2023 TEXANS DRAFT DISCUSSION

Guys, Levis will not be available at 1.12. Forget it. If the Texans are going to nab a QB, it has to be with 1.2 or maybe just a slot or two down if they trade the 1.2. If you're gonna take a QB, do it BEFORE you get to 1.12.

I don't think he's more than a top 10-12 QB at best. Will he upgrade the QB position, sure he will. Will he win championships going up against the likes of Mahomes)Allen/Burrow etc... Not likely. The only big game he's played well in was the Georgia game. How long had it been since Ohio State lost to Michigan before Stroud became the starting QB. He has a history of not performing well under pressure both on the field and obviously he didn't perform well in a testing environment. I also think the guy isn't very bright. You know what they say, you are who you hangout with. Look at who he's got representing him and the QB's he considers his idols.
How so when he hasn’t touched an NFL yet. And I would rather have too 10-12 any freaking day of the week verse dead damn last, like we’ve had for the past 3/4 years.

I think all these QBs have flaws, but I agree if they believe they must get a QB then draft Anderson at 2 then try to trade for 3 or 5

FOX's Jay Glazer confirms the Panthers are expected to select Alabama QB Bryce Young at No. 1 overall Thursday evening.
This has been conventional wisdom for weeks, but you always see a few contrarian takes/leaks near draft time. Glazer, whose word is as good as it gets in scoop merchant circles, says it is happening. He also reports the Bears were originally only attempting to trade down to No. 2 with the Texans (with the eventual intention of then moving again to No. 9), and that Houston was set to select Young at No. 1 overall. Instead, the move fell apart, Carolina now has the top selection, and the Texans haven't made their No. 2 intentions known. If/when Young officially goes No. 1, he will somehow become the first top selection in the history of Alabama football.

Feels like if any QB falls it will be Levis. Richardson gives me Jalen Hurts vibes and how would the Colts pass on that after there coaches success with Jalen.

If Indy wants their guy, make them give their 1st, 2nd and third and swap with them, then pick a QB, then get edge like Smith or Van Ness at 12. Get your WR in the 3rd, JSN is not worth the #12, especially in our offense and he will be in the cold tub anyway. Tons of way to play this, would love to hear the phone calls going on, a twitch streamer in a war room would get some serious ##'s

As I watch these recent videos…..I’m still trying to find the long and loopy throwing motion “Lindy” described. I appreciate Lindy but his description would have me questioning whether he actually watched game film.

I saw the same thing on many of his throws... He tended to hop skip forward with an elongated wind up and a long, slow release of the football (specifically on deeper throws).

If that Glazer report is true and we miss out on Young and "that's who we've wanted" and all that, that's *way worse* considering how we didn't end up with #1 than "letting a star QB in Stroud go to the Colts" or whatever.

FWIW I'm not sure how much I believe it.

I like this too. I think it is actually better for Indy to trade with the Texans because once the Texans pick the price for Arizona's pick skyrockets, especially if the Texans want it too. But damn I would want to be AZ right now. Imagine this. Texans take Anderson. Colts trade with AZ, Colts to 3, AZ to 4. Houston still wants a QB, trades to AZ's 4.

So what you're saying is the Hero of the Draft Drama is Lovie Smith.

it's just rehashed reporting that Aaron Wilson was on top of a while ago:

I have a YouTube channel it's free sign in and I'm watching it now
When I clicked on your link it said nfl.com subscribe so I did not go further. On my t v last year I watched 97.5 IIRC youtube with Stoops. He announced pick as it was made. Thanks for info!

I'm not as high on Levis. He's a mid to low 2nd rounder. Granted, all it takes is one to pull the trigger. I get it. But I'd be shocked if the overall general consensus among GM's is that the guy is a top 10 pick. I don't see it. And he's a total asshole. It's usually not a good idea to turn off the hiring manager. Just saying...don't be shocked if he falls to either the back half of the first round or even the 2nd round. I think he's rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.

Uh, oh. Collusion!

:joker:

Titans alleged to be trading up to 3 to take Stroud if the Texans don't draft him.

At least the Titans and Colts getting QBs will help the Texans tank this year.

It would be a massive and expensive trade if they pulled it off too soon….but I’d be fine with the Titans moving up to 3. Colts fully understand what would be happening and could place a call to the Texans for the #2. This move could land the Texans Anderson at 4, take the Titans out of the running for Hooker at 3, give the Texans pick 2-035, and a 2024 RD1. That would be a massive….massive….massive win for the Texans.

Try right clicking on the 'watch on you tube' link and open in incognito window... works for me

Levis IMO is only up there because he has the look and a big arm. He's another Zach Wilson.

And after a solid week of working the phones, it appeared that Poles had made a pair of deals. The Bears were going to flip the first pick to the Texans for a significant haul which included a starting offensive player, and then were then going to send the second pick to the Panthers for another stockpile of help for the entire organization.

The only problem was the Bears didn't have the second pick to send them yet, and Poles was beginning to get tired of waiting on the Texans to push their part of the move across the line. "Wednesday afternoon, we were there," Fitterer said. "That evening, we kept waiting for, basically for Houston to make a decision. Dave's calling me because we're waiting for that to happen. And all day Thursday, nothing. And Thursday night, I call Ryan. He's like pacing at his house. He goes, 'I can't sleep. Now I'm sick to my stomach,' because ultimately, he's going to really rack up picks and stuff.

"And then Friday comes, nothing in the morning. I talk to him at noon. He's frustrated. Talk to him again about 2:30 p.m. He's frustrated. And it's kind of like, OK, what's it take then? Take two out. What if we just want to come to one?"

Fack I just remembered all the annoying tweets and stuff revealing picks before they're announced. Completely kills the fun.

OMG!! Are you one of those? If you don’t want the pick spoiled stay off ******* Twitter. And I don’t get the spoiling pick thing anyway. The whole purpose of this is knowing what the picks are. Who ******* cares if it’s leaked?

:hankpalm:

I just have to call BS on your source. Not that you didn't hear anything but that they actually have credible information.

@CloakNNNdagger sources are rock solid and lead directly to the very top of the organization.

They have stood the test of time. In more than two decades, I can't recall him giving poor information.

It is really bothering Adam that he's got nothing on the Texans currently.
He should follow Doc.
