Let's see if we as a bunch of Texans fans can get closer to reality than the fancy pundits who seem oblivious to the quality of the off-season Texans FO have navigated.
How many wins will Texans have in 2023 season? This is the poll question.
The discussion can center around the reasons for our optimism or otherwise.
Many of the "experts" think Texans will once again pick at or very near the top of the 2024 draft. From most of the sentiment I have seen in here and talking to other fans that seems to be unreasonably conservative.
Personally I think we will be at 8> - here's why.
The AFC South will once again be a weak division with coaching changes and new QB's so it is likely Texans will once again win 3 games.
Texans have upgraded the coaching staff with an energetic, exciting new HC. This should give us an extra 2 games. Texans will also have an easier schedule again.
Texans added many new vets to the team including some quality guys like Dalton Schultz, Shaq Mason and Devin Singletary. +2
Texans also added some quality rookies at key positions including at QB and Edge. +2
That brings the total to 9, hence my prediction of 8> or 8 to be conservative.
Can you think of more reasons for optimism?
