New Mock Draft Has Texans Choosing Will Levis @ #1

Brushing up on the tape watching on Bryce Young tonight, and I was honestly not overly impressed. Not really loving Bryce's overall arm strength as a straight pocket passer. He was inaccurate in the game on several throws, made some nice throws also... I do like the way Bryce can buy time and make plays out of structure, and quick release. But not sure he has the arm to be a high grade true pocket passer. No way that guy is 6'0. I think taking Bryce carries a lot of risk of being 'mid'.

Anybody else digging the idea more of taking a guy like Levis, who doesn't have the resume but has better tools/size overall?

Levis has the tools but his INT’s suggest he may not be reading coverages very well.

Again, the QB there for the taking may be Hendon Hooker. Probably won’t be ready to go in 2023, but a season of development could only help in the long run.

Alabama will be going against #9 Kansas State this morning at 11:00 am central, in the Sugar Bowl. It's on ESPN.

Probably but it’s still a great test. He has the potential to quiet his critics.
He does. I'm just saying to watch his accuracy... is it really him or his receivers bailing him out. Also how does he handle the pressure. He can silence his critics or give them reason to roar

Levis was the first QB I started to study early this season. I really liked him and his skills but he’s let me down this season. Stroud was my next best and I think his consistency this year and his high level play elevated him to my top QB. I’d still take him number 1 overall as long as I have a great offensive staff in place, which I currently don’t.

Will Levis is who his history says he is. 2-year backup transfer QB. Has a moderate amount of passing yards at Kentucky. High INT count 25, < than 2 to 1, should be > than 3 to 1 to be a better QB. #25 in Passing Efficiency. Believe what your eyes are telling you.

But those tools are so tantalizing. Levis is the prototypical boom/bust selection. Red or black.

Who was the best QB taken in the 2014 draft?

Who was the best player?

If you could go back & select one player from the 2014 draft for this team right now, who would you pick?

I said Mahomes at the time.

I'll stick with that pick.
