CJ Stroud year 2

What's the difference? You're certainly not sitting back and quietly watching the implosion to be. You're shouting (pissing) in the wind about how terrible they are.
Wrong I've learned over the years to LoL at their incompetence. Problem is it's not about incompetence it's about making money and I've been saying this since 2010. Nothing has changed.

MVP that’s about to be put on ignore. Great job buddy. Hang in there all these years and dump on DeMeco party. Un-******* ridiculous pulpit of fiction.
You feel the same way about the Chargers that I feel about the Texans. The only championship they're going to win is a marketing championship. Kinda like your Chargers. You've really changed your tune. Do what you gotta do buddy. I'm gonna miss you.

There's a difference between hanging with the crowd he was as a purported family man in a different state and you taking in a baseball game and you know this.

Was Burrow there. I know he was wise enough to hire an agent that didn't have him doing this crap before he took his 1st NFL snap or worse before he signed his 1st NFL contract. Like I said before we've been through this before and I've learned to laugh at the people who are unable to learn from past experiences down on Kirby.

Serious question. As fans of the Houston Texans, what are we supposed to do with the bolded statements? Are we supposed to give up watching an rooting for this team? Are we supposed to picket outside the stadium? Write letters to Cal? Maybe letters to Hannah would be more appropriate?
I just want to know what your reasoning is for sharing your non-popular perspective of this team and the folks "Down on Kirby". You claim to have learned your lesson and will not spend another dime on this team. I understand that, I really do. I don't spend my money on them either. However, you realize yours is an unpopular opinion but choose to cram that opinion down our collective throats, rather than just sit quietly back and watch it all unfold. I have to believe this is all for a "I told you so moment" and for no other reason.

So, I ask you again, what is the agenda? Are we to abandon all hope and stop supporting this team? And don't tell me you like to talk football because these are not discussions, they are arguments, and every thread gets pulled off topic because you don't like something about this team.

What is your end goal? Because so far I equate all your rants to be a lot like the early Prius owners shunning everyone else for driving gasoline powered cars. It comes off as very conceited.

EDIT: I am adding this edit to say, that I in no way want to censor your posting. Thats not my intent. Plus you have been here much longer than I have and there are other people who enjoy discussions with you. From what I have seen you also are very knowledgeable of the game and have good takes. My question above, however, is valid. We (all of us on this board) know how you feel about Stroud, about the McNairs, about Mulugheta, and all the folks "Down on Kirby". We know! We just don't agree. Can we please just move the discussion along back to tangible football discussions and not your "dislike of the man on and off the field"?

And Joe Burrow signed his rookie contract last week of July.

Wow, what a long post.

As a fan I will root for them including Stroud. Don't quit rooting for them and don't take this entertainment so seriously. Learning to laugh at the clusterfvck, marketing machine down on Kirby is how I've learned to roll with the McNair's. I kind miss the good old days when BOB, Cal used to dress and talk like Jackie Gleason and his son from Smokey and the Bandit. Real entertainment, just don't expect a successful org that's a marketing org with a football division and you won't be disappointed. Telling what I believe is the truth is my opinion, I'm certainly not trying to shove anything down anybody's throat. As far as talking football goes apparently you missed the thread this week when JB asked me to talk about football and we did. We talked about what we think are the strengths and weaknesses of the team. That thread got derailed by Dejaview talking badly to JB. So I'm sorry if it hurts your feelings when I say things like that Texans are being run by an 86 yr old woman and her marketing guru, gold digging daughter in law. Unfortunately that's just the cold hard truth. Some can handle the truth some cant. I don't have an agenda and therefore I don't have an end game. What gets me is that posters on this MB would rather me just move a long if I'm not buying the company line and drinking the Kool aid. Maybe I'm just trying to point things out so that others won't be suckered into spending well over six figures on a marketing org with a football division that winning is about the 3rd or 4th most important thing to ownership. This really is a cautionary tale . Enjoy the org for what it is and don't be disappointed when the on field product fails. Why? Because if you care about the on field product, you're caring way more than ownership cares.

Hopefully this answers your questions. If you have anymore questions I'll be glad to answer them. Truthfully I'm here for the draft stuff as much as I am this franchise these days. It hasn't always been this way, but I started heading down this train of thought back in 2010 and have lowered my expectations to the level of rubbernecking a car wreck.

PM me if you want to further discuss this.

What did I say to JB? Be specific. How did I derail your diatribe? I pointed out that you would revert to your bs and your football talk “moment“ was bs. Want to discuss it?

Was he hob knobbing with celebs before signing his deal? How many picks were unsigned in that draft when Burrow signed?

Is this you?

Because you are moving the goal posts. You said Burrow wasn’t there because of his agent and Burrow wouldn’t associate with those people. Which he did. On both counts. Burrows agent = DM. And Burrow didn’t sign until last week of July.

No excuses.

Wait, your in business for yourself…..are you marking your services up just enough to break even? Or, are your prices (mark-up) based on what the market bears? There’s a big difference in living life as a broke arse Robin Hood versus someone being able to live in an above average home, drive nice cars, afford season tickets for local professional teams, professional team merchandise, etc.

If the McNair’s bought an NFL franchise to go broke….then they’re idiots. Going broke with an NFL franchise would be pretty dang hard to do. The McNair’s have made a lot of money owning the Texans and along the way, they’ve meddled far too much in something they truly knew nothing about…..but IMHO that ended this season when Caserio got Ryans to sign on the dotted line. There’s something different going on down on Kirby and it’s slowly making its way down to the fans.

I didn't receive public money to build a stadium to startup my business.

They're still meddling if you believe what Cnd/Corrosion and what I've heard myself. You can choose to believe this or not.

No moving the goalposts, comparing what Stroud is doing at the time he's doing it and what Burrow is doing now compared to before he signed his first contract is moving the goalposts.

ever consider this says volumes about you but not CJ?
Yes, it does, I believe God, work and family comes 1st. Of course my dad wasn't in prison so he was around to teach me these things. So maybe I should give Stroud a break.

Go back and look at the posts. That's what the search feature is for

I’ve already got him there until the season starts. This forum is unreadable right now with all the threads being hijacked by his obsession with Stroud.

Hopefully when actual football is getting played he can get off his strange obsession and talk about football again.

Thing is, imo, those threads are being less hijacked by comments from any one person as much as they are by the endless supply of futile responses to those same comments. Without the responses those comments would just be one and done drive by posts that are easily skimmed past.

Every poster here has as much right to voice their opinion on whatever topic they'd like, within forum rules of course. Whether those opinions are unpopular, delusional, mean-spirited, or whatever other descriptor you'd like, again within forum rules of course.

And again, with just a little good sense and some will power the bite from some of the most disagreeable posts could be completely taken away from those posts if they were just left to rot on their own. But alas every other poster here thinks they're going to be the one to make sense of nonsense or change the view of the most entrenched viewpoints, and so this is where we are. Watching the same arguments on an endless loop, heads banging into walls continuously, and complaining about how bad it is - when it doesn't have to be that way.

It’s still off-season follies guys. There’s not much out there to discuss. I’ve mostly been tuned out the last few weeks but pop in here or there and yes it’s a lot of complaining and repetitive stuff but it will change pretty soon once camps crank up. Everyone is different which I appreciate. It would be boring if we were monolithic. If you cannot stand to have your opinions challenged, this isn’t the place for you. In short, relax! Life is good, enjoy a long walk under the stars or whatever makes you happy. Peace and love!

Well said.

It's not hard to train your eyes to just skip over things. I do it with every social media site I visit. lol

I would normally never say "be like Bill" on this forum, but we'll make an exception for this message:

You probably really should give him a break, lol. Humans shouldn’t be chastised for their potentially future mistakes. You have got to wait for them to make them, and you know, sometimes you wait forever

I feel attacked.

Back in the day I was the assistant to the assistant store manager at a PayLess shoe store in LA. Hugh Hefner walked in with Barbie Benton. Barbie invited me to the Playboy Mansion 4th of July topless pool party and told me that I could spend the night alone with her in her bed. But I told her no way because I was dedicated to working on my shoe knowledge. That's the dedication we need from CJ!
Uh.. have you considered therapy? 🤔

Wonder if his contract with his agent requires him to be marketed at certain events that he can’t control? Hollywood agents do. Call it a form of NIL money. He’s driving a Bentley and bought Mom her first real home and gave all his teammates $500 gift cards with NIL money. Looks classier than a jet ski and massages. He’s 22 and evolving from a poor childhood. I seem to see a little class. Camp reports tell the same story. Humble, team player, wants to learn and get better every day. I’m not afraid to be wrong but I think he’s going to surprise some people. Not me. If you see a parent fail it Can be a motivator. It was. He loves his dad and reconnected with him in prison while at OSU. That’s mature family IMO. He could have been partying with the sororities instead. I can’t believe there are those out there that can doubt someone when they are possibly just getting started in a direction the Texans need so badly. Blows me away.
Just remember, a former Texan QB started off without a jetski and an instagram honey..

You feel the same way about the Chargers that I feel about the Texans. The only championship they're going to win is a marketing championship. Kinda like your Chargers. You've really changed your tune. Do what you gotta do buddy. I'm gonna miss you.
Maybe you can meet up for couple of beers and talk about me?

The owners may or may not meddle, Stroud may or may not be legit, this or that may or may not be something.

If that meteor that killed the dinosaurs missed the Earth, would dinosaurs be playing football today? Would little humans be the football? What would dinosaur beer have in it?
JJ Watt did look a bit like TRex gobbling up QBs.

Why are they wasting their time with this? They should be training 24/7. :hankpalm:
CJ already a bad influence on the rookies.
:sarcasm:
My sources tell me JC wants to be astronaut after football. That or an analyst for CBS ; whichever pays better.

Tiny Tim! Say hi to Miss Vicky for me.

Excerpts from Sports Illustrated article:

"He handles himself well. He came in the building with these unbelievable leadership skills, and he's killing it," Tunsil said. "He's a straight dawg. He comes in there ready to work, he handles the huddle perfectly and he goes out there and balls, man. You've got to appreciate that, especially in a young quarterback like C.J."
Naming the Texans' starting quarterback for the 2023 campaign might be difficult for Ryans. But Stroud's performance during 11-on-11 and two-minute drills in workouts - plus the faith the locker room seems to have in him - could make the decision easier for the first-year head coach.

Offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik said Stroud is putting in the work while describing his work ethic as "awesome." Texans quarterbacks coach Jerrod Johnson said Stroud is "already way ahead of pace."

To hear what Laremy Tunsil said about CJ it sounds like CJ is doing just fine. CJ was a thing of beauty at Ohio

I'm hoping OHIO STARE is translating Stroud's stats from college to Texans. I'm going to patent OHIO STARE!

Look! There goes CJ giving the defense the OHIO STARE. Another score and the touchdowns keep coming.

I typically swat at annoying mosquitos when they bother me as do most posters here. It's hard to just let them do their mosquito things without getting bothered, but for the well-being of this website, I will do my best from here on out.

Just because I'm not buying what the McNair';s are selling. I felt the same way when they drafted Derrick. What I really dont like is the decision making that went into the Stroud pick.

If you look at the schedule this was his only break time before the grind starts again. Nothing wrong with taking a break and attending a party. Football players have lives too.

Yes they do and he's got every right to do what he wants to do. Cant wait to see if his brand is more important than football.
