Texans are at home yay that's good. They can beat the Chargers just get those various major improvements fixed learn from mistakes take heed players and coaches. Lots of games to go this season. Bring it on!

Chargers are going to have to have a bad day while simultaneously the Texans get their sh!t together. If they can both happen then the Texans have a chance. If not, then the Texans start the season at 0 - 4.

And don't bother correcting me.

Only 2 games behind first place AFC South not the league for a potential divisional playoff. As the season rolls on with 14 games left 6 of them are divisional with one tie.

Chargers are going through something right now. They’re not that “playoff bound” team they were last season. At least not yet.
Awful collapse against Jaguars prompts postgame team meeting
One of several examples on their offense averaging 59 yards per game. Run the ball last in the NFL. They finished with 26 yards in 12 carries against the Jaguars. Their defense are seeing woes of problems too.

Nothing like a game against Houston in Houston to get a team back on track

I recall after playing piano n guitar for over 50 years that any injury to any finger including thumbs will surely make it difficult to play music to the best of my ability. It alters the delicate and strenuous feel and mental challenge to compensate for the natural flow to play. I assume it's the same with a quarterback's throwing hand and many other player's type positions. Injuries suck!

Terrible timing for Texan & Charger fans to enjoy this budding AFC match-up. Both wounded and angry with their lack of execution success.

Chargers hopes and aspirations gone for season, Texans are in process to identify not only a franchise QB but a style of play that is reflection of Lovie Smith.

Would not surprise me, in the least that this rematch will end up in a tie in low scoring affair 17-17. No new revelations or improvements just another day at the office. Mediocre teams, evenly matched trying to survive a season that could have held much more promise.

I feel bad for your Chargers, I really thought they would fight for the West and more but I don't think the Texans ever held much promise this year

Staley just announced SteelbTexan OL 6th rd. rookie Jamaree Salyer (Georgia) will be starting LT for Chargers in place of last years #1 pick Rashawn Slater.
Speaking of the draft, you know me, Texans could have chosen Devin Lloyd out of Utah instead of Greene. Considered by many a top 10 pick, slipped to the Jaguars #27th overall. He’s on track to be all pro as a rookie. Gave Chargers fits. Think he also leds NFL in takeaways/tackles.

Lloyd and Davis were my top choices for the second 1st last year. I really wanted them to take Davis and then trade up and take Lloyd

Funny Staley refused to rep Salyer @ either tackle positions during mini-camp fall camp and pre season. Now he is forced to start him week 4. Not a good look on this coaching staff. I know we all rag on the Texans coaching staff especially OL moves but trust me you are not alone. On one hand they got lucky a player like Salyer was still on the board in the 6th rd. But forced error for not developing him into back-up plan earlier. If he sucks against the Texans in his first starting role, that’s not on him but the head coach.

Mine were Davis//Green.
There was a cluster, Davis, Lloyd, Hamilton, Zion and Greene.

out of those players Lloyd is head and shoulders the best, highest impact player and reason for Jacksonville turnaround, not named their 1st overall picks. Zion is probably next. He nullified Chandler Jones so much in the 2nd half KC moved him to left side where he feasted on Fieler. Davis/Hamilton/Greene are high upside but still developing.

I couldn’t believe Salyer fell to 6th and would love it if he were a Texan. Interested in seeing how he plays in his first NFL start.

Jags got two LBs early in Lloyd and Muma. A strategy I could see the Texans taking next offseason given just how bad their LB play has been. Really hoping Harris comes in and exceeds expectations for this team. They need a good LB.

I still like Davis and Green more.

I liked the Harris pick and hope he can become a reasonable facsimile of Lloyd. I'm thinking more like a Fred Warner type LB.

Lloyd is a 4 down LB. Honestly worthy of top 10 pick if you just watch his film and not distracted by the Combine Beauty Pageant.
I like Lloyd too.

Give me Green and Harris over Lloyd and whoever the Jags picked in the 3rd. Of course I trust Lovie when it comes to him getting guys he likes at the LB position.

Texans offense has 249 rushing yards for the season.

Texans defense is giving up 202 rushing yards per game.

Pitre and Nelson are 1 and 2 respectively for most missed tackles.

Dameon Pierce 4.0 YPC is 3rd worst among the top 25 leading rushers, which Pierce is 16th.

85 players have at least 15 targets. Only 4 of those players have a worse catch rate than Cooks 44.8%.

So all the Texans need is a high first round QB?

Lovie is devising new ways to not lose as we speak. There's the duck duck go play for 3rd downs. That's where Mills takes the snap, sits on the football like a duck laying an egg while the other ducks stand in a circle around him...thus protecting the delicate duck egg... and then they go off the field and sit on the bench.

Guys y'all got this game all wrong. All we need to do is not lose the game. It's really a lot easier than it seems, just ask Lovie. The best not loser of all time from right here in east Texas.

He's managed to lose 2 of 3... I don't think he's all that good at not losing

If there was ever a time for Lovie to blur the line between his 4-3 and Buddy Ryan’s 4-6…..it just might be this week. Chargers come into town with a beat-up OL and QB and may try to run the ball like the Bears did in order to save Herbert’s body from any abuse. That 4-6 would man out the gaps to help stuff the LOS and the blitzes could be enough to get some nice hits and/or sacks on Herbert. Most HC/OC know Lovie’s not a blitzing kind of coach but if Lovie could find it in himself to dial up some strong blitz packages, it could be enough of a surprise to catch the Chargers flat-footed.

I’m going to go out on a limb and predict a Texans win. Chargers are not 100% and the Texans have to get a win with 4 full quarters of play in the worst way. This will be the week.

IIRC DB King blitzed once against Bears and I almost fainted.

Keenan Allen is ruled out again. That is a big win for the Texans defense. Their center Linsley is expected back in the lineup as well as CB JC Jackson. Both don’t seem 100% based on practice participation but that didn’t stop Roquan Smith from wrecking the Texans last week.

Baring any unusual things happening like key people being injured, I'm expecting us to get blown out of the water on Sunday. Take the over 40 points, but unfortunately they will probably all belong to the boltz!

You seem to be a lot more realistic than most, but take the under with Keenan Allen out. Ekeler will certainly improve his current ypc and Kalil Mack may set a new single game sack record

What would it mean if Khalil Mack doesn’t record a sack?
