Agree. He is more like Wes Welker and I would be okay with that. He is a possibility at 3-68. We will see.Not near as fast but he does have a quick suddenness

Agree he is not quite as fast as Tyreek, but his moves are just as devastating. Not near as fast but he does have a quick suddenness
I have noticed over the last couple of years that the Packers organization doesn't care what Rogers wants.Packers in particular are an ideal trade partner with two firsts and seconds with a clear need that is still relatively unadressed by the team. I think (hope) with Rodgers being more vocal with their FO he has shared his thoughts on who he wants (expects) them to acquire…. and that player just so happens to require them to move up to 13![]()
That has changed now. He will be helping them select players from this point going forwardI have noticed over the last couple of years that the Packers organization doesn't care what Rogers wants.
He gets what he is given.
I'm not that versed in RAS. But I'd be somewhat suspect of his translation into the NFL. If you can't get separation, which was evident in college, you better have strength (also for blocking). The 14 reps on bench could be a fluke, but it seems to be inline with his on-field performance. His weight and strength can and will probably increase once in the NFL, but his starting points are very suspect to me. To me, if anything, he is a project.
The good news is, he's a two-sport athlete. Might be why he's on the Texans radar. The bad news is, it's the wrong two sports - football and baseball, not water polo. Sorry Krull, you're out.
Ekwonu can really move, but it looked to me Johnson had his share of wins.
I like Jermaine Johnson more every time I watch him. Would have liked to see more runs at Johnson, though he manned up vs. Icky pretty well. If the Texans stayed at #3 and took Johnson, I would not complain.Ekwonu can really move, but it looked to me Johnson had his share of wins.

This is what I was thinking since the run on WR should be around this slot.I think the "I could absolutely see the #Texans going WR at 13" is a smoke screen put out by the Texans to encourage WR needy teams to call for a trade.
Jahan Dotson is unlikely to make it to #37. John Metchie is an injured slot WR, maybe top of the 4th. And Gray is a vertical receiver, also likely a 4th.
Kyle Hamilton at #13 makes a lot more sense than Kyle Hamilton at #3.
Peter says no important trade talk hqappens until the last few days before the Draft ?From Peter King. Sounds like his sources agree a trade down is more likely at 13 than at 3.

Peter King's Football Morning In America - 12 People In NFL Draft Rooms Compare Notes
Peter King's Football Morning In America column begins with a look at the very mysterious 2022 NFL Draft, through the lens of 12 NFL people in power.profootballtalk.nbcsports.com
POTENTIAL TRADES
Club executive 1: “Teams have gotten really aggressive with trades. I’m starting to hear teams offering to package picks and players to move up—not just picks. So instead of trying to trade up five spots in the first round, maybe this year you’ll see a team offering a one, a three and a player they’re down on a little.”
GM5: “If any team in the top six or eight wants to trade down, they won’t get what the trade chart says they should get. You don’t hear much trade talk till a day or two before the draft anyway—except for teams alerting you to keep them in mind if you’re thinking of moving your pick—but this isn’t the year to get rich on your high picks.”
GM4: “I laugh when I read around this time that the trade market is heating up. Most of the time, nothing really substantial happens till the day before the draft, or day of. There will be trades, but I don’t see many until after 10 [the 10th overall pick].”
Absolutely ! I'd be deleriously happy !I like his spin move - he just went straight round Ekwonu with it.
I did like Ekwonu's pancake on Johnson too!
If we draft both of these guys, which is a possibility, I would be pretty happy.

You know some guys on this Board are now liking Ekwonu > than Neal.
hope not as I have him at our 13Johnson is my # 2 edge rusher with Hutch #1. Thib and Travon have a lot of “projection” to their rating. I wouldn’t be surprised if Johnson goes ahead of them and breaks everyone’s mock draft.
Give me LG- Ekwonu, DT- Davis, and RB- Hall at 3, 13, & 37….and I think the Texans will have kicked off their draft in the right direction.
I’m also thinking DT- Ridgeway (Arkansas) could be an amazing addition up front with Davis. Ridgeway is 6-6 @ 340 lbs with a huge wingspan. Ridgeway is a run stuffer which could be a nice benefit to Davis. Cameron Thomas and Greenard would also benefit from these two monsters in the middle. Get these guys in QB’s faces and suddenly their passes are not zipping like usual…..this where speedy DB’s pay off.
I have to disagree with Payne's take, across the board. Penning is a fantastic athlete for an OT, and plays with a demeanor that many coaches would like. I can see where a Tom Coughlin and Tony Dungy might not have liked Penning's style. Al Davis and Mike Ditka would have loved Penning.

Here's a video of Penning's day in the Senior Bowl "pit". He doesn't win every rep. He doesn't throw every rusher down. What Penning does do is give no quarter. He's coming 100%, 100% of the time. And in a drill that totally favors the rusher, Penning handles his job. Trevor Penning is going in the 1st round and a team will be lucky to have him.
Understandable. But the fact is that Payne never gave a good reason for not dissing Penning as a prospect. I doubt many NFL teams have a problem with Penning's aggression, or we would have heard about it after the Senior Bowl.Seth hates Penning, especially as a first rounder. All due respect, I'll trust a former NFL DLineman over Lucky.
I like Sauce, but I keep looking at his build. He doesn't have a significant injury history, but at ~6'3" and ~190# I certainly worry about his NFL durability. His tackling has also been quite dubious. He seems to have a difficult time bringing his man down. Some analysts are saying, he'll put on significant weight/muscle when he comes to the NFL and that and coaching will improve his tackling. Looking at his build again, he is very small boned which limits one's ability to put on significant weight and muscle............even if possible, while maintaining performance. The pick at #3 for me is between Neal/Sauce/Johnson.
I'm thinking Walker/Hutch will be gone.
Penning was getting dogged by a dude 100lbs lighterI have to disagree with Payne's take, across the board. How big was Cromartie and Sherman? Revis wasn't a good tackler, but he locked dudes down. Nobody expects a corner to be antonio winnfield, just be a solid effort tackler.I like Sauce, but I keep looking at his build. You only have to look back at Kevin Johnson who came into the League at 6'1" and 180#. The same was said of him.........no significant college injury history, his questionable tackling will improve with NFL weight gain. The trainers tried to put some weight/muscle on him with little success. His tackling really never got good. And his injuries piled up very quickly.
The NFL can expose player weaknesses very quickly............weaknesses that can often be masked much easier in college.
Just a tad smaller than Google. How big was Cromartie and Sherman? Just asking
Kevin Johnson was also a injury prone player in college. He thought by throwing his body around it would help tackle people. Again, your primary job is coverage. If you're an elite cover man, nobody expects you to be a great tackler.I like Sauce, but I keep looking at his build. Your top 3 would contribute a lot to running the ball and stopping the run.
Ridgeway however would be a redundant selection. Lovie is not going to select two big huge NTs in his system. Just grabbing Davis is a bit of a pipe dream and only can think of it because Davis moves like a smaller DT.
6’1” - 6’3” 300 range is the profile Lovie looks for in his system. Even Roy Lopez, last year’s starting NT measured 6’1.5” 304 at his pro day.
Wyatt had been arrested for kicking down the door of his girlfriend in 2020. Reportedly, other incidents have come to light. I thought the NFL was supposed to investigate these players prior to inviting them to the combine?Walter Football is reporting that more than one team has taken rising Georgia DT Devonte Wyatt off their board as a result of character concerns stemming from several incidents of domestic violence. Wyatt was reportedly arrested for family violence in February of 2020 which led teams to find three other incidents of domestic violence in his background. Wyatt, who was a key member of the Bulldogs’ 2021 national championship defensive line had a strong combine and has been consistently mocked in the latter part of the opening round. He has also had pre-draft visits with at least a half a dozen teams including Green Bay, Kansas City, Minnesota, Philadelphia, Las Vegas and the NY Jets.

Tell that to Deion and Revis and the countless cb's who never really tackled.I don't believe so.............

2015 NFL Draft Scouting Report: Wake Forest Cornerback Kevin Johnson
Cornerback Kevin Johnson made 41 career starts while at Wake Forest.
By Aron Yohannes Apr 13, 2015, 10:00am CDT
Behind Michigan State's Trae Waynes, cornerback Wake Forest Kevin Johnson should be one of the next dominoes to fall at the position in the 2015 NFL Draft, along with Washington's Marcus Peters. The Green Bay Packers are one of several teams that might add a corner like Johnson, whose production, athleticism and aggressiveness make him a possibility in the first round.
Here's my evaluation of the Clarksville, MD native with some highlights from his game against the Clemson Tigers.
Pros
First off, Johnson was extremely durable in college. As a four-year starter for the Demon Deacons, Johnson never missed a game due to injury and and made 41 starts in 47 games played, on top of earning all-conference recognition for four years.
THE REST OF THE STORY

And BTW, a cornerback can't be a liability in any way in the tackling game. Otherwise, he’ll be a serious detriment to an NFL defense more often than not.
Right in line with recruiting players with questionable character, to play along with established NFL players with questionable character.Red Flags for Georgia DT
Wyatt had been arrested for kicking down the door of his girlfriend in 2020. Reportedly, other incidents have come to light. I thought the NFL was supposed to investigate these players prior to inviting them to the combine?
You really are prepared to try to compare him with NFL CBs like Deion and Revis?Tell that to Deion and Revis and the countless cb's who never really tackled.
I guess my question is, will all 32 teams need a team of P.I.'s scattered across the country? Or will the NFL do this on a collective basis?Right in line with recruiting players with questionable character, to play along with established NFL players with questionable players.
Sometimes I think it is just a smokescreen.I might be wrong but I think we didn’t draft anyone we had a visit with last year. With all the picks this year I don’t think that would happen again. And you would think they would mix it up some to not show a pattern.
Just something to ponder
