You don’t know that. Did he specifically told you he wouldn’t?
Keep on dreaming.
Payton is going where he has 2 things,
1. Total control
2. A QB already in place
The Texans can offer him neither of these things.

You don’t know it and I’m not claiming that I do. But man stop spewing crap hoping it stick to the wall. No way in heck they’re bugging any of their players rooms.
Have faith!Sean Payton isn't going to be the Texans next HC.
LMAO
Has nothing to do with dreaming. I’m just saying never say never, because neither one of us know.Keep on dreaming.

Love your optimismHas nothing to with dreaming. I’m just saying never say never, because neither one of us know.
Has nothing to do with that either.Love your optimism
It should, if you really believe this is going to happen.Has nothing to do with that either.

A quick internet search shows that there are AT LEAST 3 people on earth with my first and last name.
Surely the Texans can find A Sean Payton.... pay him an insane amount of money.... only to realize aftrr the comtract signing it is a 74 year old British guy that the closest experience to coaching football is screamimg at his TV while watching the soccer match.
I believe.
Did n't they bring in Esterby after that lb killed himself? I think Romeo was their also.![]()
Without Jack Easterby, Patriots come together to 'keep the faith'
FOXBORO — There’s an office inside Gillette Stadium that once served as a safe space. It was here that players and coaches were able to pour their hearts out, solve problems and try to become better …www.telegram.com
Pioli also claims responsibility. It is probable that he was recommended by both. And yes it was for the Hernandez thing.
The point I was trying to make was he was at the Chiefs with Pioli, while briefly, where there was a bunch of concerns of spying by even regular employees.
In the article a familiar name pops up as trying to help fill the void of Easterby’s departure. None other than our favorite RB Rex Burkhead. Things that make you go “hmmmm…”
From the article:
“The team didn’t make a hire to replace Easterby. That’s why a group of veterans banded together to tackle the challenge for themselves. Led by Slater, players like the McCourty twins, Rex Burkhead, Duron Harmon, David Andrews, Ben Watson and Stephen Gostkowski have divvied up responsibilities to help replace the team’s character coach.”

Wasn't that KC? And because of that he was brought into NE because of HernandezDid n't they bring in Esterby after that lb killed himself? I think Romeo was their also.

I could see him going back to the Saints if they draft a QBIt should, if you really believe this is going to happen.
I'm guessing unless they turn it around Payton will be the next HC of the Chargers. Why? 2 words, Justin Herbert
So who was your choice for GM?I can't believe anyone wants to give him a shot at hiring a 3rd HC .....
How many GM's get to hire a 3rd coach in a decade much less a span of 3 years.
Let's say you get to choose.I can't believe anyone wants to give him a shot at hiring a 3rd HC .....

Let's say you get to choose.
- Nick Casserio hire three HCs in 5 years?
- Cal McNair hire three GMs in 5 years?
People are just talking but we know darn well they’re not hiring a new coach any time soon.I can't believe anyone wants to give him a shot at hiring a 3rd HC .....

Haven't heard of a knock.
I don't remember Callahan getting interviews, either. Something that can work against a Super Bowl assistant is the amount of time lost before the coach can fully commit to his new team. If a team really wants a guy, it won't matter. If it's close between 2 coaches, and one is immediately available, that's a big advantage.I don't recall his name being tossed around last year during all the coaching changes.
This board is unreal. Lovie has only coached 5 games so far. We've been in every game & the closest we've been to getting blown out was the Chargers game & only lost by 10 points, all while installing a completely new offensive system. We're in the middle of a complete rebuild & so many of you act like we should be competing for the Superbowl. I agree with the earlier post that said Lovie will be back for at least one more year. With the success Caserio has had in the draft & the upcoming cap space, they should be able to add some more quality players to take this team to the next level. Unless I'm mistaken, Lovie is the first head coach we've had with prior head coaching experience & some of y'all want to dump him already? WOW!!!
Having said all that & in keeping with the theme of this thread, I can't believe no one has mentioned Mike Tomlin as a potential candidate. The Steelers are struggling now & I've heard some die-hard fans calling for him to be replaced. So, he could be available in the next year or two. And, in spite of what was said in the emails, I'd even entertain the idea of bringing in Gruden (The McNair's wouldn't, but I would).
But, let's give Lovie a chance to build something here before we boot him out the door.
Callahan interviewed for the Broncos job last year & if I recall correctly, he decided to not do any more interviews while the Bengals were in the playoffs, which almost paid off with a Superbowl victory. But like you said, he wasn't immediately available & the teams hired those that were. I suspect he's going to get some serious attention this off season. He's the guy I was hoping the Texans would hire. But, I'm still cool with seeing what Lovie can do first.I don't remember Callahan getting interviews, either. I think Payton ends up in Dallas..What coach do you want them to give up a HC for?
Payton would never coach theTexans, norwould the McNair's be willingto pay for him, both in money and draft capital that it would take to bring him to Kirby.
You think Payton would go where he didn't have full control?I think Payton ends up in Dallas..
His prior head coaching experience is not what got Lovie hired.

NoI think Payton ends up in Dallas..
He’s pretty tight with Jerry, lives close, and has quite a bit of talent to work with…You think Payton would go where he didn't have full control?
I agree. I would be surprised if he doesn't. He and Jerah are pretty tight.I think Payton ends up in Dallas..
As HC?Ok, off the reservation, throw all analytics out the window (not going to find one who is available) who I would like to see, coming into a good situation with young players last year and upcoming 2023 Draft Class -
J.J. Watt
As HC?
Why wouldn't it be? If you solve that, then you have your anserI don’t know why people can’t realize that and think this is someone that Caserio had picked from a list of candidates that wanted to coach here like it was some sort of hit destination that people were fighting over to get here.

He's never been a coach at any level and you want him to be the HC of the Texans?!?Picture it, return of JJ Watt as Head Coach. Know it would never happen, but just imagine![]()
I recently quit a job because of management - it's more common than you think. He's never been a coach at any level and you want him to be the HC of the Texans?!?
Hell, he bailed on us once, not sure I'd want him back. And if you say he wanted a shot at a ring, I call BS. I can think of several destinations way better
than Arizona if you want a shot at a ring.
I would like to have a look at him as DLine coach first.Picture it, return of JJ Watt as Head Coach. Know it would never happen, but just imagine![]()

What don't you like about what he's done? He's had 1 full draft and after 5 games it's much too early to judge that? He was handicapped with the mess OB and Easterby left. You don't think the haul he got for Watson under those circumstances was exceptionally well done?Start by getting rid of Caserio and clean house completely. Even if he doesn’t deserve all the blame, he hasn’t shown great promise, excelled in any fashion or done anything exceptionally well.
Agreed, it felt like he was trying to set up a hollywood career, but dude is so stiff, I don't see it happening. The Texans wanted to bail on Watt’s contract as much or more than Watt wanted out. A mutual decision.
But no, Watt is not ready to be a NFL head coach, or a DC for that matter. And I don’t see coaching in JJ’s future.
He would need to go into pro wrestling firstAgreed, it felt like he was trying to set up a hollywood career, but dude is so stiff, I don't see it happening.
Perhaps he could be like Kane in See No Evil?Agreed, it felt like he was trying to set up a hollywood career, but dude is so stiff, I don't see it happening.
Watt will likely do something in Hollywood. The Texans wanted to bail on Watt’s contract as much or more than Watt wanted out. A mutual decision.
But no, Watt is not ready to be a NFL head coach, or a DC for that matter. And I don’t see coaching in JJ’s future.
TRUE. Texans were in salary cap hell and Watt gave them $17 million in immediate relief. It didn't get them out of cap hell but it let them see the light at the end of the tunnel. The Texans wanted to bail on Watt’s contract as much or more than Watt wanted out. A mutual decision.

I guess you've never seen Arnold's early efforts on the big screen?Agreed, it felt like he was trying to set up a hollywood career, but dude is so stiff, I don't see it happening.
No such thing as salary cap hell. The salary cap is nothing more than a traffic cone.TRUE. Texans were in salary cap hell and Watt gave them $17 million in immediate relief. It didn't get them out of cap hell but it let them see the light at the end of the tunnel.
