Welcome Home, DeMeco Ryans

Very cool! Congrats, DeMeco!

Hopefully this is the start of a new era of Houston pro football!

Go Texans! :texflag:
Yes sir I'll second that ! Very cool !!
Now somebody needs to create and produce some Demeco t-shirts.
Would probably be some kind of precedent for an NFL HC to have his own T-shirt, but I think this occasion calls for it.
I haven't bought a new Texans T-shirt for a couple years, haven't wanted to, but now I do and I'd like a new and original T-shirt featuring my favarate member of the Houston Texans organization.

Hasn't been my observation at all. The stadium would regularly sell out and make noise even when the team was not good but was progressing. They only gave up when bad decisions were painfully obvious. Like Kubiak sticking with a damaged Schaub, or O'Brien and his Hoyer/Mallet conundrum, or every FO decision during the past three years. Going back to the 70's, the fanbase and players were poorly treated by Bud Adams. Honestly I can't criticize the fanbase in Houston for anything other than public drunkenness.
Houston fan base is a very "What have you done for me lately?" fan base. 70K people in the stadium is a small percentage of the Millions of people in Houston. I know several seasons when the Texans were technically sold out, but there were a lot of empty seats in the stadium. I also know of several seasons when season ticket holders would give away or sell their seats to other people.

I love this hire. Perfect solution to attempt to fix a dismal franchise.

To think...some here so confidently said he would never come to Houston. People need to learn to speak their opinion and stop stating things as fact. Eat a little crow and let's move forward with a new future.

I'll be the 1st guy to eat crow. I stated this as an opinion, you took my opinion as a fact.

Rarely in the business world do employers rehire employees that have sued them. But this is the McNair's we're talking about.

Shout out to Cal and Hannah. They stumbled and fell, but Cal is learning as he goes. I have faith in him.
Learning what? How to put butts in the seats? That's what the McNair's care about. If Ryans turns out to be a good HC that's a bonus.

Dont get this confused because you like the Ryans hire.

A blind man can see Cal/Hannah are trying. They are more vocal and more active than at any other time. Cal is as introverted as he can be, but seeing him step up and put himself under the spotlight is a good start.

A Texans HC hire that doesn’t have people going WTF? I know it’s cold outside but has hell frozen over?

Hoping for the best for Mr. Ryans. Definitely got his work cut out for him.

Now, for all you lazy bastards, show some respect for the man and type his name right.

DeMeco

So happy we didn't give up #12 and presumably maybe a 3rd this year (basing that on Denver's lower 1st position this year and 2nd next).

We got the better end of this deal by far. Ryans was my target all fall long. I was hoping and praying before the football Gods that Lovie would be canned, and that Demeco would be coming here to lead this team into a new era. The old **** is gone people. This is a time to celebrate! Let's freaking go!
I 100% agree. I've been pissed watching Baby Shanny have so much success in San Fran. I wanted the Texans to make him their HC.
I'm really excited to see what Cap can do with the team as HC. I just hope and pray that this crummy ownership gives him the time and resources to do it.
Any chance JJ is DL coach? 🙏🙏🙏

Something I learned today, from DeMeco leaving San Francsico 49'ers to be Head Coach of the Houston Texans was, being a minority candidate, they will receive compensatory picks end of 3rd 2023 and 2024 NFL Drafts.
Yeah, that rule has been in place for a couple of years. It was an addition to the Rooney rule to incentivize giving minority coaches a shot.

Did they get any for Lovie or Culley? Or were they forfeited because they didn’t last over a year?
