but be fairly certain Carter has learned a valuable life lesson. There's a reason the Eagles and Chiefs played in the SB. They bet on talent 1st and foremost. Until the McNair's start letting Caserio/Ryans do this then the AFCCG will still be a goal. The 49ers also take shots on guys like this.

Otherwise this list is spot on and the stuff you listed in the last paragraph doesn't matter because regardless of talent the 1st stuff you listed is far more important to success. IMHO

The only "Georgia guy" with character issues is Jalen Carter. And he's yet to play a down for the team.

The reasons for the Niners success are taking chances on replacement level players like Givens & Omenihu? Sure.

Hill, Clark, and Peters are out of KC. Not sure getting a positive marijuana test as a 19 year old should put Kelce in the same classification as Jalen Carter.
